I’ll watch and like, while barely getting any part, as a native English speaker/American and Native American, though Finnish reminds me a lot of learning various native languages here. Definitely not the same, but from what I can and remember, a tiny amount is similar, st least overall.

Voi kun lämmittää sydäntä nähdä viimeinkin Nightwish-reaktio ensimmäisellä kotimaisella ja vielä näin asiantunteva. Niitä kun on nähtyt ehkä jo satoja, niin kaikkien enemmän tai vähemmän huonoa englantia huutavien käsiänsä läpsyttelijöiden keskellä tämä Annan rauhallinen ote on kuin järven selkä kesäyönä. Floor had only been with the Band for about 2 months before this performance. This song had been shelved from concerts due to Anette’s limited abilities. They brought it back as it was one Floor’s favourite songs before she joined the band. Despite being a basically new singer to the band, the audience was chanting her name after she finished singing.
Every Nightwish song sung by Floor is a blast. : Dead boy's Poem, Storytime etc .... Floor is a divine aloen 🔥🤘👍🙏
Hi, Anna Vaskelainen. You are Finnish (I'm 100% sure, I have a good ear for languages. Plus, your name is Finnish too) so I'm pretty sure you know a lot about Nightwish. You obviously talked about Floor's vocal choices. The "slide" you noticed and analyzed at about 13:00 is named "portamento" as I understood from another reactor with operatic training (soprano). Unfortunately, I didn't understood what you said, and you haven't subtitles added to the video. So I concentrated at your facial expressions and gestures. You have a very expressive (and beautiful..) face. Please continue to make reactions, and don't be a stranger to Nightwish, to see you again :) And maybe in time you'll add subtitles to your videos too..

I am a finn yes and thanks for popping in and dropping this super nice comment! 😊 Nightwish Arena there explained the intro very nicely so you should check that comment out. This was pretty much my first time listening to Nightwish live. I am a vocal coach, but I try to keep my reactions quite down to earth for general watchers and vocal curious people. I have been aiming my material for Finnish listeners but all the commentary this video gained have gained really got me thinking 'bout doing english versions too. Or at least the subs, as you mentioned! Thanks again. (Plus you're from Romania, how cool is that! Such an intriguing country.)
@@annavaskelainen I usually give the "welcome message" to new reactors to Nightwish. If I knew that's your first "touch" to their live materials, my first message would be more informative and less personal. So - better and worse in the same time..
It should be nice to continue to react to this band, in English or with subtitles. The fanbase is international as you already understood.
A very good starting point is the Wacken 2013 show, considered "the golden standard" by many. Floor was at the time for 10 months with the band, and the band seems to reborn with her on stage. And the video and audio quality is excellent.

It seems you are impressed by our Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen. If you are not to familair with Floor here is some background information. She started in the band 'After Forever' in 1997 as a 16 year old. The music video of the song 'Energize Me' is my favourite. During that period she got her music education at the new formed Rock Academy (there is a nice TV recording of a reunion with her classmates and images with Nightwish during their Tampere Concert in 2015). After the Rock Academy she attended the conservatory for a year to get some classical lessons also. After Tarja and Nightwish split ways, Tuomas already wanted to have Floor as replacement. He knew her because After Forever acted as support band on their European Tour. Floor and Tarja became good friends since that time. Because he didn't want to force Floor to leave After Forever however, he searched elsewhere and so Annette became the lead singer of Nightwish. After Forever disbanded in february 2009. Floor started her band 'Revamp' from scratch and began to experiment with different vocal sounds including serious growls. Good examples of her versatility are 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' from that period. As she is a perfectionist and wanted to do too much at the same time she got a serious burnout in 2012. She had just recovered from that and then the call came from Tuomas to fill in for Annette who became sick during their North America Tour. She had to learn their entire setlist in 48 hours (see also the documentary 'Please Learn the Setlist in 48 hours'). After she became a permanent member of Nighwish in 2013, she continued with Revamp for a couple of years, but could not combine the two bands in the end, so they disbanded in 2016. Her performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' became legendary. At last she got some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor uploaded many interesting videos in the last year such as chats with her idols and other singers, mindblowing covers, vocal masterclasses and much more. Just go to her UA-cam channel and unpack some of the presents she left there (Floorgasm alert!). As she is a high sensitive person, peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton); daughter Freja (just turned 4 years); a horse and pony; 3 cats and a puppy dog, she found this.

