2 things: 1) VNSH has seen this and replied. Kudos to them! Check out their response at ua-cam.com/video/sOOq_m8FyeE/v-deo.html 2) I was wrong to recommend the velcro hooks go on the opposite side- that would cause it to catch on clothes
great review. you brought up a lot of valid points in the video concerning areas needed for improvement. i'm going to head over to the link above that you posted to hear their response. as for #2 above, with their statement that the velcro has to be on the side that they originally placed it, i think the best option is to create multiple lengths (ex, maybe a small-medium and a large-extra large belt so that the velcro doesn't get put in a position that touches your skin) or have an add-in piece (like you mentioned) that can cover the velcro in the event that someone is on the larger end like yourself.
This was such a great review. Honest, reasonable, rational. If the company had guys like you during development, they'd have an even better product. Some of these issues are literally the result of a 50-50 coin flip decision. Hooks on the outside belt and loops on the inside. Folding the snap webbing tail under instead of sewing the tail further along the strap. Only two options and they picked the worse one. Hopefully they see this and can make quite reasonable changes.
someone rightly pointed out they can't flip the velcro lest it hook on clothes.... and I understand an extender would have made it better... but the thumb break problem remains. I hope they fix it.
Anthony, wanted you to know that new viewers are still seeing your review for the very first time. It still just as important now as it was when you made it. Thanks for your excellent work. Very fair and balanced. As soon as you pulled the trigger on your M&P while it was still inside and the holster, I yelled “No!”. If there is even a 10% chance of that happening, it is too dangerous. Thanks for having the courage to be honest and truthful. You may have saved someone’s life or a criminal charge from a ND. You, sir, are a hero! Need more Anthonys in the world. Thanks much.

Huge help. Thank you for your time. I got an ad and it was an ad i actually watched, i went to the website and just about ordered it and decided i should find a review for it. Almost all videos about this holster are by the company itself. I found yours, and man am i glad i did. My waist isnt as big, so the velcro wouldnt have been an issue, the other non issue for me would be the trigger guard, i carry a compact 1911 so you can pull the trigger all day and it isnt going off until you drop the safety and engage the grip safety, but the fact that that strap is sewn the wrong way so it creates a barrier to my thumb is a deal breaker. Again, thank you. 🤘
I got one a month ago. I, too, saw the stitching was sub-par, especially at that price point. I got use to flipping the snap, but I see your point. I e-mailed them pics of stitching and they sent me another with no questions asked. Now I have two for the price of 79$. All in all, it's not my favorite, but I would wear one if I was in shorts or sweats, and for that reason I'm keeping mine. Great review, much-needed for this holster.
Thank you SO much for making this video. You just saved me a lot of money, hassle and disappointment. I very much appreciate it. This current model has WAY too many design flaws and serious safety issues. And at $130, the build quality issues are also unacceptable, to me anyway. Like you said, that's what you'd expect from "Walmart quality". However, $130 is NOT a Walmart price point. So, they should be doing better than they are for that kind of money. Anyway, thanks again. :) Hopefully someday they'll come out with something better.

Anthony, thank you so much for this review. I literally had my credit card out. I’m a 34 waist so the Velcro situation would not be an issue for me. The trigger guard? Maybe. But it looks like you really had to dig in there with your finger hard to pull the trigger. But the issue with the strap that holds the gun in place…total deal breaker. You’re right. In a panic situation, you’d never free your own gun from the holster. I’ll wait for the improved model, or find a better option in the meantime. Great review. Really appreciated.
Great review. I came here looking for an honest review on this holster before I purchased it. My main concern would be it falling out when I'm running or exercising. I absolutely agree that the little notch would be a huge issue when needing to present your firearm in an emergency. The search continues for a decent holster that I can wear while running.
Thank you for this review. I was just getting ready to purchase this item online. But now I'm aware of the safety hazard of being able to shoot while inside the holster. I'll wait for the updated version if they decide to fix these flaws.
Thanks for taking the time to do this review! I absolutely agree that the catch release is a critical design flaw and have no idea how that got through any basic testing. Glad to see the company seems to have noticed, so I'll wait to see if they do anything about it.
Well you just saved me a headache 😂 I was considering purchasing one now I’m back to searching great points in your review these points they really should have checked out.. before and after it’s called QC known as Quality Control have to check your product
You have some good points, however I purchased mine two weeks ago with no stitch issue. I used all four of my glocks from compact to full size with no trigger issue and no belly issue. I used the holster at the range and didnt have any issue with quick release of guard strap. Also went jogging and the batting cage for three rounds of 18 pitchs at 65 mph with no issue with holster. With that said as a retire cop I'm ordering one for my Marine son for his birthday who did a combat tour.
Thank you Sir ! Well done review. I saw the VNSH ad and from the ad I was sold on the product. Of course I started looking for review videos first - which are difficult to find. If VNSH fixes the two main issues - including one huge deal breaker - trigger cover still allowing a trigger pull - that is unacceptable - I will reconsider purchasing one. Not happy with the hold-in strap but I can look past that. Looks very comfortable for wear with beach clothes, etc. I am not truly happy with the magazine pouches being on the same side as my firing hand (I would have to reach across my body to grab the spare mag) but I can accept that. Stick a tourniquet in there instead. Thanks again for the review !!!!
