My friend Buddy has a Cuban mom and he failed Spanish and she came to the school to chew him out, in Spanish, in a tirade so fast it sounded like a single, extremely long word. When she was done, he showed her one of our tests and she saw why he failed, and it's genuinely just because he answered questions like a real Spanish speaker would. She started reading what he was supposed to answer for one of the written answer questions, laughed hysterically, went to the office, and IDK what she said to vice principal but he no longer had a failing grade after that.
My daughter's best friend is Mexican, born in Mexico. She flunked Spanish (her family speaks Spanish at home) and her parents were angry that she failed...how??? Then they saw the homework assigned and realized that this was not "real Spanish." Her mom went to the school and straightened those situations out...Pronto! 😂
I just married a Cuban man and it’s so true that you can’t have a bad day. When I have a fight with my family and get depressed, he just says, “I haven’t seen my family in two years mí amor.” And there’s a video he has of his hometown that he makes me watch when I complain about money problems 😂
He is hysterical! I think he wrote the sketch on SNL with Pedro Pascal playing the Latino mother meeting Marcello’s girlfriend for the first time. One of the funniest sketches on SNL in years. Maybe ever! He deserves his spot on SNL - no doubt about it! 👏😂
I was born in Cuba. My parents came in '62. I once used the pronoun (in Spanish) for "her" referring to my mom (not in any disrespectful way) but my dad was like, "She is not a her. She is your mother." Never used pronouns for Mami again. Talking back: impossible. Just not done. Not if one wants to live. :D
Same here from Cubano family yet in my ❤family we never forgot leftism, socialism, communism is what ruined Cuba so yeah no oxymoron pronouns here either also why align ourselves like sheep to the same rot here in U.S.
I am not latin, I am eastern European and lived through communism, survived it and later on moved to America. Dual citizen now but feel neither Bulgarian nor American. Marcelo is a pure talent.
So is my mother and she’s Mexican. All moms from every country are the most loving mothers to their children and family and friends, also they can also be a badass mom, too.. That’s what moms do. 😁
He's a natural. I was in the kitchen cooking while my husband was watching UA-cam on the couch, loud enough for me to hear, and when he started listening to this video I laughed out loud so many times I just had to walk over and find out who this guy was. Marcello Hernandes. You're so good!
Ah so…Marcello wrote that specific Spanish class sketch on Saturday Night Live ( Anna De Armis was guest hosting) . It was so funny 😂! He’s so talented 🤩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I love him💙 🇩🇲 🇨🇺🇺🇸
I usually don't laugh at comedians. But this guy is as Caribbean as it gets and maybe that's the only reason I really find his jokes hilarious, as a fellow Caribbean girl.😅
This guy here is solid gold. As a Colombian raised in the US, I relate to him so well. Hilarious. Pin Pun 😅 One of my favorite stand up comedians at the moment.
Every time my Cuban mom would tell me well that’s what you get when I get hurt even when it’s not my fault 😅😅I would tell her I love her yeah whatever is her response 😂😂
My mom was puertorrican, I am puertorrican and I can ASSURE YOU she let us having a guild trip everyday! Theres NO WAY we can have any problems, we are just spoiled brag kids 😆😆😆😆
My parents are both Cuban, and everyone thinks I am either French or Italian. Love this guy! 😍 My parents escaped communism in 1969, I still cannot complain about a bad day to my mom either!😆
I love how he described his mom as a scary woman when she actually looks like a freaking Victoria secret model like seriously she looks like his sister not his mother
I’m Cuban born natural redhead with white pale skin n freckles…. Did I mention green eyes? I grew up in a Cuban area, I was the Irish girl . Lol I lv this guy
I am Latina, spoke Spanish at home, and all of my Spanish teachers and I didn't get along. I failed the classes, and then saw my path: Italian. Immediately I was a success.
En Sudamérica crecimos escuchando *cómete toda la comida! Tu sabes cuantos niños pasan hambre en el mundo?* Marcello es muy gracioso y talentoso. Le deseo mucho éxito ‼️

The communism quips are toooo true. Part of my fam got out of Cuba in the 60s and even tho I never experienced it (being born in US) I know everything about communist life from the hard shoes to the black market to the youth camps. So yea, could never complain about anything growing up in NY. Good times! LOL!😂
My friend Buddy has a Cuban mom and he failed Spanish and she came to the school to chew him out, in Spanish, in a tirade so fast it sounded like a single, extremely long word. That's trippy.

Love this story.! 😂
That’s hilarious!

It’s the benefit of having a rough childhood, you are always grateful for small things
😂😂😂
He’s so cute!

He’s been on SNL already! They made a skit out of his bit about the Spanish class. He’s in it 😄
I don't find him particularly funny, he is kind of annoying to me, but I have seen him a few times on SNL already. Good for him.

Indeed. I almost wet my pants laughing. When Mom throws out the food but carefully folds that paper shopping bag and puts it away - CLASSIC!
Yes it was I was just about to write that this was a sketch 😂❤
As an OG SNL fan, I shared that skit with 25 friends, because I agree, it will be a classic.
“I couldn’t taste for 22 years so eat the soup” 😂☠️😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I look like I tell my mom to SHUT UP!!!
💀💀
that. shit. took. me. OUT 💀💀
I know, hey!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm Mexican-American. I told my mom "no" once, and my dad threw me into a wall. Never said it again.
He said that as soon as i read this comment 💀
same omfgg hahaha
As another Cuban who escaped like Marcelo's mother from Cuba, I approve of everything he said.
I was born in Cuba. My parents came in '62. I once used the pronoun (in Spanish) for "her" referring to my mom (not in any disrespectful way) but my dad was like, "She is not a her. “I look like I tell my mom to shut up” gotta be one of the greatest lines ever said.
As a Cuban American I approve this joke lol my abuela was a master of throwing the clanchetta

AMAZING set. I think I saw him in a TV show or in a movie. I hope he stays a comedian, making the big bucks, bc he has REAL talent.
He’s a cast member on SNL …lol.

I've honestly watched this more times than I should and I almost die at every time I repeat this🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I usually don't laugh at comedians. But this guy is as Caribbean as it gets and maybe that's the only reason I really find his jokes hilarious, as a fellow Caribbean girl.😅
I am a white Hispanic woman and so relate to everything he is saying.
This is one of the best bits ever.
I love him!!!
This young man is a natural. Truly funny. 👏👏👏‼️
Oh! So that's where he got the inspiration for the SNL sketch "Spanish Class" with guest Ana de Armas! Awesome!!!!
Very reminiscent of that sketch, indeed.

So glad he’s on SNL 😂
I watched Dune Part 2, and back in my head chants ‘marcello andre hernandes gonzalez’ and ‘shut up mom’
"Have a good day but just remember.... I free u" 😂 This is ACTUALLY funny
I love it when we Cuban moms are portrait by comedians. My daughter does it to me all the time.😅😅😅
Qué gracioso que eres Marcelo! Me has hecho reír mucho. Mi papá es catalán y mi mamá peruana, crecimos en Barcelona, mi mamá latina era lo máximo!❤🎉