@@annavaskelainen hi Anna, just an fyi while this concert in B.A. is good the Wacken 2013 is the ultimate and legendary performance,at the B.A. show Floor had only been singing with Nightwish for less than 3 months, at Wacken 2013 she had 10 months in and perfected her performance,The Wacken 2013 is a seminal & pivotal concert ,every song is better than the originals. ciao

Kiitos Anna! That was a great reaction to watch. I don't speak Finnish at all, but your face was an open book. However, I did understand when you talked about how Floor flips from one vocal style to another and sometimes she does that in one sentence. She is something special! And so is Nightwish.
If Covid allows it, I will come to Finland for the first time in my life (I'm 57) end of July as I have tickets for Kuopiorock and Qstock to see Nightwish in their home country. BTW, Floor is from my home country. Best regards from the Netherlands.

Olen nähnyt satoja reaktio videoita mutta taidat olla niitä ensimmäisiä joka mainitsee Floorin hengitystekniikasta, joka mun mielestä on ihan mieletön ja Floori on tarinakertojana ihan uskomaton. Hän vei Tuomaksen sävellykset ihan muihin svääreihin. Jatka ihmeessä Floorin ja Nightwishis kanssa. @@annavaskelainen kiitos itsellesi :) moni mainitsi GLS Wacken 2013 joka todellakin on uskomaton ja yks Floorin upeimpia esityksiä. Itse pidän tästä enemmän koska tää loppuhuipentuma on yks tän laulun upeimpia vetoja mitä hän on tehnyt. Argentiinassa on Nightwishisin tulisimpia ja suurimpia faneja jotka palvovat tätä bändiä. Tässä vaiheessa konserttia lämpötila teatterissa oli jo yli + 40 sen takia Tuomas heittää vesipulloja yleisölle, ja energia oli todella korkea ja tämä esitys kyllä kruunasi Floorin jalansija Argentiinalaisiin jotka tunneetusti on ja oli kovia Tarja fanittajia. Mutta suosittelen myös GLS Wacken 2013.

Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, agility, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet.

Mahtava reaktio ja tosi kiva saada suomalainen voice coach tänne juutuubin puolelle! Biisiehdotuksia tulee varmaan kymmeniä, kolme suurinta NW reaktiobiisiä on tämä GLS, Poet and the Pendulum/ Wembley ja Greatest Show on Earth/Tampere. Just now I listened to your reaction to GLS. I have heard some interviews in Finish (with Tuomas, Kai, Marko) and really could't make any sugar of it. Floor is simply amazing. She can and does sing in multiple languages and she sings any style she wants to sing!
If you want to see more of her talent you should look up a TV show called Beste Zangers (I think I spelled that right), where she performed quite a few different songs that I'm sure you would love.

Hienoo kuulla suomeksikin näitä analyyseja. Tässä kohta Floor oli ollut bändissa reilut 2kk, tuli kesken USA:n kiertueen 48h harjoitus/varoajalla. Jos haluat kuulla vielä eeppisempää Nightwishii niin suosittelen The Greatest shown on Earth live Tampere 2015 Ratina stadion(20min maapallon evoluutiosta😀), uudelta levyltä 2020 ehkä Hows the Heart(Planet Rock acoustic live ja normaali albumi versio).

Ai kun on mukavaa nähdä uutta sukupolvea löytämässä Nightwishiä! Ja ihana katsoa ja kuunnella termistöä suomeksi. Tervetuloa symfonisen metallin pariin syvemminkin. Suosituksena seuraavaksi Storytime livenä Wackenista 2013 (kuten varmaan moni muukin on toivonut). Terveisiä Lapista, Nightwishin fani jo vuodesta 1997.
Tästä kappaleesta tulen tuskin koskaan saamaan tarpeekseni, siitä tuntuu löytyvän jokaisella kuuntelukerralla jotain uutta ihmeteltävää!

