    I owned a 1980 L82 in 1982 and to my knowledge they were all automatic...Excellent paint job mine was black also. The interior and glass t- tops outstanding they do have a tendency to crack over time. Especially if you live where the highways and streets are bad.

      I had a '79 L-82 4spd. For certain the 1980 was an automatic only. The 4-spd. could not get certified for 1980.
      The car in the video has been modified or is a fake L-82.

    It was not from the factory, no L-82 came with a stick. If it's matching engine, it's not matching trans. Nice mod, not that hard.

    This can't be an original 1980 L-82, as it has a manual transmission. Due to the combination of the manual transmission and L-82 not meeting federal emissions requirements, GM didn't make any.

Non L~82 was rated 190 horsepower. Why do people miss lead you I do not know. Any questions contact me at: vette99x@gmail.com

    If the 5 th number in the VIN is an 8, its not an L82. If its an 8, the trans is correct and its an L-48. If its "numbers matching" with a 4 speed, it is NOT an L82. Period.

      I stand corrected, at 01:25 you can see the L82 emblem on the tach. It looks this is a L82 that has the manual swap. Am surprised they did all that work on the interior only to leave the engine bay 'as is'. They could at least clean up some of the rusty bits.

    All 1980 L-82s were automatics. The engine may be original to the car and all but the transmission is not. Nice conversion and all but it's not quite how the car was born. Beautiful car and all but I would pass if I were looking for a truly original car. A nice restomod cruiser? Absolutely. But if the tranny does not match the car well that changes the dynamic. Look at the serial number and then you'll know if it's a real L-82 to begin with. I believe it's the fifth or sixth digit that identifies it as an L-82 and that is the number 6.The L-48 would be an 8 and the California-only 305 would be the letter H {going from memory here}. Awesome looking car though. Many other ways to check but this is still a cool car original or not.

    The headlights did NOT go down at the same time. And there was no video showing them coming up at the same time. What was the cameraman asked to push after the hood was closed?

    • @GunGuy258
      @GunGuy258 3 роки тому +1

      That's as close to coming up and going down at the same time as it gets on a vacuum engaged system. If you don't slam the hood and are gentle the passenger side will not latch. If you pussyfoot the hood, you will have to close the passenger side.
