Omg I bust out laughing right at the start! My mom decided I was going to be a dentist. But being a first generation born Asian-American, I only finished 3 years of that lol I ended up with a BS in Hotel Management. But at least mom died happy, because as an older adult I went back to school and now I'm an RN. The perfect career for a Filipino 😂

Watched this on Amazon prime. Honestly this was one of the best I have watched. All jokes were funny and truth in everything what she said not made up.

The only things I gave my kids a pass on was going out with friends and getting drunk. Told them that if that ever happened then they were to call me. I would come no matter when, where. But on the flip side I told them that if they ever did drive drunk that they would never have a car. Lol

my mom is quite different than majority latinas, many latinos parents pray the daughter doesnt end up pregnant. My moms dream is that I finish with my masters, doesnt matter if I had a family between my studies or im old. So long I get my diploma before she dies or gets dementia who know what illness. You are a LOUSY parent if you allow your child to select their major LOL It should be a discussion so you can review potential job prospects after graduation. Sure, your child will be happier but if they have few or zero job prospects, you have no one else to blame but yourself LOL Not all degrees are the same and no, going to university/college is NOT better than not going at all LOL
But if your child is paying their own way, then yes, they can decide whatever they want... with the understanding that unless you're OK with it, they may live with you forever if they don't have many job propsects after earning their degree :)

That's really not the case. I am from Romania (eastern Europe country) and our moms are just the same. She gets very well the struggle of an immigrant parent from a more "traditional country", I love her show.
