This metal detector has been one that has triggered interest in me ever since it was launched and it has always been on my radar to give it a few hours on fields that have been well detected.

Awesome day out Graeme. I agree with you about the headphones. I use the Garrett Z Lynk system on all of my detectors other that my Nox 800 and it does very good!

Looks a very capable of machine, especially in those very dry conditions, thanks for the test Graeme. Be interesting to see if the 540 can find any signals in the same area that the 440 missed.

Looks like an amazing machine. That silver locket looked interesting. The wireless headphones is a valid criticism considering most detectors coming about now have them

The 540 has bluetooth headphones and a backlit display. But for my money the 440 does everything I want it to....

I have a large arable permission that is riddled with small aluminium seed pots ( about 21/2inch diameter). What would you suggest to discriminate against these, or is that difficult without losing too much.

@@paulwaddington2615 yes you can notch out those particular items but it may also take out fine jewellery too so experiment if you can

Jigger, it would be the vanquish all day long, the multi frequency platform is far superior to the old garrett tech

Great video Graeme and its a proper doer that 440 some great finds there, was so close to getting one when I started out 👍🏻

Having great difficulty with getting permissions which I'm guessing my age(28) is having a huge effect on land owners finding it difficult to trust me for some reason(i look like im >20). Anyways did lots of testing in my garden and found lots of nails and a chicken bone that's it 😅
