A massive thank you Dan, spent the time watching the video then pressing pause in all the right places to set up the manticore for the first time. Went out for an hour today before rain stopped play but had 2 coins and 3 buckles :)
Awesome finds! All are bucket listers for me. I appreciate that you are showing the screen and your settings. I am traveling from USA to England to detect with my Manrocore in October. Gives me an idea of numbers and the type of items associated with them. Good luck with your next hunt.
Just got my manticore. I ran across your channel, and noticed Norfolk in the display. Where I was born was Norfolk. Sculthorpe to be exact. About 1971 I was 13 in Oxfordshire around Steeple Aston. I ordered a $29.00 metal detector from Montgomery Ward catalog. Of course, my yank parents kidnapped me and took me to USA against my will, boo hoo. But I'm here in California, getting old, and I eventually bought an old town site called Grizzly Flats. I've found some cool stuff. It's a gold mining town, in fact the first in Sierra Nevada, according to a book that features my property. My GPZ 7000 made me grow tired of digging boot tack tips at 3' deep. lol. Square nails everywhere. I have the E trac, and it helped a bit. But I think this Manticore will be fun. I have to say, I miss swinging for them roman coins in ole Blighty. I bet I was one of the first detectorists in UK back then, as far as an amature. Always a day late and a dollar short it seems. I'll enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for posting.
@homesculptor you really couldn't of been born much closer to where I live, if you tried 😲. Sculthorpe is literally a stones throw away from me 👍. Great pert of the world here, steeped in history, and of course, plenty of roman coins 👍. Best of luck with your Manticore mate, I think you are going to love it. No more digging iron, once you get you ferrous limits set up right 😉
Oh Karl, I really felt your pain there pal…..and I’ve been there before mate. There’s plenty of theories, and your one on there being too much air in the soil shortly after it’s been turned is a valid one. Likewise, hard to know if no-one really has been there before….night hawking etc used to be so popular back in the day. One of my theories is that the plough continues to turn the soil and for a while drives some of the history lower until it eventually turns and comes back up after a coil few different harvests….but I’m no expert. Sometimes you’ve just gotta get lucky & walk over it. All that said, I still enjoyed a good honest video, and your pleas to the gods are very common here too pal! Keep going!!
Awesome video Dan! Fantastic finds as always like that James, which is stunning! So many awesome tips too! Thanks for video as always! Hopefully see you soon! 😂👍
Hi Dan, good field that, lots of targets, some nice bits of silver, those hammy's are tiny, this thing about holed hammered coins being classed as treasure because they were worn as jewelry is an odd one really, pockets were non existent in medieval times and people either had there money in bags or threaded onto string, it certainly wouldn't be jewelery, shame that fibula was broken, it would have been huge, great video mate and liked. ATB Bill and Julie X 👍😊❤
Hello from America, brother! Bring some electrical tape with you to the field if you're going to collapse the rods like that so you can securely tape the coil wire down once they are extended. That loose wire is undoubtedly the cause of some of your noise. Cheers!
Thank you guys, it's a mega machine 👌. Not overly impressed with the headphones, but that's doesn't stop the machine being as good as it is 👍. Take care and good luck out there
Hi Dan. Another great hunt. I also use the manticore. Having watched all the vids I can the problem with falsing on nail's can only be resolved by lowering the sensitivity down to around 16, that will cause loss of a lot of the deaper targets which I've tried. Hopefully minelab will bring further updates to correct this soon. Still a great machine, have dug up so many more targets with it on most of my fields.
Love your Fede ring in the intro, I found one last month n actually in the searcher magazine this month with it! I’m still trying to get the manticore sorted to!
I had my manticore for 5 days , updated to the new software and lost all my depth , could not see a silver dime at 4” , tried all settings, stabilizer no stabilizer , sensitivity at 26 and higher , open screen etc etc , minelab finally told me to send it in for repair or replace , there has been others as well that has these issues after the software update. ,
Marie isn’t happy with you Dan! She got a hat trick of hammies and then you go and beat her with one of your own 😆 great hunt mate! That land is insane!! Surprised the finds all survived though with the amount you kept dropping them 😆 least you’ve got the tools to find them again if you didn’t see where they dropped 😆 awesome video as always! Have a great weekend mate :)
Wow amazing day that Dan. I’m starting to warm to the manti as I have just bought the legend mate. Cu on the giveaway tomorrow buddy. Thanks in advance for all my prices lol 👍👍
Can I ask, Is the 2d screen the game changer, ie, is it better than the therrous check on let's say the legend or even nox 900? And would you have dug those hammered with the Legend/or any other machine?
@@DiggerDanMetalDetecting Great video today Dan, your love of the coutryside really shines in this one and your enthusiasm for the hobby is infectious 👍 Top work mate, keep em coming! Also how cool would "Mega Brooch" have been if it came up whole!! Crazy size that one!
so nice to see that you put screen shots in so we can see the dot and numbers and depth its like being there , and a great way for us to learn ,each time a see you using the manticore the more i think it will be my up grade go to , is it heavy to swing all day ?
You're welcome mate, glad the videos help 👍. I've always shown the screen and called out numbers as I think it's a great help for people to learn the tones etc 👍. The manticore is a great machine, very well balanced too, so doesn't tire you out much from swinging it 👌
OK Dan you might of been better off buying the nox 900 because it's just the same machine in my eyes but you pay a lot more for the manticore and all you get is more confusion on the screen ,like you said you know when you got a coin on the 900 and the manticore it'll come up in the 70s and 90s for silver all in between lol just if you can one day try the 900 not much in-between the two of them only the price lol .
@@markhayes5356 that wasn’t an insult mate my apologies if you think it was I had the deus 2 it was never as good as the deus 1 I couldn’t get along with it the manticore is my go to now as well as the ctx 3030
Thanls for the heart but any chance of an answer, i run all metal on the 900 otherwise i found nothing but iron so not criticizing. Manticore in box in hall just delivered so genuine question
Basically, if you have the horse shoe on (all metal mode), it allows you to hear the iron. If you have it off, the iron targets will show an ID, but will be silent. If you have a discrimination pattern set, then turning the horse shoe on will turn that pattern off
That's OK mate, there are no discounts on new model detectors anywhere unfortunately. But if you give Jordan from Dragon Detecting a call on 01792 687321 and mention Digger Dan, he will throw in a load of freebies 😉

