1. Turn off Noise reduction 2. Turn off Sharpness 3. Use flat or log profile 4. Shoot 24fps 5. Set shutter speed at 48 or 50 6. Use nd filter during day :)
A few of these things I had figured out already myself, but it took years and years. This video would’ve been incredible for me in the very beginning, in fact it’s really really super awesome for me right now. Thanks so much
HAHA!! I almost didn’t film the video because I didn’t have 2 working tripods but then I was like “well.... it’s only a little noticeable... I’m probably just over analyzing and no one will know!” 😬😂
Great stuff, indeed. I did not know (or just forget) about the grid feature in FilmicPro. Another nice thing to get really great looks is to use the Log-2 mode when filming and then in post switch (I use DR studio) to colorspace ACEScc and select as IDT the P3-D65(D60 sim.) and as ODT the Rec709. So, no Luts needed to get contrast and colors back, and the footage looks very similar to professional cams. And of course, you can add any grading in top.
You should mention that those last two options under the three circles icon are only available for an additional in-app purchase called the cinematographers package
depending on your phone, buy the pack to shoot in 10 bit. probably the most important but not available in free version. shooting 10 bit, log 3, locked in focus and exposure at 24FPS with an anamorphic lens and you have good good quality.
I could do a video on that. :) But what I think it comes down to is personal preference. Like for me, I hate contrast so I usually lower my contrast way down and also remove saturation a bit because my face is as red as a tomato lol

Great tips, I've been struggling to use filmic pro to its full ability and this was a great help! Thank you, you've got a new subscriber.
Tip 11: use a tripod that doesn’t shake uncontrollably.
Seriously though, good video

@@CollinMichael yeah I was saying to myself: “Somebody send this dude an actual tripod so he doesn’t have to use a light stand” 😂
Beautifully Explained each point

This is a really good explanation of Filmic Pro and thank you for writing it as well. I enjoyed watching your video.
Best vid, quick and to the point. Before watching amateur, after monetizing on video...good looks!
I would have like to have seen a comparison between the normal iphone camera vs what it looks like with the lens and filmic pro settings :)
Me too
That would be amazing
Normal iphone looks like a hot mess. Any pro camera or cam that gives access to manual settings will always do a better job
Well done, thanks for the tips!

Excellent. But your camera is like moving back and forth on your stand. Would you not be better on a regular tripod? I mean I’m just sayin’. :)))
good stuff. Do you have a tips on color grading?
I could do a video on that. :) But what I think it comes down to is personal preference. Like for me, I hate contrast so I usually lower my contrast way down and also remove saturation a bit because my face is as red as a tomato lol
