I have a white 1980 Golden Hawk CJ-7 with 18,787 original miles. Fully loaded including 304 V8 , granny 4 speed transmission, AC, PDB, Tilt , HT , TW Levis interior and roll bar cover and the rarest option Ive ever heard of a AMC / Jeep Logo CB radio and AM/FM 4 speaker radio ....I bought it from the original owner ( my grandpa ) 9 years ago with 7,281 original miles for $1 and cutting the grass . And I recently bought a maroon 78 Golden Hawk Edition Cherokee Chief with 401 / 4 speed granny and 46,982 original miles. It cost me more than the CJ-7 though 😀
Yep, though I missed ordering the 76 TA SPECIAL :: ordering a 77 HURST Hatch LOADED “IN OCT 1976....... “.... Kind of wish I could have saved it ....though we used it “”77 TA “. FOR 15 years plus, high touring, & Family , use.....etc.
Amazing that CJ-7. Great condition and great looking Jeep. Dennis, impressive your knowledge about everything that surrounds a Jeep. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, interestingly I missed ordering a 76 SPECIAL ED **TA, ORDERING A 77 HURST hatch LOADED(* supposedly PONTIACs RARE BIRD, THEy MADE thousands of them) in OCT 1976, and getting from Hurst Michigan (?) minus pinstripes in MAR 1977.......incidentally my HURST HATCHES SEEPED water, CONSTANTLY INTO body / etc, .. Anyhows, I always like the “77 HURST TA”, LOOKS the best...* though would have preferred a loaded 76 LIMITED Ed Loaded / BLACK GOLD.....( I think there were some special WO, ENGINE Trans/ in the 1976;TRANS AM “” order Options RPO’s etc),,. I worked on 77 a lot of upgrades.....
Pa:: we had a loaded GRAND CHEROKEE FOR couple years 96-98 ( ? Half forgotten):: loved it for lot’s of touring all, over the USA.. Had” freak “ ice slide off into deep, ditch, Totalled body, etc.Scary, though even great Winter Tires ( not **studded , GOODYEAR) and great Driving :: can be **Defeated by overconfidence ( I was going a little “ fast” in ice).....
I’ve talked with Dennis on the phone years ago once hunting Jeep parts and he was the most knowledgeable person ever on any Jeep. Love the coffee walks. Way better personality than his buddy Richard.
Those Trans Am’s really brought back some memories. In that condition is just jaw-dropping. I have been a Pontiac guy since I can remember. At one time, my parent’s driveway had three Pontiac 400’s parked on it. One of them was mine.
My mom had a '77 Black on black 4 spd 400 Trans Am with T-tops. It had the same wheels/tires as the '76 Dennis pulled up in. It was a very awesome car.
Thanks, Dennis & all of the Crew... interestingly, the Trans Ams are / or can be real special.....I special ordered in OCT 76, a 77 Hurst Hatch/ auto/6.6 L/cruise Control,/ TILT/ziebart and got in March 77., Anyways, lot of driving for some 15 years plus before Indiana road Salt got to frame/body etc. **Though that 6.6L(400 ) engine is disappointing from factory,in Horsepower: BEST driver car we ever had ( steering etc is super).. I improved TA ( or seemed to)over the years ( KONIS, TRANSMISSION,bushings/tires,REJET CARb,DIST,etc)...Also, real interesting; I could work on a lot of 77 TA MYSELF, EXCEPTING automatic( which was good THM, rebuilding TO GREAT AUTO.... etc.)... good times. .Also, had a coworker bought: a new 77 Trans Am SE (* less HURST hatches ,”, later GM HATCHES, WITH 4 SPEED/TA 6.6 :: appeared to be in better shape at approximately ten year ++mark((?))..than mine , though much less miles....!!
My first time, great content Dennis. Interesting facts on some great cars and Jeeps. I really appreciate you spending time on these 70’s-90’s era vehicles. Subscribed, keep it coming. Thanks again.
In the late 90's early 2000's I owned an 88' Turbo Coupe loaded with the power moonroof/sun power everything, but a 5spd manual. If you could keep it up on the boost on the 1-2 shift it would beat friends mid 1980's V8 Z28's. If it fell off boost down low I could run by them on the top end like I had 10 to 20 mph higher top speed. Oh, and mine had grey leather seats and a dark/med slate metallic paint. Unique and expensive cars for their day. I'm a classic big block 4spd guy, so was more of a good gas mileage DD.
