  • This time, we're looking for alligators on South Carolina's riverfront! The North Augusta Greeneway, championed by former Mayor Thomas Greene, offers interesting bridges and trails, a Fit Trail, and the Brick Pond Park. Enjoy the peaceful, easy feeling of this classic rail trail just steps from the Savannah River.

When we bought our bikes last year one of our goals is to travel to New places and if necessary to spend the night, see the sites and ride a new trail. Last year we made our way up to Blacksburg, VA a 6 hr drive, saw some friends and rode the Huckleberry Trail. Great trail!

Thank you! I have sort of pulled the rip cord on “organized” religion myself due to disappointments surrounding a unwanted divorce (following a lengthy marriage). I’ll figure things out…eventually…

Great videos, I have done road cycling since I was in HS. I lived in North Augusta for a fee years of my childhood. Attended kindergarten and half of my first grade year. My dad ran the National Hill Theater, and loved Schwartz Pizza in the same shopping center. Have not been back to the area in 40+ years. Currently live a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Roan Mountain.

LOVE this video! Depending on the length of the trail (yes, we are trail snobs - but let me explain!) we will drive anyway from 1 - 1.5 hours if we can do it in one day. If it is a longer trail we probably would drive a little further and stay overnight. We have traveled all over the country riding trails making it our vacation and loving it! BTW - in the opening of your video I IMMEDIATELY noticed that Greenway was spelled wrong and could not believe you did catch that BUT then came the explanation! Keep up the great work - very entertaining, informative, spiritual and just feel good videos!!!

Nice video . I never really thought about how far I’m willing to travel for a trail . I think it’s largely gonna be based on length . My average rides are about 30 -40 miles . I’d probably travel up to 100 miles for a decent trail even if it’s short .

I'm getting ready to retire and hope to visit many of the bike trails in surrounding states. I live in WVa and currently ride the North Bend Rail Trail and the Greenbrier River Trail. My past trips have taken me only two hours away from home at most. That's about to change. I really enjoyed your video on the Virginia Creeper Trail and plan to do that in October.

Thank you for showcasing my beautiful home town, I've lived here for 55 years and it's just a great community to be a part of. The Sprint convenience store is where the Greeneway originated from many years ago and has expanded over the years to include the Savannah Riverfront area and SRP Park. I've always found it beneficial living on the border of 2 states, North Augusta SC provides the close home town feel but Augusta GA offers great shopping, delicious restaurants, higher wages and provides excellent healthcare in the many hospitals located downtown in the "medical district".

Didn't know the city expanded the Greenway north under I-20. Left in 2011. Trail follows the old Georgia & Florida railway line which terminated in Greenwood S.C. I can still remember seeing rail wagons being put in and out of storage when the S.C. spur was used back in the late 60's.
The cage bridge used to be an old wooden trestle that the North Augusta High Schoolers would hang signs on over Martin Town Rd. taunting the current opposing high school football team being played that week. Of course the city leaders put a stop to that by caging the bridge after one class tried to keep up the tradition after the trestle was replaced.
Never thought little old N.A. would be on YT. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

However, ours say "Zombie Warning"! "Be Zombie Safe", do not approach, Feed or Harass the Zombies!🧟 🧟‍♀. Lol, I figure it just depends on where you live as to what "wildlife" you might find...

On the back seat of my car. Worst $75 I ever spent. I came of age and started loving bikes back in a time when there was no such thing as bike helmets.
