Every new album you hear from your new favorite band it's always going to sound strange until you listen to it for a few times and then it sounds more familiar

I'm hearing everything from Exile / Transmission / Agents in this song. The transitions between verses, chorus and interludes are impeccable. Their musicianship is ageing like a fine wine.
Kinda picks up where Songs of Armor and Devotion left off. Which took some getting used to, but now has some of my favorites on it. Stoked to hear the whole records

This doesn’t sound anything like core strung out. This sounds like ass later strung out songs. Strung out has great songs on older records (Nowheresville, Ulysses) they have so many bad noodling guitar songs that are wasted tracks the last 3-4 records as well. Way more so than good songs.
Minty! This one’s a powerful homage to traditional Strung out! Album is flawless and the vocals are very … raw and maybe amped up?! It’s definitely different but when you scream along ya still hear the same strung out as always! She good 😌 👍🏻
I love you guys always have . This song was pretty solid after my 3rd listen. In my honest opinion I would love to hear some that old school punk sounds off Another Day in Paradise blended with some of the heavier stuff you been doing on and off since Suburban wasteland onwards.
So different from anything else they’ve done!! I’ve been a diehard fan since Another Day in Paradise and they just continue to evolve and push the boundary of punk rock and metal!! Incredible!

I watch interviews and they all act like nonchalant normal people but their lyrics speak truth to it's sort of like the Simpsons predictive programming type of stuff I've been listening this stuff for like 30 years I love it
Nah the this dude is a damn good drummer too and he pulls off all their shit live just fine. Jordan was great but there’s a lot of good drummers out there lol they are mostly pretty replaceable.
I’d rather listen to Too Close to See, Radio Suicide, Never Speak Again, Misanthropic Principle, Every day, Lost Motel. All of their “Metal” songs are their downfall imo.

I like the heavy sound, the authentic mix with just a tiny bit of imperfection like in the old days. I'm not sure if angry Jason is my favorite Jason but I do appreciate the effort and the angriness of it all. Second verse is much more cohesive than the firts one, lyrically. I'm looking forward to more singalong kind of songs on the album and maybe a solo or two from Rob. Glad you're still here, SO.

I think each era had a point. And it plays a role when you discovered them. E.g. I started with EOSD and then bought all the older ones. And love it as it even back then did not sound like a lot of other (FatWreck) bands with that sound. Everything after was great as well but the last two albums did not catch me as a whole. Great songs in between though.

So either your last contact with them was way back to the first two or three albums and you missed every evolution in the band's sound. Or wait for the album, maybe it's just the single you don't like? Or just cherish the albums/songs you like from their back catalog. See I don't like "new" Rise Against either because I thought their sound was peak for ME at 2nd album (with 3rd and 4th having some songs). But what's the use of letting everyone know constantly via comments? Let be people be excited. I feel like Strung Out is officially out strung. They do have some really great albums. Always been one of my favorite bands, the astrolux was my 1st tattoo and they were one of the first shows I ever saw. But most of their material after 2009/ AOTU doesn't do it for me. They've always been one of my favorite bands to see live, but the last time (opening for nofx's final show at Legends Valley Ohio) they were really off. Maybe it's just me, or maybe that performance alone was an off day..? I hope the next time I see them it's better.
It seems to me that Jason goes max effort in all the recording sessions, and I don't know if anyone's vocal cords could perform like that for an entire performance much less an entire tour. It makes for some amazing albums, and I still enjoy the live shows even if they aren't perfect. It's better than lip sync, if you ask me.
They are my favorite band of all time, I've seen them live at least 20 times, but they have been slightly off (sometimes more than slightly) live since Jordan left in my opinion. I don't fault Jason for vocal strain though, the dude gives it his all each and every show .... I can't believe he's able to do it at all anymore to be honest.
@@Breadking100 Jordan's shoes can never be filled. Not that the new guy is any bad, I actually enjoy a few of his small changes and fills. I 100% agree that they were way better before he left, especially live. Live In A Dive showcases this for those who never saw them with Jordan.
