- At 57 years young, Dave H. trains at The Cellar Gym 5 days per week doing a variety of classes: Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He may have training partners that are half his age, but Dave has no trouble keeping up and he believes his martial arts training is easier on his body than other exercise options he has explored.
Dave is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been training at The Cellar Gym in Minneapolis for over 4 years.

Easy on my joints, I thought that was funny.
Right on Dave. I found my way back to Shotokan at 57 after, 40+ years? Holy Crap. First few weeks Sensei and myself didn't think I was going to make it. First anniversary this April. Can't quit now.
Keep it up! Martial arts for life!
I am close to 62, and now train 2-3 times per week in BJJ. I won't say it is exactly tough on the joints, except for the sprained pinky finger. I do get to enjoy some general hurt all over for whatever reason, but nothing that I can't live with. Training does activate your body and is definitely a must do for me.
The hurt overall means you are working your muscles all over your body. Ache is good, instant pain is not, I hope your BJJ journey is still happening and wish you all the luck.
Oss brother. Keep training!
well... to be honest it is hard on the joints. especially fingers.
that's awesome...
good job man
I am sorry for the very stupid question
You have been training for 13 years right?, well at least 8?
