They wont. Tier 2 at its best.
Youre so wrong about so many things you said... First of all the small guys are good as chainblocks and they are BOTH amazing support because they function as starters which six sam lacked for quite some time... They are basically starters with built in ash protection. Then you have the shien which is busted. Firstly he is nib protect, secondly he is an extender and he is a name... Meaning when you synchro climb now you actually gain 2 counters just off the shi en summon if you have a dojo or smth. Then you have the enishi, which honestly is the worst one of the new support cards... Banishing so many samurais from your gy is very unpractical cause you want to keep most of them in rotation for the gateway loops. Yes loop, plural. Cause something else everyone here is wrong about, is that six sam will build a board. There is literally no reason for the deck not to ftk you through 2 hts with no maindeck bricks at all... And the new six strike card is again a incredible. The fact that it turns on Kizaru in hand or gy even without resolving kageki is really nice... Especially since kizaru can search the new dark samurai.
However the deck will neither be tier 1 nor 0. The problem of the deck was never really handtraps... It was the requirement of playing such a big engine which made it impossible to play enough going second cards to realistically win the game. Yes the book of moon on the new spell is nice but its sadly not enough to solve the going second issue. The only way i see this problem being fixed is with a true king engine. But since baronne ban even that engine, which was by far the best way of playing the deck, is nerfed. The only real way i see six sam getting tier 1 is if they unban mx sabre invoker, which will make the deck so much more consistant that you can realistically cut almost all engine because youre then playing with so many one card combos that its just stupid
2025 here nahh Ryzeal and Tenpai still can kill sams🤣and The worst Blueballswhite dragon still existed so its a death sentence to any sixsamurai deck existed🤣🤣and soo many New deck in 2025 that can simply kill sixsamurai no problem.. but.. sixsamurai on first turn is guaranteed FTK.. 🤣just until the shien dies in one hit by dragons🤣🤣
Enishi is constantly getting underestimated imo, he's a climbing tool
I have respect for Enshi both the effect monster and synchro version.
Enishi is a free body/bushido counter
He can also be quick board wipe via hop ear. If you have hop in hand just leave a level 4 and a free zone on board after your combo and you have a major interaction.

There are easier ways to get an omni negate, most notably by just playing solemn judgment instead of duality.

Honestly? It's absolutely busted, but I actually like the idea of a strong boss monster that other than disrupting, but actually supports the archetype. The new ice barrier dragon is another good example of that.
That's how you make a good archetypal boss monster, it doesn't need to be better than Baronne, it needs to do so much more for your deck then Baronne ever could.
This would be true if it were in any other archetype except the literal war criminal combo deck whose entire gameplan revolves around creating an infinite amount of counters to then do everything under the sun.
Six Sam should never be consistently isolated from nibiru.
Baronne is actually a pretty cool card for fleur since it helps you trigger the destruction effects. Only issue the card has is that it's to generic. If it needed fleur synchron to summon it would be OK/trash tier.

Ice barrier boss is definitely cool and it does stuff for the deck, its just funny that we are at the point where a "good" boss monster is one which summons anti spell fragrance from the deck
@@luminous3558 actually this support transformed the degenerate infinite spam deck that six samurai was into a midrange resilient deck, i know it's hard to believed with how the support looks like but as a 6sam player i'm not relying on gateway anymore, and i'm summoning like 6 times in the main 2 card combo and maybe 12-15 in 3 card combos which is far from the count six sam used to put in before

New Shi En is absolutely busted, but the deck still has no 1 card starters, so you need to invest multiple cards to make it. It's an interesting change of dynamic from something like Snake-Eyes. That doesn't make it healthy, but it's interesting that it's different.
That's why the deck needs Gateway of the Six at 3.
FFL and Infernoble help with getting Battle Shogun out and Morganite is beyond helpful given none of your SS from hand effects activate.

As a six samurai player, I’m glad we’re getting playable support.
The new cards are good but Six Sam didn’t need more extenders, they need a starter.
The deck still auto loses if you pop their normal summon.
Imagine if they gave the deck a poplar
Funny part is the extenders are also the starters. If one gets negated. Special summon the other and search some more. plus all the ways you can search six sam? They don't care about not having a designated starter.

@@jk844100 You're bringing up a dangerous game because there are too many variables to even consider but I'll humor you.
Firstly, a good majority of people are not gonna play pure six sam. Seeing as there aren't any real locks within the deck. Throw in a mikanko package or a infernoble package and those can be your starters right there.
Let's also assume I don't have Ascetiscism in hand which if you don't know can dodge a lot of handtraps.
There is fuma which once destroyed by card effect can special summon another six sam from deck.
Six sam doesn't need starters like I said.

Personally, six samurai playstyle aside, I like this kind of direction for new card
* Have in archetype use for both going first and second (quick spell), while not being overbearingly OP. This help reduce the sameness of all the generic board breaker and not as bad as main decking it and you go first
* Strong archetypal boss monster that has meaningful restriction. The new synchro effect looks great (search + handtrap protection/interruption) but its material is reasonably restrictive (warrior + six samurai) that you are meant to use him only in archetype. The effect is great but also isn't some ridiculous effect. Personally monster negate on boss monster for a SOPT is fair when it isn't generic
* Optional going second card that has a bit of application as combo starter/extender. The banish effect force enemy to respond, and if they stop you you can still tag into one of the banished monster and continue to play. You can also use it for xyz/link and let you extend
I disagree. I think this direction for the cards isn’t great and most OCG design decisions made in the past few years have been quite bad.
Having inherited effects for monsters is annoying to keep track of, especially so when the thing that gives the inherited effect can be freely moved around to wherever. At least with xyz materials that give effects they’re stuck to the guy.
Additionally, it’s an inherited floodgate. Not only just a floodgate, a floodgate that hits 2 out of 4 of the extra deck summoning mechanics immensely hard.
Gameplay resulting from the word “negate” tends to be less interesting, interactive, or complex than any other type of disruption. It’s lazy and it’s potent.
Lastly, you can’t remove this from the context of the deck that it’s in. Six samurai combos pretty much infinitely if they get off the ground, these new cards will only serve to get that infinite combo off the ground, insulate it, and make it stronger.

