By that stump you made the campfire at, there was actually a cave you could see in the distance. If you made it into the back of that & set up your fire there instead you would have potentially survived the blizzard, but hey - dying is part of the learning experience!
The nights are long. The land is cold. Death is just an obstacle. Learn from past lives. this is what the game is about. Sometimes you die all you can do is learn and try again.
"Just give me a normal spawn!" Unfortunately, on Loper these are normal spawns. You rolled two of the more difficult regions to start in, especially if the player isn't familiar with them, and made a good fist of surviving. Well done, Lime. There's a "survive one day on Interloper" achievement for a reason.
@@TheSuperhomosapienWhen I started playing this game ages ago I thought the name was pretty literal as well and actively avoided going there, especially since my introduction to timberwolves was in story mode. I'm glad that they're only in Bleak Inlet but also a little surprised they aren't more widespread across Great Bear
So I went back and watch most of your older content on this game and others. It's incredible to hear the spark and the transformation. You've came a long way and it's pretty cool to go back in time and watch/hear the subtle change over time. You've always had that spark in you but the way you tell the "story" is so polished. You could tell any story at this point and I'd listen to every syllable. Congratulations on everything man. Hopefully one day I can have the pleasure of playing some online zomboid with ya. Huge fan and appreciate the content.
I'm so jazzed Lime is playing Long Dark. It's a game that never got enough love, I don't think, and it's truly an enjoyable experience (this masochistic run of his notwithstanding).
Long dark my beloved. I'm a Pilgrim player mostly but I've watched some Interloper players. It seems really like the big thing at the beginning is to just keep moving from place to place accumulating supplies until you can become a little more self sufficient. It's really tough but just sitting in one place drains all your supplies super fast and the you have to bolt with low meters
Really loving that you decided to continue this playthrough into a series...the long dark really other such survival games really fit your channel and it's great to see you playing something other than Zomboid, it's good for you and good for us.
7:34 If you would have just walked straight instead of turning left you would have seen the fishing hut just over that hill and made it there with time to spare.
Love that the series continues even after the bad fall. Also, please remember that not all notes are just lore. The survivors of the island might have left something useful behind.
So when you make a fire you can take torches out of them to add to your inventory. Also eat about 10-12 cat tails to keep up good food levels. And for the love of GOD please read those notes lying about. They give useful hints as to where good loot may spawn.
Interloper requires a bit of a trick when it comes to food. Starving yourself barely lowers your health, and if you have anything in your food bar when you sleep you get all your health back, so fasting during the day and eating at night just enough for the hours of sleep will extend your food for a LONG time.
I'm 0:02 into the video and I can already feel the worries melting away. It's been too long since I've watched your videos, man XD Thanks for uploading!
Keep it up my dude, I love this series from you! It was one of my favourite games in 2014 when it first came out and has come a long way since (like a huge improvement, it looks way different to what I played back then lol). As others have said, dying is part of the experience, but I'm so hyped to see what you'll make of the new run!
You can partially drink a tea and it'll still give the warmth bonus I believe, and then you can save the rest for another bonus later on. Warming up teas each time you make a fire (you can just place them nearby) also helps!
At least your first spawn wasn't Hushed River Valley. I went down a rope and was too exhausted to get back up it, and it was nighttime, and there is no way out of that area without climbing that rope, so uh... yeah, that's pretty much game over right there!
I found your channel from your PZ episodes and didnt know you were also TLD player i have 1k hours in both and love to see more YT streamers giving TLD some love its such a great game Thanks bro Cheers.
This is probably the few times where I don't mind you trying again a challenge even when you die, Interloper is no joke, I tried surviving for one day and I ended up dying of hypothermia despite being near a fire
loved the part when u said 'i think this game is trying to kill me' lmao yes 100% relatable! me thinks in the first run you stayed way too long in AC, this game is moving or death especially in early game/loper, you NEED a surplus of loot daily! i would recommend going to the summit if you find a hacksaw, i wont spoil much but its going to help u a shit ton until you can trek to the nearest forge
i’m so glad that you’re playing this game and also that you didn’t end the series or episode after the first death. would love to see this series continue for a long time.
Aww.... Nearly survived. There was a cave nearby and the hut wasn't far. If you'd just kept going straight ahead after coming out of Echo canyon you'd have got to the lake and the mountain hut.... You did pretty well for a newb.
Keep an eye out for caves, birch bark and rose hips. Caves can keep you warm assuming no bears are inside. While rose hip tea gives calories and birch bark tea recovers condition AND gives calories.
You're doing great! Looking forward to the next episode! In my opinion, you should try to avoid spoilers from the comments. Man, crummy way to lose that first run. You really were incredibly close to surviving that run through the blizzard! Sometimes the game is like that though, and that's part of what I love about it.
Hey lime here’s a pro tip for ya. Don’t eat anything all day. Let yourself starve until right before bed. Eat about 800 calories and you should heal back everything from the day before from sleep. Hunger damage is REALLY slow in this game so you can survive with like 75% health til the end of the day. Just make sure you eat before you sleep
I used to play this a little. The only thing that bothers me a little about this game is that it's harder to survive than it would be IRL in that situation. It's true that the cold is as dangerous as the game says, but every other aspect of survival isn't as hard as the game makes it. You can go longer without food, animals aren't that aggressive, etc. But oh well, still a fun game.
You shouldnt sleep for 10hours in the mountaineer's hut, it gets too cold sometimes and you could freeze to death in your sleep. you should instead sleep in intervals of 3hours or 4.
you could have used the teas to quickly warm up and then go to the hut. the teas add warmth the weather is too unpredictable to stay outside for too long.

