@3:05 Ryan - thank you for the motivation and encouragement. I'm in your shoe in term of weight snd need to reduce that down to avoid health complications in near future.
Howdy, Thanks for watching. We also found Ryan's story and journey super inspiring. We always love to hear stories of how the bicycle changes people's life's. We are all on our own journey and it sounds like you and working on yours. Hopefully you find the same magic on a bicycle that many others have discovered. We are totally behind you!!! Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Hey Greer, Yeah..that guy was interesting. Certainly not your average RAGBRAI rider but had a great story and purpose of his own for being there. We saw him several times during the week and always wondered what he was carrying in the grocery sack on his handlebars, but forgot to ask while we were chatting with him. Mb thinks he was picking up trash along the route. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride
What a great day for a bike ride! The Griswold Wagon was awesome, especially with Aunt Edna on top! Your conversation with John (28:08) was interesting in that he mentioned the "Party" reputation of RAGBRAI. There was a time, I think in the 80's, that was a real issue for RAGBRAI. A new director, Jim Green was his name, made an effort to tone down the party aspect and make RAGBRAI more family friendly as it is today. Jim Green was also a part of The Dream Team for kids.
Hey Craig, It was a great day. Overall the weather this year was very pleasant. Griswold gets my vote for the best theme and best theme execution for this year's RAGBRAI. Of course I'm probably a bit bias since National Lampoon's Vacation movies are some of my favorites. I was astonished by the family truckster wagon and the level of detail someone put into it. It was spot on. We've heard stories and read articles about the "party phase" of RAGBRAI. We're quite happy with how it plays out now...if you don't want to drink or dive down a slip-n-slide, just keep pedaling. Jim Green did the entire thing a huge service and we are huge fans of The Dream Team. As always, thanks for watching, we appreciate it. Enjoy the Ride
Thanks for the video! Cool seeing Dave from Padre's Cycle Inn, I've used them twice for RAGBRAI awesome business. I'm pretty sure you told last year when I saw you guys working the beer stand you were related. I hope to use @Padre's Cycle Inn for their Michigan ride next year.😊
Hey Dave, Yes, it's always great to see Dave and hear about how Padre's Cycle Inn is growing their business and events coverage. We'd love to do the bourbon rides they offer as well as some of the other rides including the Michigan ride your interested in. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride
Hey Corey, The GAP and C&O are on our list of future rides. Really looking forward to it. I'll bet it was a good warmup for Iowa. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride
Howdy, Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We have really enjoyed the drone and the footage we get from it. Unfortunately I crashed mine on Day 3 and essentially destroyed it so there isn't much drone footage for the second half of RAGBRAI. I've replaced it, but they aren't cheap. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Back in 99 or 2000 one of the “Family Truckster” props was on auction At the Kruse auction in Auburn, seriously debated going in to bid. Talking it over with some people, I got the advice that it would probably go for 20 or $25,000, so I said that’s a little much for a hobby car. Found out it went for less than $3,000, missed opportunity…😢
Hey Kenneth, Wow....that would have been a fun car to own. I wonder if the car they had on display in Griswold was one of those prop cars because the detail was amazing. If not, I can't imagine loving that movie so much you put that much work and money into creating a replica. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Enjoy the Ride
Hey Harry, I understand you point. Riders must be responsible in the amount of alcohol they consume during the day. In some ways the shorter days are worse for alcohol consumption because people have more time to spend at the towns and beers stops. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride
28,000 riders and I never saw a drunk rider. Likewise at camp I never saw an intoxicated RAGBRAI participant. Seems like riders are pretty responsible, at least in the years I’ve ridden RAGBRAI. Are there biking accidents, yes but given there are that many riders, unfortunately there are some, but it is a very few. Each year I’ve only seen a handful and none involving alcohol. Be great if there were none, but certainly with that many riders it’s worth noting that the occurrences are very few and far in between. I’m certainly not alarmed by the alcohol or rare crashes, looking forward to next year! I think you’ve focused on the tiny bit of negative that could be occur vs the 99.99999% of the amazing experience that is RAGBRAI.