Brilliant dig DD. That James silver hammy had a rose on one side & a Scottish thistle on the other. Keep 'em comin' mate, cheers, John.
The item found at 28:55 is a Roman key-ring , the ring part has broken off. Good hunting Dan.

Thank you for watching mate. The manticore is amazing 👌
Excellent hunt. Perhaps the large catch plate is from a horse blanket or cloak fastener.
Thank you mate, thats an interesting though 🤔. Never crossed my mind that they may have had brooches on horses 👍

Nice video 👍🏻 Shouldn't T-1 end at 3? To match your ferrous?
Yes it should have mate, if you noticed, I switched over to general fast at the beginning and I hadn't properly set it up in that profile 🤦♂️
👍👍
Are you going to be using the legend again?
Hi Dan, thanks for the upload. I was wondering what your intro tune was.?
Thank you for watching 😁👍. The intro music is a song called "feel like that" by Nordgroove. You can find it on youtube 😉👍
Brilliant will check it out, love it!

Guess all you could afford was the 900 then
@stevenwigmore1805 no I've got a deus 2 aswell pal
And the 900 and many other detectors as you say I can't afford but I have because I can lol.

If you run on all iron(horse shoe) is there any point in messing with iron limits?

❤❤❤❤❤😊
I smashed the like button... and it did not respond! Stayed on 613
headphones are half over hat. might be why winds getting through
just tried the discount code to buy a Manticore, wasnt having any of it. 😞

Yes mate, m.facebook.com/groups/623875628991631/?ref=share
Holed hammered not unequivocally treasure.
Crude hole so probably punched during the recoinage of 1696
Digger Dan? More like Dirty Dan lmao jk
🤣🤣🤣 cheers mate 😉😆
Pineapple! Sure it’s not a Thistle
Hahaha did I say pineapple 🍍 🤣 😅
Walk slower and cover all the ground. You're skipping a lot by your swing rate and pace.
