Yes to all of this. However, the "latest update" includes a subscription fee if you want to send/upload your videos to... anywhere. Yes, you can revert back to the "Classic" version and all will be well, but you won't get any of these interface upgrades/updates unless you pay a monthly for it. It's an absolute slap in the face to those of us who PAID for the app in the first place.
I like your reviews and tutorials very much. They are very impartial and informative. The only problem I face is your speed !! If you could pause between topics, it would make the tutorials more palatable and attractive for armatures like us .. Thanks and I'm looking forward for many more tutorials from you ...😊

Glad that you made a tutorial about this app because all the other tutorials that are on youtube are like 2 yrs old which doesn't have the same user interface as the latest app update.
@@steveclarke94 thanks for the answer, in comments above I read that You also have to pay a fee to send or upload they vídeo in a social network ...I mean You pay they suscription and also pay that fee....that is true?
I am also loving the new app update. I have been trying around 5 different apps and this one is the easiest and most powerful to use. And it records in Dolby Vision color space. Your video helped me in getting to understand the new features. I also love that the app doesn't try to clutter the screen trying to make it look like a DSLR. A few apps i tried even take up half the screen in function controls. I like having a full screen view to see more of what I am shooting. There are a lot of functions but most are easy to access.
Thanks for sharing! This was a super helpful overview. I didn’t realize I could set the focus and white balance to the center of the screen. I’m going to try that out. I used to use Filmic Pro before they went with the subscription model, and I’ve been using the default iOS camera app since. But, I’ve been wanting to get a bit more granular so I might try it again.
This is an awsome guide, thank you for putting so much time into such a detailed guide. Its vids like these that remind me how fricking incredible UA-cam is.
Great video, you are a talented explainer and I thank you. I have to make a comment about the subscription gripes, I ask all those complaining about subscriptions to please pull back and look at the bigger picture. Here you have a developer team who has spent countless hours developing an app that converts your phone into a professional video capture device and like all of us need to make a living and survive so as to offer improvements and at the least keep the app relevant as technology advances, in todays world subscription pricing is the only fair way for developers to stay in business creating awesome apps.
I agree with you that a subscription-based model can be beneficial for both the developers and the users. A recurring revenue stream provides developers with financial stability, allowing for continuous updates and improvements. However, the issue here is not the transition from a one-time purchase to a subscription; rather, it's the abrupt price hike that accompanies it. Previously, the app was available for a one-time fee of $15, and it's hard to justify an increase to more than 10 times it's original price... per year, specially without any substantial new features. Back when they introduced the subscription model I proposed a more equitable price point of $2 per month. This rate seems fair for both parties: it offers users reasonable access to the app, while providing developers with a steady income stream. Keep in mind that the app was initially designed and maintained with revenue from a $15 one-time fee. Therefore, a $24 annual fee per customer under the new model would still represent a very significant increase in revenue for the developers. But well, that discussion may be moot at this point. Blackmagic has just released their own camera app, which offers more intuitive controls, direct connectivity to DaVinci Resolve, and replicates the functionality of a Blackmagic camera, all for free.
@@franklinmichael671 Yes I understand what you’re saying re the substantial rise in subscription but without knowing the internal workings of the developer I can only guess the original one off $15.00 was a way to get noticed and have many people try it out and that for the developer to actually make a living I suspect that is why the subscription price. Regarding the Blackmagic camera app it is too early to say how much this will disrupt Filmic Pro. I have tried the BM app and it is good but I still prefer the FP app in how it is laid out, also with the companion app Doubltake gives me great value. Time will tell but I would suggest the developers are hard at work with future updates.
Thanks for this video, it's got me feeling like I'm using a camera when I film on my phone. 1 question if I may. When I'm white balancing on my DSLR, I select a white area of the image, to essentially tell the camera "this is white", and it adjusts the white balance to whatever I've selected. Can this be done on Filmic Pro, as I want to be more precise than using a preset, but don't know yet how to use the Kelvin scale?
Hi, I´m a great fan of your detailed tutorials on UA-cam! At the moment I´m testing the Filmic Pro app and have the problem, that if I adjust the ISO to lowest point (55) and shutter speed to 1/50 I have a totally overexposed picture (in- and outside!). I have to set the shutter speed to 1/4800 to get a little bit "normal" picture 😳. That differs so extremely from all settings in your tutorials. Everyone told that at a fps 25 I have to use the doubled ss of 1/50, but this doesn´t work 🤷♀. Don´t know whether I made something wrong or not. I´m using the iPhone 15pro with newest updates etc. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? The filmic pro support haven´t respond 😕.
Thank you so much for this video. I had no clue what was going on with the new version. I still don’t know how to use my iPad for a remote. They changed its function in the new FilmicPro. Maybe you can cover this in future videos. I see where you push the Wi-Fi button down, but my iPad doesn’t seem to pick it up. Thanks again.
Hi, how to take photos using this app? Or it is just meant for videos only? Is there any app which can be used for de squeezing photos only? I am using iPhone 14 pro with 1.33x anamorphic lens. Thanks in advance.
The FilMic Pro app no longer uses the optical lenses on an iPhone for zooms, only digital zoom which I refuse to even consider. So I'm using the iPhone native app for now, or moving on to somethin else. Got any other options for us disgruntled former users?
I paid the full price for filmic from the beginning , especially for gimbal integration. Now this new owner fucks me over with their subscription model. No thanks , pcs of crp

is not free... it never was. But used to be way way cheaper... Now is subscription based. $50 a year I think. Lots of ppl are jumping bote > There are many other apps. but unfortunately Filmic pro is I think the best.. even Netflix suggest to use it if one wants to use the Iphone footage for streaming with them...
I was about to respond with Yes, but then thought I’d test it out and I can’t get it to do that now, which i would have sworn was an option before.. but maybe not.
@@PrimalVideo In the legacy version you can go manual, adjust exposure so desired frame rate was showing, tap the frame rate - turning it red, and it would be locked. Lock frame rate again, go to reticle mode, unlock the reticle and point at a dark area. Switch back to manual and note frame rate did not change but ISO did.
