    Nice review on the "belly band" type holster. I have one of those holsters and I wear it once in a while. I sometimes use a belly band holster in the winter to carry a back up firearm like a S&W J frame revolver. My go to holster is a CYA Supply (Marine Corps Veterans owned company from San Antonio, Texas). I have 2 of their inside the pants kydex holsters. I carry either a Sig P365 XL or a Walther PPS M2 in Appendix carry. These holsters are under $40. They have adjustable retention. They're well made and ship quickly. For this former Marine it doesn't get better than that. Keep up the great work my friend...:)

    I like the belly holsters that you use your own holster with. I don't like the type that you are carrying with the magnetic snaps because the trigger is not fully protected.

    I’ve been on a holster journey for a long time. I have a handful of holsters including an aliengear I tried and lost interest in. The one I found I like the most for me is the Trex Arms Raptor holster. It holds my Glock 26 very well. I also recently found a Fanny pack carry method that works with the holster if I’m on the farm or driving, otherwise I just appendix carry the Raptor for the most part. Might check it out

    New firearm owner, and busy doing homework on holsters... tried the Belly Band the other day and i was hooked. I really love the concealment abilities it carries, the confort level is way off the charts. Its almost "not there". I can easily carry the firearm all day.... as a new carrier it would be seriously uncomfortable, but this holster is really against it.... just dont think its a durable choice. Velcro, elastic eventually wear put over time.... and you will have to keep an eye on that

    I though you gave a pretty thorough review of the advantages, disadvantages, and how to better overcome the perceived negatives. I’ve carried concealed for over three decades. My primary goal was to keep the firearm concealed first and foremost like my life depended on it. I’ve tried belly bands, ankle rigs, pocket, undershirt, strong side and appendix, as well as OWB. The most comfortable holster for me is a Milt Sparks Summer Special II with matching belt. Used to carry a government sized .45 in that rig and it didn’t bother me. Carried the same .45 in a belly band under a tux at a wedding and was uncomfortable as all get out. I currently use JM Kydex versions that are also wearable, although I now fill them with smaller and lighter pistols.. In my experience, the more concealed one needs to carry, the less accessible it’s going to be. Practicing situational awareness is a must. Aside from strong side IWB, I also occasionally use a pocket holster. That method is sometimes easier on the lower back. My main criteria for a holster is that it wears and conceals well,is actually made for, fits, and retains the gun, and stays open after the gun is removed.

    Well done and love your presentation style. You should make this a series - CCW Wednesday. Especially relevant with the national explosion of legal civilian concealed carry laws and trends. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

    Very good video. I'm still on my holster journey too lol. I almost always CC my Ruger Max 9 in front pocket and my FAV Pocket holster after SEVERAL trials is the "A Holster" Pocket Holster > It stays in pocket every draw. Now for my Ruger Security 9 I'm still searching and after several IWB's and a few Belly Band holsters > I've ordered Rounded Holsters new Belly Band holster and anxious to get it in and try it out.

    After 2 surgeries I put on some weight, all in the belly.
    I had to start over and find a new holster. I’m 5’10” 235.
    I currently use the Muddy River soft leather IWB holster. For the most part I love it. But when driving, thanks to belly it can get uncomfortable.
    This looks interesting though. Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you for this content. I have been curious about bellybands/waistbands myself. however I would like to see some content of multiple waistband/bellyband carry options. preferably for carrying a full size pistol as I do. I am a relatively large guy around 6'2" 265lbs chunky/stocky build with a gut. lol

      I do brother from time to time. Unfortunately Adam tried to call me out for reviewing JXEJXO products saying they were stolen designs. Sadly he never actually never acknowledged me on all the positive comments I left on his videos. He only reached out when he was peeved. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I always thought he would be a supporter but he turned out to be a gatekeeper instead. I still respect his great skilll

    Very solid review.thank you for the information. Greatly appreciated. I'm curious what your opinion is after 30 days of wearing it? Does it roll over the top or bottom edge ? Is it stretched out now how durable? Did you put it in a washing machine?

    • @411Outdoors
      @411Outdoors  5 місяців тому

      Has been very durable👍 I probably need to wash it though. I haven’t had to wear it every day. It’s been so hot where I live so there’s been some inevitable sweating going on lol

    Remora sticky holster is made to order with a snap for a belt clip and/or the Ulticlip. Gym shorts, jeans, doesn’t matter. It is as secure as any other that doesn’t have loops or a retention strap…And that is most of them…I’ve carried for 25 years and have tried too many holsters. The Remora is the best for me. All day, everyday.

    So far, I have not found the best holster for myself. I have another popular belly band holster that is not right for me. I am in the process of returning it. I will be willing to try the Dinosaurized holster, as long as I can send it back if it does not work out for my big belly, no butt physique.

  • @brr8888
    @brr8888 7 місяців тому

    They make belly bands that use your existing Kydex holster, I think Blackhawk makes one and there’s the Phlster enigma

  • @ShawnShipstad
    @ShawnShipstad 5 місяців тому

    I worry about leather (The memory problem) especially with a pistol with no external safety)-Kydex can be uncomfortable (IWB). This is why I am researching belly bands. I am only 5-8" and 115 lbs. I print easy. Belly band might be good for Summer. I think OWB may be the way to go for Winter. I live in Minneapolis. Extra clothing is required.

    Great points. However that snap can easily become undone in a scuffle. Happens to police a lot. To me a belly band no more comfortable than a good kydex. Especially for heavy set men like me (I am currently working on fixing that). To me a Sticky holster is good around the house or pocket carry only. Personally i would like to see a belly band with a kydex insert.
