That might help Ryan, but there is also a chance that your grinder will produce fine particles even at a coarse setting (a great many do). If you want a super clear cup you could our through a empty coffee filter into a carafe and that should remove the residue.
@@bluebottlecoffee4527 I increased the grind size to 32 on my Virtuoso & shook more frequently. When it was ready, I poured it through a Chemex after heating/rinsing the filter.
On the guide that comes with this brewer, it says to let it brew for 8 hours refrigerated but the video says to let it brew for 18 hours in room temperature. Could you please clarify? 😭
It also says to use a medium-fine grind instead of coarse. I guess it’s just preference and figuring out what tastes best to you. I think I did a medium coarseness for 16 hours and it was really good
You are correct Orbis, while we love our coffee brewer making partners out there we also like to do things our own way and often come up with our own preferred recipes. Feel free to experiment tho! That is a big part of the fun brewing at home.
If drinking it over ice, I personally feel like 55g is plenty or maybe ~60g (4 coffee scoops, 2tbsps ea). 68g is good when diluting with cream or milk. I wouldn't go outside of 55-68g.
its important for blue bottle to start telling people how to properly clean the top. it grows mold over time. also the filter should probably be stored in the fridge as it will also become caked with mold, no matter how well you clean it.
I dont think it's a matter of how well you clean the filter. It's more important on how you DRY the filter - so maybe dry the filter on a rack so it can air dry properly and give it ample space so that it's not in between other dishes/stuff? To avoid the molding
Absolutely not. You should have coarse-ground coffee, otherwise coffee fines will pass through the mesh filter and the brew taste will not be as good as it could be.
you could potentially make a very small amount? This method is designed to make drinking strength cold brew where as to make NOLA you need to make a very strong concentrate. We suggest using the Toddy Brewing System for the best results with making NOLA
Stop mystifying cold brew coffee. You don’t need expensive gear or gadgets. A jar, coffee grounds, water, maybe wrap your grounds in some cheesecloth, or just run it through a filter after the brew is done. I love coffee gear, but some of it is just unnecessary.
Please convert the grams of coffee into ounces.. I do not have a scale to measure it out in grams and I've tried 3 times already with the ratio being way off
If you are looking for volumetric measurements we tend to use Tablespoons for which we suggest you start with 11 and adjust to taste. Ounces by volume would be close to 6 oz. If you have a scale that only measures in ounces however and you are looking for ounces by weight it would be around 1.89 oz. Hope that helps!
Just bought one today

68 gram would not fit in the coffee basket for the 750ml water. Hario recommends 55grams
Have done it, perfect
Glad to hear it worked out for you!
Does it need to sit for 18 hours in refrigator or room temperature?
Room temperature is what we recommend for the brewing stage and then store it refrigerated after the grounds have been removed to keep it fresh.
What will be the different sitting at room temperature and fridge ?
in refrigator
@@adelwinali6793 it will extract faster at room temperature than in the refrigerator.

Its up to you. Try it yourself. I prefer 24 hrs inside fridge.

The instructions that come with it say 55g but this video said 68g. Could you clarify?
I think they did some experiments and decided to recommend this recipe with 68g and room temperature.

What’s kind of roast level in this recipe?
You can use this recipe as a start for any roast level but we built it around our Three Africas Blend which is a medium to light roast

@@bluebottlecoffee4527 so 11 tablespoons of coffee grounds and 6oz of water, correct?
just fill it about 85 % of the way with coarse coffee.. if you think it needs a little more or less, do that next time
basic math.
Leave at room temperature.... So not cold brew 😂
cold brew just means "not boiling hot water brew". feel free to put in in the fridge if you wanna be that literal about the wording.