On se tavallaan hassua kuinka löytää ittensä ties kuinka monetta kertaa kattomasta samoja biisejä reaktiovideoiden muodossa mut jotenki siinä tulee fiilis ku kokis biisin ittekkin ekaa kertaa ja siihen sitten eläytyy. Huomaa myös uusia yksityiskohtia.
Mahtavaa että suomekskin löytyy tekijää, näitä laulua analysoivia pätkiä on hauska katsoa kun itsekin musiikin harrastajana yrittää aina soittelun ohessa kiljua ja sitä tulee ihmeteltyä, että miten kaikkea erilaista ääntä voi saada ulos. Miellyttävällä tatsilla vedät, jatka samaan malliin!

Kiitos videosta. Itse löysin Nightwishin juuri reaktiovideoiden kautta. Sama tilanne kuin sulla oli, aattelin olevan liian mainstreamea tykätäkseni. Kiva olla väärässä.
Yks paljon reagoitu bändi on Jinjer ja heiltä Pisces (live session). Varma veto valita tuo vaikka itse enemmän kolahtaa esim. Teacher teacher, Perennial (live) tai I speak astronomy. Ei varmaan huono veto ois jotain näistä ottaa 😊
Tässä asiassa on todellakin kiva olla väärässä.

Jos haluat kuulla mihin kaikkeen Floor pystyy niin suosittelen kuuntelemaan esimerkiksi "Yours is an empty hope" @wembley. Uusimmalta albumilta(Human:Nature, 2020) suosittelen "shoemaker"ia. En tiedä kuinka tuttu Marko Hietala on laulajana, mutta hänen laulua jos haluat kuulla nii "Islander" Tampereella on hyvä. Hienoa kuulla Suomeksi analyysia mutta tuhatpäinen Nightwish army haluaa myös tietää mitä sanot.

Suosittelen katsomaan Wacken 2013 version samasta biisistä, tässä kohti Floor on ollu vasta muutaman viikon bändin kanssa ja kesken kiertueen opetellu biisit. Wackenissa takana on jo 10kk ja ero on selkeä.
Floor on tällä hetkellä yks maailman parhaista, hyviä laulajia on paljon mutta samantasosia ei ole ku kourallinen.
Wackenin keikka on muutenkin aivan uskomaton, suosittelen katsoo useammankin biisin.
Vinkki, jos haluat tilaajia, laita eng tekstitykset tai puhu englanniks, Nightwish fanit tulee aika joukolla. 🤘🎶 🎸🇫🇮

Aloitin tekemään tätä reaktiosarjaa siis alunperin mun lauluoppilaille,
joten selkeästi suuntasin Suomi-Tuben puolelle (jossa ei muuten ole laulureaktioita juurikaan)

kaiken tämän globaalin chattailyn jälkeen pitää ne subit ainakin vähintään lisätä, heheh 😁😁
Floor oli ollut bandissä kaksi ja puoli kuukautta Buenos Airesin keikkaan mennessä ja konserttitahti oli sellaista että tämä oli hälle jo 25. keikka joten GLS oli jo aika tuttu laulu 🙂 Toki Wackenin elokuun 2013 versio menee kyllä minullakin tämän version ohi, Floorilla on siinä hieman erilainen ote. Bändi oli siihen mennessä jo pyytänyt Floorin vakkarijäseneksi ja hän oli suostunut mutta tieto julkistettiin vasta myöhemmin syksyllä.
Joo tälle ääni. Olin ensin pettynyt ettei ollut Wacken - versio, mutta tässä olikin joissakin kohdissa mielenkiintoisia eroja. Tässä olisikin paikka vertailla kehitystä; kuten todettiin, tämä versio on vielä aika raakile verrattuna myöhempään.
Ja kiitos näistä, vaikka en itse laula lastenlauluja enempää on kiva oppia tekniikkaa myös suomeksi😊
Olen katsellu reactio videoita tästä melko paljon, ja todellakin kiva kuulla vaihteeksi suomeksi ja vielä oikeasti asiantuntevaa analyysiä. Hieman harmitti kun et ollut valinnut Wacken versiota, siinähän Floor laulaa aikalailla täydellisesti.

