Who cares if the car only has 190 HP when you're surrounded by something that looks like this. I currently have a 1981 4-speed car with 7,200 miles on it. It scored 99.3% during an NCRS regional judging event this summer. It is the 45th car ever made at the then new Bowling Green plant on the 2nd day of production, June 2, 1981 (VIN # 00045). Only 33 cars were put together on the first day. I absolutely love these cars.

"All show but no go"?? Who FREAKIN' CARES!! These C3 Vettes - from '80 to "82 - are aesthetically the BEST looking of them all! Such eye-candy and definitely a head-turner everywhere you go!

There’s nothing remarkable about 1981 specifically, other than the shittier engine compared to 82

@@ezrahaskard3527 The the 81-82 looks is incredible. I’d would put a 383 stroker engine in it though.

In '82, I traded my '78 L82 4spd for the '82. It was a beautiful car, many standard equipment. But, not exactly a performer. Crossfire fuel injection 4spd auto, heck even cornering lamps. From a sports car to a Grand Touring car. This time I got the glass top, I love having long trips. It was a 2seat Caddy. I ♥️ the comradery of other Vette drivers waving "Hi" @ me when in my vettes. I'm trying to get on the list for the '23 Z06. $$$$$

The color is dark claret I have a 81 c3 with low miles and it’s 2 tone paint autumn red on top dark claret on bottom. The ol girl is a real head turner. Also reason for great looking paint is bowling green started 2 stage paint including clear coat in 81 if you have an 81 c3 from St. Louis you will get a single stage paint

I had a black 1981 corvette with white leather interior, letting it go was the biggest mistake I have ever made.

GM cruise control is a bit tricky, you need to be above a certain speed, then press the button in and slowly release it. Immaculate car!

Crumby power but the styling is timeless.
Tilt lever on left of column in front of turn signal/cruise stalk.

My 1981 C3 was originally black over camel. I changed the interior to charcoal as the camel got too dirty, and had an Eckler’s Turbo body kit installed, Epsilon black mesh wheels with Michelin Pilot tires. C3 was the last true Corvette.
Tilt/tele steering wheel is standard on all C3, T-Top rattle is not standard on all C3 coupes. Top snugness is adjustable at mounting point.
Proof that anybody can sell cars. Doesn’t mean this guys knowledgeable about Vette’s.

Quietest Corvette I've ever heard. So quiet that I can hear that tell tell tone of the GM differential/drivetrain. Time Capsule car though. I understand this is how they came from Chevrolet but.....a silent vette is.....IDK what.

It's because some of us actually don't want to wake up our neighbors when we come home at 1 in the morning. 🙂 But if it makes you feel better, my 81 has an Edelbrock Performer manifold along with Hooker Headers and exhaust so it's got a little bit more rumble to it than factory.

@@rayspeakmon2954 Nice! Sounds like a killer setup. BTW I'm always in bed by 9 and home by 1am. F the neighbors btw. When I would steal my parents loud ass diesel Mercedes at night I'd coast in with the engine off....bwahahahhaha
