Great work! Huge fan of the shows and the first show is truly an important landmark in TV history. The attention to the show’s music, drama and action is perfectly given here. Thank you for this artwork!!
Right at the end of 1978 not long after I turned six my father took me and my younger brother to see the big-screen release of BSG, it was the very first film I ever saw (Followed shortly afterwards by Star Wars) and I remember the following year in 1979 watching the spin-off TV-series (The two-parter "The Living Legend" was my favourite episode) which I loved.
I was just telling someone the other day that I was able to see & remember seeing BSG & Buck Rogers in theaters. I turned 5 in '78 when it was released. I think Buck Rogers was '79 or '80.
@@waynewest6160 "I think Buck Rogers was '79 or '80." Buck Rogers was released in New Zealand in 1979, I don't recall if I saw it on the Big Screen but I do remember watching it avidly on TV (BSG was onscreen about the same time too).
Excellent work once again. This kind of fan work can be taken a step further. The premise of the 'What if' scenario could be explored. For example, 'What if' the civiian ships were each issued with a Laser Turret similar to the Galactica's Turrets (via workshops aboard the fleet)? Seeing Cylon Raiders approacjhing the civilian ships only to be met by 200+ Laser Turrets via the civilian ships would be awesome to behold! Individually the cvilian ships are weak but together can rival the defensive firepower of a Battlestar! As a TOS BSG Fanboy I have always wondered about the 'what if the colonials did this scenario?'.
I grew up watching this show. I really miss it. From late 70s. Then Galactica, 1980. Then, I watched the reboot of the new series of the 2,000s. Which was pretty darn good! But the original series will be always my favorite. Thank you so much for bringing part of my childhood to life again.❤️👍

Just watched “Adrift”, which will not let me comment for some reason, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. Thank you for making it! It made my inner twelve-year-old self super-happy
Very well done! I'm impressed at the modern special effects used to make something that respects the original work and doesn't stray outside the box just because you could. There's even film grain and I swear, some hairs on the lens in some of what would have been miniature shots! This is a great piece of work, you've really captured the visual language of this show and its era. I'm just a little disappointed the story didn't include characters, there's only so much that you can vehiculate with... well, vehicles. The Cylons brought some well needed dialogue, and the later part featuring some humans helped, it just suffers from the lack of their presence in the opening moments. Still, amazing cinematography. Love to see more!
Wow! Better than the entire Disney SW sequel trilogy. And that’s an entirely different franchise. I would have rather paid to see this instead in the theater.
I agree 100%. Same shiny talking cylons. With inhanced weapons. Same Base Star & cylon raiders but advanced. And cylon centurions, creators were a lizard-like race.
If by that you mean "The Second Comming" continuation, yes, if you mean the 2003 version, no, they did a fantastical job rebooting BSG with the respect it deserves. Sure, you all love the original one more than anything, me included, but to say the 2003 version of everything (ships, theme, music, etc), including the desings is a bad thing and it's a disrespectfull statement. Respectuflly brother, you are wrong, sometimes people do things out of love from the originals and still is a valueable thing. So far Dune (2021) is also prooving this to be a fact.
Beautiful and stunning, really takes me back I always preferred the original series to Moore's poorly written thing which always seemed to be searching for a purpose, and a believable plot line.
The RDM series had two really good years. Then it seemed like they ran out of scripts and had no idea where they were headed. This is a common problem with current shows. They don't write all the way until the end of the series. This is why Bablylon V held together so well - there was a writer's guide that plotted all the major action points for all five years before they even started.
@@thelaughinghyenas8465agreed. It was like the writers got lazy, or bored. If they would have stuck to the original story plot instead of going goofy, it would have worked so much better.

The Cylons were a blind reptilian race which is why their helmet has a 'red scanner' to enable them to see (provided by their Imperious Leaders who were a caste of Cylon who had the ability of sight). The successive Imperious Leaders had cybernetic implants installed into the Cylon brains to make them more obedient and disciplined warriors. This is so beautifully done. Creative and thoughtful in its presentation. I love the Raiders bobbing and weaving through the fleet, the Viper cockpit POV scenes as the pilot views the battle around him, and the shots from new perspectives, such as the top-down attack at 10:01. The most beautiful scene is at 14:09. We have seen this one before, but it was well wroth including again. It really underscores how small and vulnerable the fleet is, a few specks amongst the stars. Thanks so much for creating and sharing this. What a shame that CGI wasn't available to Mr. Larson in 1978.