Once again I see you in the wild Mishka!
I mean, with the cloth he was having, he definitely won't have enough heat to survive in the cave, he was even freezing at Angler's den.
Bruh I accidentally spoiled it for myself
Thats the lack of map knowledge for yah. Live and learn!

"We made it to Timberwolf Mountain", what I was thinking was "But now you are at Timberwolf Moutain!"
Ironically enough, there are no Timberwolves in Timberwolf Mountain.

They can also be found in Blackrock Prison. 😉

aye! im really jazzed playing it as well!

try try again!

I love the Long Dark. It's a game that I still come back to every now and then.
A cave and a long fire noting more, and loot all sticks and catails, have pacience.

Ahhh i gotcha!!
Lime: Torches scare away wolves.
Timber wolves: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
Ow man just because of you I played this game again and I discovered that I love it ❤❤ tank you so much 😘
Glad you enjoy it!

Ugh, I love the long dark, my first game
Your first game ever? What a crazy one to start on!
You can partially drink a tea and it'll still give the warmth bonus I believe, and then you can save the rest for another bonus later on. Warming up teas each time you make a fire (you can just place them nearby) also helps!
Also late evening/just after sunset is actually the warmest time. The morning is usually the worst
Love your content. Thank you for all you do!
awe thanks dude!!!! Glad i could give you some nice videos!
Don’t look up too much about this game. It’s much more interesting if you aren’t 100% sure what you will run into around any given corner.
Just looking up important info like large location spots so i dont die from lack of map knowledge!
Really enjoying the first two episodes of The Long Dark! Can't wait to see more of it on the channel
More to come!

Awesome videos, i away from home a week at a time and am in a small town with nothing to do and find myself watching lots of your videos lately
hope you keep playing this, seems like a cool game
If you make another attempt at this, I would 100% try and make your way towards Mystery Lake, or at least to Pleasant Valley.
I have spent so much time living in that cabin. Using it as a base of operations to loot all the plane wreck loot in this area is so good.
Just wanted to let you know that the video order is qrong in the playlist. Love your videos! ❤
The Lone Dark is a favorite for sure! Keep the serie going!
RIP L1me #1, long live L1me #2! May the gods of winter bless this forsaken soul!

you should instead sleep in intervals of 3hours or 4.
When you're ready for something harder, try the hunted challenge.

When I see your profile picture mr Pr1vateLime I get PTSD
LETS GOOOOOO!
One of the best places to find a ton of resources is at the dam. Might try to go there next time.
The carter hydro damn in mystery? cause I def will check out that place in the future!
Yes that's it. Be as thorough as you can be there too because you might be able to score a pretty nice rifle there.@@Pr1vateLime

Hi
I don’t think I saw you put on your gloves. did you?
You should really be picking up all notes you see, they can be nothing or can unlock a rare loot spot and show it on your map.
that's crazy
u must craft teas
you should cover your head and hands as soon as possible in order to prevent frostbite (permanent condition loss)
Ashland canyon? Lolol