So a thing I have to ask is: when everything just needs to be negate instead of interesting and interactive effects, why are we not doing more barons? That baron was a once period negate meant that if he trades with a handtrap that negate is also off for the opponents turn. This would make it far less frustrating to face just negate

Six strike triple impact is a board breaker. It let's you choose between destroying all your opponents monsters, face up or face down spell and traps if you have 3 or more six samurai on the field
I really just wanna know which packs these cards will be available in. I ran a six samurai deck back when they were viable and I’m just getting back into competitive now so this is very good timing for me

Just looked up the Six Samurai Quick Play Spells and the Six Strike Traps. There are enough good Six Samurai Quick Play spells to get from deck. The Six Strike cards on the other hand........

Unfortunately, Morganite can still make Shogun + Gateway. You just have a lot of variety on if its possible depending on how you open.

Now instead of everyone having a negate ( baroone ) which is fair game, only certain decks will have one, and everyone will complain still cuz why does six sam and yubel only gwt negates ( those are just some examples)

i still play six sam for fun in 2024, end board= 4 mat appollousa + 4 mat asura king + shi-en + barone + natura beast not sure if the new support would even help make a stronger end board or what a stronger board would look like.. and i dont think these new cards will make six sam anything higher than bottom of tier 3 just above rogue because it dies to hand traps literally one well placed ash is the end of your turn...
Hope you have a 40 counter Temple of the Six at the end at least ;)
Assault is really good as a two of I feel, it can help get you started if you have a bricky hand or if you get interrupted by something low impact, it's very easy to search out thanks to trainer, it's a great extender because almost all six sams outside of gransmaster and the extra deck monsters are under 2k atk, and on the opponents turn it can BoM a monster and bring out Enishi who is a spell speed 2 bounce for a face up monster, it does double duty and imo is one of Six Sam's better cards, alongside Kizan and Gateway even.
All in all this support I feel is amazing for the deck. Sadly they don't fix the big issue six sams have, which is their fagility to handtraps and going second interruption, double assault, Anarchist and Trainer help a lot and Lord Shi En being insulation turn one is magnificent, but the deck still lacks a one card starter and I think it's by design due to the simple existance of Gateway. Gateway is so powerful as an engine I feel until it gets an errata or is just banned again we won't be getting anything that does address that.
However I'm still happy with these cards, I feel they have pushed Six Samurai forward enough to make them a viable archetype in the modern day, at best rouge with some funny anti meta matchups thanks to Anarchist Monk's level modulation effect. Being able to extend with stuff that isn't just Gateway is very nice for if you can't get Gateway out, since you can still, with some luck, land on interaction in the form of your Shi En's thanks to the new tuners and the Double Assault Card letting you access cards that would normally be just left gumming up your hand. The archetype still isn't even close to perfect and won't be until we can move past the cold fusion of Gateway and establish something new that can fill the power vaccuum that getting rid of Gateway would make, but I'm very happy to see new support that seems to be making earnest attempts to improve our game plan.

Like yeah it's all good but man...
The amount of misinformation in that sentence...
1- Yes, the 6sam gameplay until now aimed for some solitaire 20 minutes combos and was miserable, but one singular handtrap and that combo ended as isolde pass, so if you're going to cry about six sam then cry about plant link, Snake eyes and other heavy combo decks that actually can withstand a handtrap.
2- This support is brilliant as it actually makes us samurai players opt for a more midrange strategy, we're not spamming anymore with this support, the new shi en is too good of a combo protector, we're making this as the 3rd summon which takes aways most of the link-2 and gateway access.

Secondly I hate plant link and snake eyes, I also hate puppet locking. Just because I'm giving 6S a bit of flack doesn't mean I'm ok with the stuff reeking in meta right now. Yall have got to stop assuming this because it seems like every complaint about this support is met with "well you must like snake eyes or plants and aren't complaining about them"

No, you won't. Every combo negate player says this right before they incorporate whatever new cards into their solitaire flowchart.
Ok, then what is a reasonable way to make a deck like this playable without long solitare game play? Again not "BaN Gat3 WaY hurr durr" and that's it. If there's no good way without it being degenerate then the problem is the power level of the overall game then a archtype that honestly isn't even gonna be a meta destroying deck.

To answer on Josh saying this enables crazy combos as a chixiao on crack i'd say this actually single handedly transformed the deck from a stupid 15 minutes combo spam deck to a midrange deck because you actually want to lower the end board ceiling by making this first instead of searching gateway with the link 2, dare i say that in most of the combos i theorized gateway isn't used, so yea broken and degenerate on paper but actually healthy cards. (Sure you isolate your plays from one disruption but not 2 so it's not like this means something in the current format)

The reduce level floodgate can f@#k up spright and all XYZ deck accept Purrely due to how Purrely XYZ is unique beyond conventional XYZ summon. It f@#k all synchro base deck.
We had to deal with degenerate formats of tier 0 tear, snake eyes etc, in the last 3 ish years and I'm sure he loved the tier 0 decks......but he draws the line at shi en 😂😂😂
