"Spirit-forward guests" is hilarious! The easiest way to separate eggs is just using your cupped fingers as a separator. Works great. All these years and I just discovered that hack!
I missed this one! Egg nog is so good, but I typically use it in baking like you’ve been doing. I can’t say I’ve had a straight eggnog drink in a LOMG time!
I love eggnog. There's a recipe that uses 2 parts bourbon to 1 part Fernet Branca. I want to try it because I think that it'll be good, and I'm never use what to do with Fernet!
@@SavidgeKitchen I found it interesting that you didn't warm the milk/egg/cream mixture. The recipes I have seen call to do that. Was that a decision on your part or did your recipe say that? Genuinely curious
...so just wondering about the Raw Egg thing... does the alcohol negate raw egg bacteria? Are there some recipes that cook on low, the whole concoction on the stove first? LOVE eggnog...we usually serve it with rum but this sounds good too!
I don't think I'll ever make egg nog, but I had a blast watching you do it! I might pick up some of the coconut store bought stuff if I see it though. I've never even had egg nog, so I'm not sure if I like it or not.
Thank you! As much as I LOVE bacon, and bacon bourbon, I don't know how I feel about it with eggnog. I think maybe some chocolate covered bacon as a snack to go with the eggnog. You know, to really give the ole arteries a run for their money. LOL! Cheers :)
You definitely need more booze! The recipe I use is the same amount of dairy, but plus two eggs, a little more sugar and 1.5 cups of booze (2 parts brandy, 1 part rum)! I let it age three weeks in a dark bottle to let the flavors meld together and kill any bacteria.
Need and want are two very different things ;) Do I want more? Absolutely! But you only need more if you are planing on doing an Aged Eggnog (which is super fun and delicious, and not what this recipe is designed for). This recipe is easily adjustable to suit many tastes, and even works without any alcohol at all. The big disclaimer here being use FRESH eggs, ala Rocky. Cause salmonella is not what anyone wants for Christmas 🥃😂
@@SavidgeKitchen Cocktail chemistry’s eggnog vid the second eggnog of the three he does from memory, it’s so good and it gets better with age, I’m sure you will love it. Keep up the good work.
great holiday classic ❄🌲🤶
Thanks, Chappy!! 🥃🎄

Giving me hella "Behind The Bar with Cara Devine" and "Food 52" vibes. Very nice!
Hah! I’ll take it- love both those channels. 🥃❤️
Oh wow! I love the idea of non dairy w/coconut. I haven’t bought a store bought big in years! So yum!
I really think that’s gonna be great. Gonna try it out for a holiday party tonight.
Eggnog and bourbon can't go wrong!
Like peas n carrots…

I totally feel you with the egg whites I had so much of a channel off camera doing that
Jess, This was a lot of fun to watch :)
Thank you, David!! It was fun to make too :)
This was so fun to watch. Great video Jess. Need to try this recipe one day.
Or come to visit - really like the amounts you pour 😍 Cheers!
PETER!!!
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail Hey Tim. How are you doing man?
Thanks, Peter!! My pour was a bit much… but then again, this whole year has been a bit much 😂😂 Cheers, my friend!!
You really did a great job 👏
Well done 👏
Thank you so much!! 🥂

That sounds interesting! I bet the heavy sweetness of the eggnog plays nice with the Fernet- definitely worth trying!
Great idea! Love that!
Very nice! Made my first homemade egg nog earlier this week and I concur...so much better than store bought
I was really surprised at how big the difference is! Makes the store bought stuff seem undrinkable in comparison.

😂 I’m nothing if not entertaining! That brand I used is “SO Delicious”. I’ve had a couple non-dairy brands, but that one is my fav. Really tasty!
Great job 😉 !! What'd ya think about using bacon Bourbon ???🥳🥳🥳🥳

@@SavidgeKitchen Nice....thanks for responding, you inspired me to fat wash
Not only bourbon, but Everclear too....crazy. thanks 😁
Well at least all the trouble was worth it. That said, remind me to never ask you to make me an omelette. 😂
Oh, I can make a killer omelet. But about 12 eggs will be lost in the process 🤣
Looks tasty! New sub here for sure =)
Welcome! And thank you so much!! 🥃
'not today Satan!' sometimes the ingredients don't want to work with you, but it looks like the effort spent taming them wasn't wasted!

Adding turmeric gives the nog a darker tone.
Love eggnog not a bourbon fan tho, I make an eggnog with sherry and tequila which is great that I saw on UA-cam
ooooooh, tequila in eggnog. Never tried that!! Definitely going to experiment...
