Best tutorial on any industry on UA-cam. No detail left untouched, clear but without overdoing it. And loved the tone and style of voice. Thanks! Wish every tutorial of anything would be done like you did!
***** 5 Stars! An excellent tutorial on all the attributes of Filmic Pro. Good unhurried narration at an even pace, without an annoying music track in the background. One small point about the stabilization (36:10) - when shooting outdoors in windy conditions with my iPhone 7 Plus mounted on a tripod, the video images appear mildly shaky as the stabilizer software tries to correct for any tiny movements or vibrations. Switching OFF the stabilzation in this situation I have found produces smoother video.
In all seriousness, not all hero’s wear capes! Your ability to break down video for newbies is unreal! I really appreciate you and I am happy to buy any course you offer,
The simple addition of, "why use this setting," is so helpful to understanding each setting and theirs best uses, thanks for your very detailed explanations, that are truly very useful!
This is excellent! I was able to learn the basics in other videos, but still had questions after watching them... whereas your video has gone into detail on the questions I had. Thank you! Appreciate your in-depth video and sharing your knowledge on Filmic pro!
I don't ever comment on videos but I love you.... I am only 10 minutes in and I am nerding out with your FREAKIN SUPER DETAILED AWESOMENESS! I'll update this once I'm done. Thank you....
This has got to be the most informative video on Filmic Pro I have seen yet! I am going to save this and refer to it when I need certain information for a shoot. Thanks again!
Yes! The only tutorial that covers EVERY setting, adjustments, and explains every item on the interface. For instance, I couldn't find info anywhere that the letters and numbers on the top left indicate the encoding rate and recording time left.
Absolutely brilliant, as a former software application engineer, I know how much effort goes into making this type of tutorial. This is crisp and concise well done. Looking forward to trying this out on my new iphone 12 Pro Max and PolarPro LiteChaser Directors kit.
I truly appreciate this complete tutorial. You went through all the details there's nothing left untouched. This is the DEFINITIVE tutorial on Filmic Pro. THANK YOU.
One more time, it is an outstanding job. I also love the knowledge you transferred along with the function of the application (e.g the color behavior). It is so useful, especially for freshmen who start filming with a bunch of theories and got confused where they are applicable. Now I can say: "Here is where you find it and how it works" :D. A big thank to your work!
i know a few messages but I really want to thank you for sharing all of your extremely valuable knowledge so freely.. I dont know how many times I have revisited you videos to hammer in the info to my tired old brain
Thank you! I've been using Filmic Pro for about 8 months now, which was also the beginning of my experience with photography in general. This review helped me to pick up on some knowledge I missed the first time around. I was also looking for the best way to load Filmic files onto my Mac (Big Sur) without loss of quality--can't wait to use Air Drop! I never even thought of doing this until listening to your video.
Outstanding. Just got a Smooth 5 and downloaded Filmic Pro. In just a few hours I've gone from what the f*** to this is going to make my 5 country Euro vacation in 3 weeks epic!!!
Thank you for making me understand why my mobile were not recording any sound anymore. It was driving me crazy trying to figure out what was wrong. Indeed I had accidentally touched the tiny little audio slider below the time stamp! Today I will reshoot the humble bee clip I was making. Looks like great flying weather. Thanks again.
This was seriously so helpful! I’ve been using Filmic Pro for a couple of months, and this gave me way more information than my trial and error learning. Thank you!!
Just had to say thanks for this and all your other tutorials, by far the most comprehensive and relaxed style out there, a pleasure to watch and learn by.
Thank You for your awesome tutorial!! I just received my iPhone 13 Pro Max and just came across your tutorial. I can't wait to dive into all of this!! You did an incredible job here and I sincerely appreciate every second! Thank you...... THANK YOU!!! 👍😊
Just downloaded the app. This was valuable to me. I will have to go back and adjust a couple of the basic setup values now that you have explained their functions. My guesses were often correct, but some need correction. Overall, 5 star video. I especially appreciated the clarity and speed of your narration. Fine work, much appreciated.
Fantastic tutorial Simon, thank you very much. All details covered in an “easy to consume” way. Definitely one of the best of its type on UA-cam, absolutely brilliant!
This is the most epic simple to understand but detailed too people who skipped this video they don't know what they are missing great work sir a lot of respect sir thanks for everything
@Simon - what can I say? That is the most exhaustive and thorough run-through I think I've ever seen. But rather than being boring or soporific, your excellent diction and well-modulated voice makes for compelling viewing and learning. Thank you for this - I find this type of presentation way better for learning (for me) than any amount of printed manuals! Exceptional work...!