Back in the mid 70's I had a base model 71 CJ5 (4Cyl F-head, 3 speed, no power anything and drum brakes all around...scary brakes). Loved that Jeep and drove it for many years. Learned to drive in it, took my drivers test to get my license in it, went through HS and College in it and dated the girl that would become my wife (now 36 years!) in it. In the late 80's I was in between jobs and I had to sell it and that was the hardest vehicle sale I ever had to make because I really did not want to part with it. I had full intentions of restoring it back to its original glory and making it my weekend driver. Fast forward and now I am looking to find another CJ5 to restore and have again, but these things have grown so much in price that they appear to be out of my reach. Even barely restore-able Jeeps are going for big money. If I could do it all over again I would have never sold that Jeep...... Anyway, Dennis is an amazing authority on all things Jeep and I love to watch his video and learn something new about the models and brands he shares on every episode. Maybe I will have another CJ and you can bet I will look to this channel and his company for information and parts....until then I am just a happy spectator!
On that Turbo Coupe, I had an '85 and '88 Merkur XR4Ti (sadly sold them in '97 #regret), and the similarity of the engine components is uncanny. Great UA-cam channel, BTW.
Just a little trivia for you as I live in Brampton the factory town up here in Canada eh, the factory was torn down and replaced with a strip plaza featuring a Lowes. My mother used to cash most of the cheques for the workers as she was a teller in the closest bank to the plant.
Pinche Dennis ,me suscribi a tu canal solamente porque amas la obra de arte automotriz llamada Jeep ,el carro más hermoso sobre la faz de la tierra, saludos desde NC
Dated a girl in high school, her daddy bought her a new ‘74 Formula 400, blue w/ white interior and had honeycomb factory wheels. I’ve often wonder what become of that beauty.
When i worked at an auto parts store all the guys called those thunderbirds "turbo turkeys"....lol, they are neat cars though, remind me of bob gliddens pro stock drag car in the 80s
I have an '80 CJ5 with the original Iron Duke. You mentioned all the paperwork was lost on how many were made. Has there been any attempt to rebuild a database?
That body style t-bird is one of my favorite along with the mid sixties t-birds. That T/A at the end... Did that one eventually become Kelsey's? Or is that a different one?
Hi Dennis, I am Indian and will be moving to Canada PERMANENTLY (yaaayy) with my family in less than a year. Just wanted to let you know am a big of your channel! Am in LOVE with retro Jeeps and would be looking to possibly buy an 80s Jeep from you if there were one available at a price that fit my budget. Would love to get a shout out from you.
Hey Dennis I recently bought a 1980 golden hawk it is the color you referred to on the grand wagoner I believe it’s Bordeaux . The jeep had a factory bench seat in it. I’ve never seen one in a jeep before . I would imagine the only golden hawk built with a bench. If there’s anyway to verify this I would love to know. Thanks
I had a, what looked like Forest Green paint 1980 Grand Wagoner Limited. Ugly as it was I miss it. The only thing it wouldn’t pass is a gas station. I couldn’t get the damn thing stuck and I tried. Last mud hole I drove through was headlight deep and it just rumbled it’s way out.
I believe you said the Laredo was the highest priced package in the 80's CJ7 lineup but I'm pretty sure the 83 CJ7 Limited was top of the line and the most expensive. What are your thoughts? Have you ever seen one?
I just want you to build an early 80's light blue CJ7 Renegade. Then I'd love Mr. Rawlings to build me a 1984 black stepside Chevrolet Scottsdale custom deluxe. Oh man...would this bring me back to my memories with my dad. Miss him dearly.
Hey Dennis, shouldn’t the shaker on that 10th Anniversary T/A say ‘T/A 6.6’? 403’s said ‘6.6 LITRE’ on the shaker. My 10th Anniversary T/A (403 automatic) did.
Pity you don't have any of the Kamm Tail estate/shooting brake pontiacs that were modelled by GM on the N. A. R. T Ferrari shooting brake from the mid 70s.
This guy is the buddy of the owner of Grease Monkey Garage, I knew he was into Jeeps down in the Dallas area, and often wondered when he was going to get his own show.
Dennis do you ever speak to Hagerty The barn find hunter a very good contact Keep making your vids please say hi to Richard Rawlings I will keep watching.
Have you ever heard of a Golden Buffalo I just picked one up for free I was told it was pretty rusty but I can’t find much info on need the help of a professional.!

