- Just wanted to update all you awesome people as to what's been going on! Lots of projects to do over break! Let me know in the comments how you've been and what projects you want to see most! Maybe I'll get to it! Hopefully! :D Thanks for sticking around guys! It means a lot. I am going to try my best to post as much content over break as possible.

Love the eclectic collection of projects - especially the coherer and the handmade ICE. I have a half-finished rotary brush coherer (magnetic filings suspended from a rotating magnet, lightly touching a sort of commutator pattern on a PCB) sitting on a shelf at the moment. I hope you have a tinkeriffic break!
I'd recommend an oil-varnish for the toboggan. I mix equal parts of linseed oil, turpentine and polyurethane. Wipe on, let it soak in for 20 minutes, then wipe off, dry 24 hrs, reapply. Give it 5-6 coats, then put on the wax. Also, if you use some 0000 steel wool on the bottom it'll make it extra smooth.

My first car was a similarly aged Jetta with a 5 speed, anything below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and the shifter was really stiff. Hard to fix that as thinner fluid would be too thin at warm operating temperatures. Not a bad idea to change fluid in an old car, though.
Also paste wax doesn't last super long but if you keep reapplying it every year and maybe a thick coat before you take it sledding it works great to seal out moisture. You can apply it over Tung oil but Tung oil doesn't really work over paste wax
damn, you grow like ultra fast, man.
You need to treat that sled however they treat wood boats. I have no specific advice, but that's where i would direct my research.

project for the monitor screen if you decide to do that DIYPerks has a great vid for it. and if you end up not doing it you can take out the back light and use it for an amazing light source for photography or videos, he also has a video on doing that, if you havent seen it yet check his channel out, best quality how toos ive ever seen

Here's a fun tip: Throw some cinnamon or black pepper into your radiator if it leaks (only works with small leaks) for a temporary fix if you're broke.

Ferguson 20 diesel I've heard that one too, but never tried it myself. I know the cinnamon one works, but unsure whether the pepper one works.
Only tried it a couple of times myself, so it's all anecdotal, of course. :P
Oh my. I really don't think so. Those tricks might work but heck I would never do that. That just seems like a really bad idea. That'd plug stuff up and just make a mess inside the block. Maybe if it was an emergency. I'm not that poor tho. I've got $100 to burn once and a while.

ouch, unfortunate the car got that damage. It looks quite bad that dent, guess you'll be better off scoring a second hand hood? I wouldn't care too much to put a cheap hood on, even if it's another color. The hole in the radiator, was that because of the accident?

Yeah I was pretty upset at myself. I'll get used body panels and probably have my friend paint them. The radiator leak is from a rusty spot.
The wooden thing is a toboggan. Also called a sled. It's for riding down hills in the snow! Or in the olden days it would have been pulled through the snow behind a team of dogs. When I get some wax on the bottom it's gonna fly down the hills! :D I guess you guys don't get much snow in the Netherlands and you probably don't have many hills.
Cool. Didn't know CREO. Looked it up, the screenshots look almost too familiar to Solidworks, what we use. I see its a program from PTC, we use PTC MathCad for calculations.
Lol, ok Toboggan, never heard that word. Here in the Netherlands we only have way smaller sleds. But we also don't have hills anywhere high enough to be able to use such a big sled. And yes, we don't get too many snow either. Think it would be a lot of fun to fly down a big hill!
dude i'm curious about the results from your last casting vid. i seen a small air void in the pile on the right. so i'm curious about the diff in casting quality between MFB and the pro flux.

you need to put polyurethane on that sled......and a lot of those had a rope that ran down each side so riders could hold on......the rope was attached at each of those cross pieces