This is without a doubt one of the best tutorial videos i've ever seen. Thank you so much for the detailed, very well explained and fantastic presentation of it.
Thank you so much for a very detailed explanation of Filmic Pro, very clear👍 I appreciate it so much. For sure I will always watch this to learn more of this Filmic pro.
WOW thanks a ton. After installing filmic pro was trying to find a good tutorial for android phone. This video was a great help. Keep the good work going. Thanks for taking the time to explain. ( painfully taking 1 hour to timestamp so we can go back and review specific things. ) Thanks again.
Honestly sir thanks for taking your time to edit this video and explaining no one ive seen out in youtube here is foing what you are, and i cant wait to see how filmic pro works on the galaxy s21 ultra
A great explanation of this "must have" have suite of Apps to get the best out of your camera on the phone. One thing not mentioned is that when filming in Dolby Vision the 3 scopes do not function. this is because Dolby films so brightly that it will blow the scopes and maybe max the operator adjust the ISO and ruin the picture. The DoubleTake and Firstflight Apps are also with a mention. Well done!
Thanks for this, your efforts are well appreciated (why 29 people give it the thumbs down, I'll never know). It's informative and explains everything in great detail. I watch, I listen, I learn. Once again, thank you.
Hi James, would you know how to restore the Audio controls because my App is in mute everytime I record and I cant see my audio meter anymore,,,,, How to restore? Please help. Thanks.
Great tutorial! I was using the pro setting in Note20, to be able to use a Bluetooth mic. But it loses a lot of video quality, and has no access to wide-angle lens. It will improve a lot on my content quality. Thanks
Brilliant video! Very clear explanation with no hype! Thank you for taking that hour for the timestamps, they make this video a valuable reference. I was having trouble getting my S9 with the latest filmic pro to talk to the slider switch on the side in order to cycle through the modes. Finally I switched the DJI OSMO mobile switch (in hardware) off and then on again. It seems to have done the trick! 😎
Thank you so much,, You taught me a new skill and a new way to use something that i have never done before... I learned and applied it immediately ,,, A Lot of love
This is one of the best videos that I have seen on Filmicpro. Thank you so much for giving every detail possible. Would truly appreciate if you could make a video on shooting in Dolby vision and colour grading it.
This video is just amazing! Thank you for taking the time to put together this thorough video tutorial. I'm using my iPod Touch 6 so it has less features but I'm still amazed at what I can do with it.
Hi Simon, me again. I have a larger focus reticule than yours, and its is not moveable. I am using an Apple iphone 12 Pro Max. Am I doing something wrong. Thank you for answering all my previous questions. I am seriously trying to use Filmic Pro now. Many thanks Terry Davis
Thanks so much for this complete tutorial. I have a quick question please. I updated my Filmic Pro app yesterday (new version 6.16.0). When I select the selfie lens or ultra wide lens, I have no option to manually focus. The focus reticle is locked (red). Focus option is grayed out in the focus ring as well. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong?
Bravo. Great work, many thanks. Filmic is very good except it is a shame there is no motion blur shutter speeds for time lapse. I only found this out after I purchased it. Moving on the Moment Pro Camera now.
Question! I have a pretty small room to film in, so I use the wide lens on my iPhone 12 mini! I use filmic pro as well. My question is this! If I purchased a clip on (or whatever) external wide lens and placed it over the standard camera, would I be able to get the depth of field on it? I only ask as I know you can’t do this with the ultra wide camera setting in Filmic pro.
Excellent tutorial! Now I know exactly how to configure FilmicPro on my phones. So far I've been playing by the ear, more or less 😃 I instantly subscribed to your channel too.
I've often wondered why I can't get that dreaded tone mapping adjustment to lock in, as too Not get exposure adjustments when panning through a room with bright windows and darker parts of the room. Thought perhaps my exposure lock was not working properly but appears its more of the "Tone-Mapping" problem that can't be turned off with IOS devices, as you note here. So helpful with that bit of info! Certainly learning a bit more of what Filmic Pro can do now, so thanks for this in-depth tutorial! Wonder if Apple will give us this function eventually, to be able to turn off tone-mapping. Also never knew you can move the Reticles.
This is so helpful! I like the way you explain all this. Thank you for these instructions. This will definitely facilitate and improve the next shooting. I like your guidelines, keep it simple and... exciting! I've had FilmicPro in my iPhone without knowing much of the features it had. Or maybe I was scared because there seemed to be so many... Thanks again!
Antes que todo excelente video. Una consulta el contador de abajo el que está en el medio sigue marcando , cómo si estuviera reproduciendo, eso es normal?