My only complaint is that I can only hit the like button ONCE!!! AWESOME JOB!!! It felt true to the original from my childhood & pulled in aspects from the mid 2000s BSG. Beautifully done & CGI was WAY better than expected for a "fan film".
i was 13 when it came on TV this is so amazing alot of work and creativity put into this i never cared for the reboot though i watched a little of it.. classic Sci fi never dies. I liked episodes Gun on Ice Planet Zero and Living Legend
I have always maintained that THIS version of the Battlestar Galactica was always more reflective of what a true warship would be. Not organic or curved like the reimagined Galactica. But with pipes and conduits and corridors and bulges and things unknown dotting it's "landscape". That's where the reimagined Galactica fell flat. If you were going to make a tribute to BSG TOS, then they should have given Adama a new "Mercury" Class Battlestar which actually does embrace quite a bit of the TOS Galactica. But as for this tribute? Fantastic!!! I wish there would be a new BSG, but with ships like the original TOS. Sure they can take a "few" liberties and perhaps clean up the TOS Galactica. Maybe make it a bit more modern. But not a complete redesign. And don't regress the technology!!! Let it have laser cannons and energy weapons. Modernize the Vipers and add Raptors. Also, they need to keep the original Cylon Basestars! And don't make them "humanity's creation". Make the Cylons truly alien! A race of cybernetic being who conquered their creators. The original TOS story was that! Even use the reimagined Cylon Raiders and above all bring back Lucifer!! The IL series machine who hated, but worked with the traitor Baltar.
Edit: To clarify, if they were going to do a tribute to the reimagined series, they should have given Adama command of a "Mercury" Class Battlestar. The Pegasus looked much closer to the TOS Galactica.

Oh man, the graphics, the picture quality, the super high-def effects are SPECTACULAR! Flawless, amazing beyond compare. Colors so sharp and rich, they are mind-blowing!! If you are a fan, you should be hired immediately to re-do all the graphics from the single-season original series, much like ther redid the original Star Trek graphics to update them. This is even better than those updates in terms of visual quality. You have a GIFT, an amazing talent, WELL DONE, SIR!!!....
This is nothing short of amazing! I, who watched every episode of Battlestar Galactica even through the painful Galactica 1980, was completely enthralled while watching this. The music, ,effects and effort and so apparent that I can’t imagine the amount of work this must have taken. Bravo, Peter, bravo!
@@edwardbardo4576 thank you so much ❤️
I actually have to say I am quite impressed. Putting critique aside some of the models and fly by animations hit the nostalgic spot. Thumbs up
Thank you for honoring my childhood with this absolutely FANTASTIC piece of work!!!! I was 7 when the series came out and still watch it to this day. Thank you again!
Thank you Peter for bringing back a piece of my childhood, now I am an old man like Commander Adama. Greetings from Berlin...
Wow i need more of this in my life thank you Peter ! Bless you !
You got the look right, the sounds all match the original version of Battlestar Galactica... I'd say you hit this one out of the park. Great job.
That was an amazing passion project, my friend. There are many great ships throughout sci-fi screen history, but nothing as majestic as battlestars!
Breathtaking! So beautifully done! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you!
Loved this show growing up. It'll always be close to my heart. This is outstanding work sir. Thank you.
I grew up on Battlestar and other shows of that era. I must say, nicely made. KUDOS to all your hard work. Awesome job.
A wonderful reminder to the Galactica. I enjoy the new creation. 47 years ago I saw the movie.
Attent lause moi trouver un disque qui va avec.amitiés Viviane 🫵🎶🎼🤝
This video deserves more likes. This was amazing. The special effects, to each scene, the immersive sound quality. I played this on a 65 in OLED with complete surround sound. You did a fantastic job.
Wow this took me back to my childhood watching BSG with many family who have passed away.
Thank you for the fond memories. Well done.
Amazing stuff, lovely attention to detail, recreating many of the original model FX shots, but adding some new ones in too. Thanks for uploading and for sharing your amazing talent.
Thank you so much!
I was 17 when the original BSG came out. This brings back some great memories!
Love the original and love this tribute. Solid proof for: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Star wars, star trek, gets most of the credits ,but battle star Galactica, was a pretty good series, you did a great job with the CGI , great work.