Def one of my favourite episodes!
Amazing that CJ-7. Great condition and great looking Jeep. Dennis, impressive your knowledge about everything that surrounds a Jeep. Thanks for sharing.
The Golden Hawk Jeep is beautiful but I definitely Love the Grand Wagoneer
1979 10th Annv T/A...best looking T/A ever built.

Just found Dennis collins coffee walk a few days ago , now I can’t stop binge watching all the older episodes ! Love it !
I’ve talked with Dennis on the phone years ago once hunting Jeep parts and he was the most knowledgeable person ever on any Jeep. Love the coffee walks. Way better personality than his buddy Richard.
That opening Trans Am is now front runner on my GM Wishlist….
🔥
The interior of that Thunderbird will make a person go blind.
Two amazing cj’s, thanks for sharing all of you knowledge about those two rare models
Those Trans Am’s really brought back some memories. In that condition is just jaw-dropping. I have been a Pontiac guy since I can remember. At one time, my parent’s driveway had three Pontiac 400’s parked on it. One of them was mine.
Wow. See my comments
Great collection Dennis I have a 1972 CJ that I bought from the original owner and it was a rare find.
That golden hawk is unreal, beautiful they need to remake this with the color scheme.
Another great coffee walk video ! Jeeps and Trans Ams, it doesn’t get much better than this !
Great finds Dennis, especially the T-Bird! Those were really space age in their day but nowhere near as fast as my Buick GNs!
Jesus Christ is Lord and Savor
My mom had a '77 Black on black 4 spd 400 Trans Am with T-tops. It had the same wheels/tires as the '76 Dennis pulled up in. It was a very awesome car.
Thanks for this info. Very informative. Looking forward to more of these. In particular Jeeps.
The Turbo Coupes were pretty damn good cars from that era. Great highway cruisers and extremely comfortable. Great looking one you have there!
Just found this channel. Great channel!
Dennis I love the black on black T/A and NO T-Tops wish I could have it . That’s when cars were built
Loving these videos!
OUTSTANDING!
Love the coffee walks!
All awesome vehicles Dennis! Thanks for sharing!
We always had jeeps in my family since 1978. Wish I still had them.

This guy is in his own world

I remember seeing these jeep waggoners for the first time in 78 at the NEC in Warwickshire in the UK.
My first time, great content Dennis. Interesting facts on some great cars and Jeeps. I really appreciate you spending time on these 70’s-90’s era vehicles. Subscribed, keep it coming. Thanks again.
Man you have some cool cars. Thanks for showing.
I got a great old CJ that you need to see!
I’m a Chevy guy but that silver Trans Am is sweet!!
Awesome KZEW jacket (0.55 on the timeline) !!!👍👍👍
I have a restored 1986 Jeep CJ7 Laredo with the factory Dana 44 rear axle instead of the crappy AMC 20 that most came with it. Love my Jeep.
Nice guy :) I like him ....
Excellent video Denis very informative article thanks 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
That jamboree and the 3 wheel are really cool.
That turbo Thunderbird in the background caught my eye. Love that body style. Keep doing what you’re doing.💖 it.....
Those Jeep’s are rad, but that Turbo Coupe is bad ass!

Coolest car show on UA-cam

I’ve often wonder what become of that beauty.
Beautiful starlight black bird, I have a 79. Oh. There was a jeep in the video?
Same here, see my comments
You can really tell he’s passionate about rigs. His buddy Rich is just a money man, but nothing wrong with that either.
The Tbird turbo with only 9k miles is my favorite.
Back in the early 90s I worked at a Lincoln/Mercury and we called those t-birds " Super Chickens". Great cars.
What about Thunder Chicken?
@@7viewerlogic670 another good name
When i worked at an auto parts store all the guys called those thunderbirds "turbo turkeys"....lol, they are neat cars though, remind me of bob gliddens pro stock drag car in the 80s

what kind of jeep was it the Daisy Duke, from the Duke Boys have?

A 25k to 50k swaggy is gonna run about 25 grand and more if it runs and is nice

What are your thoughts?
Have you ever seen one?