Good job
Many, many thanks!!

This is one of the best tutorials I’ve seen on UA-cam. Clear, easy to understand. Filmic Pro should give you huge props.
Indeed. They should be paying him since he's done their job for them.
@@wattage2007 as the line from the movie says, “…pay the man his money!”

Well done!
One of the most useful videos available for our industry - thanks so much !

Very thorough and easy to understand tutorial. Best of seen on Filmic ... Cheers
Thank you so much! I’ve been using FilmicPro for over a year and learned some new things about how to use it better.
Thanks
This is a brilliant video. So much clarity in your explanations and to the point with pertinent information.
Thank you for this video. Been looking for a tutorial like this for a while now.
Months down the track. Kudos for the work undertaken. Onya! Very helpful for new users of Filmic Pro :)
This is a great presentation. Thanks. I've forwarded it to a friend who teaches filmmaking at a college not far from NYC.
Awesome, thank you!
What are the best settings for slow motion in filmic pro. With iPhone 11. Excellent tutorial, thanks
DUDE. This is is so great! Watched the whole thing, and will probably be referencing it as I learn more about this app. Thank you!
Thank you so much,, You taught me a new skill and a new way to use something that i have never done before... I learned and applied it immediately ,,, A Lot of love

Absolutely amazing quality and completeness. Well done, thanks a lot
Best filmic pro tutorial on youtube. Thank you
Beautifully explained and mentioning again the most soothing voice! Thank you

I enjoy all of your videos, and this one was particularly wonderful!
Magnificent video! Extremely helpful! Thanks for all your efforts! They're much appreciated!
Awesome Content! My work has improved so much thanks to your concise ,easy to understand (and entertaining) videos! Keep up the great work!
I am so impress by the way you teach and I am learning so much, thank you!!!
Bravo. Great work, many thanks. Filmic is very good except it is a shame there is no motion blur shutter speeds for time lapse. I only found this out after I purchased it. Moving on the Moment Pro Camera now.
Incredible Filmic Pro detail video, very impressive, thank you for sharing!
Priceless! THANK YOU for such a clear and thorough walkthrough!
Watched it twice and thank you very much. Excellent.
Excellent tutorial! Now I know exactly how to configure FilmicPro on my phones. So far I've been playing by the ear, more or less 😃 I instantly subscribed to your channel too.
thank you and welcome aboard! 😃
Excellent Tutorial! You guys are “Reticles!”
Thank you so much for making this video. I can’t imagine how much time it took. What an achievement. 👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you Sir, I learned filmic pro in no time.
I wish I had found out this video quite earlier... it has generated a lot of my interest in the subject. Thanks for motivating people like me👌