It is amazing how different songs can sound between Wacken (which i mostly watch) and BA.
I think they play the song a little different in some parts, Floor sings it a little different (maybe because of the flu she had in this show if i remember correctly) but the mix is different also. You hear more crowdnoise than in Wacken for example and I think the drums are more prominent. I may be totally wrong tough.

It’s so nice to see that you’re not trying to speak in English, you could quite easily spoil your reaction by trying to translate in your head; to really get your raw reaction you need to concentrate on one thing only, what you are listening to. Your reaction to Nightwish and Floor was so very good, it’s so interesting to see your technical remarks and analysis of the piece. Yes I’m a big Nightwish fan, and of course Floor, she is so versatile; I don’t know if you’ve seen any of her solo or duo work she has done with Henk Poort, he was her childhood hero, she has always wanted to perform with him.

A year late, but Floor was sick before going on stage--she had been throwing up with a fever. Then this popped out. Pretty cool.
I haven't yet experienced Nightwish live, but man does it look like a serious party. haha. Nightwish has quite a wide demographic, I'm 66, and you see a lot of young people in the crowd from all around the world. It's pretty amazing. Thank you for reacting to Nightwish.

Uu, mahtavaa! Oon kauan etsinyt suomenkielisiä asiantuntijareaktioita metallimusiikkiin, ja vihdoin toive toteutui. Yay, kiitos sulle! 🥳 Tykkäsin sun videossa, että kelasit uudelleen haluamaasi kohtaan voidaksesi osoittaa mitä tarkoitat. Holopainen on nero ja Floor aivan mieletön tulkitsija. Musiikillisia kameleontteja molemmat.

@@annavaskelainen Se on varmaan tasapainoilua, kun tietää kovasti enemmän kuin yleisönsä. 😁 Itse maallikkona mutta musiikista ja laulamisesta superkiinnostuneena ajattelen, että teknisillä termeillä briljeeraaminen vain briljeeraamisen vuoksi on tylsää. Mutta ääninörtteily siellä täällä ei haittaa yhtään, kun sen tekee maallikolle ymmärrettävästi vaikkapa konreettisin esimerkein ja miksei vertauskuvinkin ja kun sen avulla kuulija ymmärtää paremmin, miksi jokin laulajan tekemä valinta sopii musiikkiin tai laulun viestiin. That sound suspiciously like Finnish (that said, i am hardly a language expert...lol), and i honestly dont understand a word past "perkele" :) You have *got* to have heard of Nightwish, so this cant be much of a "reaction" :)
This footage is from Buenos Aires in 2012 (December if i recall), just a couple of months after Floor joined the band (Nightwish parted with Anette and recruited Floor on October 1st, 2012). You can hear in Floor's performance that this is a new song for her, and that she is still figuring out how to perform it.
You would be surprised to find out how many Finns really doesn't know a shit about Nightwish. Yes, almost everyone knows that they are Finnish band and most Finns at age between 25-50 have heard at least few of their songs, but there are also so many who really don't know anything about them. But here Anna explains at beginning, that when she was younger she did listen to some heavier music like Iron Maiden and Children Of Bodom, but Nightwish was perhaps a bit too "mainstream" for her back then (yes, that is only possible in Finland), and that she didn't listen to Nightwish because others did =)
Haha Nightwish Arena here explains me very well actually! I Thank you for the small insight for this gig, I could't tell she only joined the band a couple of months before this gig. If anything, that makes this performance even more impressive.

I come along to rewatch this Recap from Time to Time, still the Best for the South American Version of GLS imo, Meaningfull, strong and self-aware, yet authentic and very charming. Who else do put the Subs so accurate after it was ask for, this Lady is serious Buiseness;)

Like most I didn't understand the words, but your are so expressive! Clearly impressed and enjoying it. I think you loved Floor's versatility.
Some don't like a lot of pausing, but I think it's great if after a comment there is a small rewind, so well done. Your smile reminds me of Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke), anyone ever said so as well? You could do a reaction in english, but I actually prefer Finnish with English subs, love the language! 😍