George Lucas hates Battle Star Galactica because he says it was a rip off of star wars 😅
@@carterbetts7195 I heard of that before, George Lucas, did made a good movie with many branches of star wars keep amerging, do like them both battle star Galactica and star wars, plus star trek,👍🏽.
@@moisesking4726 do you think George Lucas is using his power to keep BSG from getting a big movie remake ?
@@carterbetts7195 who knows , battle star Galactica didn't make it to the big screen, star wars started very popular till this day maybe gorge Lucas, is a Jedi we don't know of,I know there's one rival to star wars,,and that's star trek, but who knows some one might bring battle star Galactica back.
Beautiful, they need to give you a job mate. Your Galactica is simply gorgeous and the shot of the Cylon Raiders appearing from the shade of the Basestar is the best ive seen.
Jeez, this is fricking beautiful! You've done some amazing working here sir! And the scene with the retro-jets on the Vipers? Brilliant.
Someone's been very very busy. Just placing all of those greebles must've taken a bazillion hours -- not just for the Battlestar, but for all the convoy ships and even the Basestars. Truly excellent work! Your CGI work has clearly been handled with the care that goes into practical model making.
Awesome that you included Zac's (Rick Springfield) scene in the Viper, the engine blowing out.
As we all know that Adama's other son didn't make it, in the original pilot.
Thanks for this rendition, it was great.👍
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! This is BEAUTIFUL! ♥♥ What A Fantastic! Honored Tribute.! BRAVO! 1000% Better Than The Garbage Hollywood Puts Out. This Should Be On The Big Screen.... again BRAVO! GREAT JOB!
Peter and team: You have done an incredible work, I enjoyed a lot watching this video. I guess Glenn would be very happy and proud.
@@rlcd1967 thank you! ❤️
Beautiful work. Brings back childhood memories.
What a wonderful short film! It has all the original Galactica charm! So cool!
Stayed at a Residence Inn first time in socal 25 yrs ago.
Was checking in and heard a familiar voice from Battlestar Galactica. Asked the reception folks after he was gone if that was him and they said yes - he comes here to relax every month or so.
Took a while to realize it was Patrick MacNee
Takes me back. Very nicely done.
If you only knew how many Cylon Raiders i destroyed in my back yard colonial viper......i was quite the pilot....
Ok this is very well done. The intro with the fleet did immediately take me back in time. Even some film 'noise' Seriously, well done.
So love all the original sound effects. Brings back great memories. Times were a lot simpler back then compared to now. Hoping for a better future for us all...
"Hello Beautiful" - Captain William Riker. Ver rarely do I see the Basestar from above the way you did them.
"BRILLIANT!" Brings back memories! Send more please!!!
This is really well made, this is a real blast from the past.
Brought a tear to my eye, brilliant work
Faaaaaaantastic Job !!! A real tribute to this Classica Show.
Thank's for that.
Excellente! Very well done. I saw the original movie when it first aired in 1978. My favorite sci-fi saga of all!
The sound effects really sell this, keep refinining!
Well done! Especially the Cylons ! My favourite robots of all time
Simply AWESOME!!!!! Thanks for making me feel like a child again!!!! (I am 54 now)
My only complaint is that I can only hit the like button ONCE!!!
AWESOME JOB!!!
It felt true to the original from my childhood & pulled in aspects from the mid 2000s BSG.
Beautifully done & CGI was WAY better than expected for a "fan film".
I can’t add anything else that already been mentioned. Brilliant, Beautiful, Stunning. WE WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!
I can look at this all night long .
Great work! Awasome series of the 80`s. Congratulations!
I thought I'd watch a little of this. Couldn't stop. What a pleasant surprise........ Well done.
Excellent! I used to draw all these ships in school (not well, but such was my enjoyment of the show). This is pure gold!
Beautiful work. The love for the material comes through
That was beautiful. Truely stunning, your video made my heart leap.
Mama duck, follow her she will protect you, love this. wow you just took possible reality to a brand new place
This is very well done.
Love these videos, the detailing, especially on the Galactica is amazing.
BEST on the net, and hoping more is to come!! WELL done!!!!
I love the weapon sounds from the old show. I wish the game Battlestar galactica Deadlock had the old weapon sounds.
Thank you and Bravo!!! I just relived my childhood.
i was 13 when it came on TV this is so amazing alot of work and creativity put into this i never cared for the reboot though i watched a little of it.. classic Sci fi never dies.
Amazing, well Done!! I miss the original Galactica, one of the best shows ever