Anthony, thank you for that review as it was very helpful and I see it has prompted the company to improve on their design. I do appreciate your input.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review. I was going to buy this holster but wanted a third party review. I appreciate how through you were and how you pointed out various problems.
I just saw your review It was an excellent review. I just purchased my very 1stv handgun. I ordered this holster 2 days ago, and it should be arriving any day now. I wish I had seen your review before I ordered it. I appreciate your insight l, because I've never had a holster and don't know what to look for in a holster. Thanks again.
Great review, thank you. I watched VNSH's response also. They seem like they are a good company. I'm going to purchase one and give it a shot. No pun intended! 😂👍
1. Belt extender 2. A lighter will fix the stray threads, very common on nylon and Velcro 3. Trigger - Safety issue with the draw for ANY holster! Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until ready to fire. I love my VNSH holster for its versatility and comfort. I’ve used them all, OWB, IWB, shoulder, and another brand of belly band and this one may not be perfect for every concealed carry situation but from my many years of experience, it is by far the best yet. I strongly disagree with the Walmart quality comment, mine is holding up quite well with months and months of every day wear. The manufacturers response gives credence to their commitment to customer satisfaction and feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to do a review. If they take what you said to heart, correct these issues, and I'd hope they'd send you a free demo to review for us again, I'd consider buying one that passes on these points you brought up.
Respect for this review and for VNSH reply. I'm a bigger guy too so the extension for the belt helped me out greatly with that issue. One of the other problems I had with the belt was the fact the extra pockets for your clips were on the gun side of the holster, clips should be carried on your support side. VNSH also fixed that by adding their duel mag pouch that can be placed anywhere on the belt so now on this one holster I carry my pistol, flashlight and a knife on my strong side and two clips on the support side. I wish other companies would listen to their customers with an open perception. This is how positive changes are made and it works out great for everyone.
Saw the commercial, came straight to YT for an independent search, yours was the first video to pop up. Watched, agreed, won’t be buying. Thanks for the info bud.
Thanks Anthony. I watched Adam's response to your review and was pleasantly surprised that he acknowledged your concerns. I believe that he will make the suggested improvements and then I'm buying.
Beautifully said! Hitting so many points to a comprehensive, in-practice problem creator like this product. This product would get you killed for many reasons in a self defense situation!
I just got this holster and the trigger guard and retention straps are my biggest issues. I wish I would've saw this video before I purchased. Thank you.
Thanks for the great review! Saved me some money, also saw where one guy posted that on a full size pistol the rront sight catches on the bottom of the holster..
Outstanding review, I'm glad I saw this. I was considering this holster the trigger guard was my biggest concern, and you hit points I didn't even consider thanks man.
Thank you. I came to watch reviews for this holster. So, there were plenty of them. Problem is, the first half dozen or so you come across were made by the same people that make the holster. They try to make it appear to be independent review. Shady Bidness. To me that says a whole lot. I had to scroll down quite a bit to find an honest review. I thank you for taking the time to do this. You saved me a lot of time. I never forget a face, and I owe ya one. If we ever meet up out in the world, I got your back.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad I watched this before spending 90.00 bucks 9n a fabric belt. This is also why I keep on wearing my Urban Carry Lock-Leather holster. I Carry a 1911 and it locks in and holds that just fine and that retention can be adjusted. I have tried a dozen different IWB'S and OWB holsters. This one is the best so far. After a week or so and the leather starts forming to your body, you start to forget your wearing it.
Thank you for your honest & reasonable review… I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take a chance on it or not. Now I will look around for other styles… you definitely helped me. Thanks Again
What a great review, Anthony. Really appreciate your honesty, fairness, and how thorough you were. I also watched Adam's reply as well, and it's very helpful to know that some of your concerns are being addressed. Thank you so much!
Wow, fantastic review! I was thinking about buying one when I headed over to UA-cam and found your video. I am so glad I watched it! I find it kind of crappy that they are still offering the same holster but are trying to boost sales by offering cash in each package up to $1,000! So they are quite literally paying people to buy their holsters that they know have issues with them! I will definitely not buy one right now. And I'm not sure I will even buy one when they do improve it since it seems they care more about selling subpar holsters than fixing it and getting good ones out to their customers.
Bro, you nailed it. VNSH has a great response to this. Kudos to both parties here. Respect to Anthony and VNSH! Example to all of how to deal with disagreements.
Thank you for the thoughtful review! I've loved the Raven holsters for about 20+ years, but I'm always keeping my eyes open for the next great holster. If VNSH makes a 2.0 version, correcting the issues, I think I'd be willing to try one.
Glad I came across your video. I was really interested in this holster but had apprehension on it. I believe I may keep looking. The trigger issue, and the retention are also killers for me.
Good calls, its now 10 months later. I just received a new VNSH holster and all his concerns have been corrected 1) the holster had no loose threads 2) the scratch hook has been reengineered to allow one size fits all including large bellies with no overhang of the scratchy part 3) the cover over the trigger guard is now an embedded plate that doesn't allow access to trigger 4) the extra nub on the magnetic clip has been moved to the opposite side
This is exactly what I was looking for. I also tried to find real reviews but had no luck. It's near impossible to get a good idea of how good a product is when companies post ficticious reviews.
Thanks for the honest review. there's not very many good things to say about this holster I was going to buy it but after watching this I realize it's a waste of money. Thank you.
Excellent review, thank you so much. Something else I would add is that a "thumb break" for rapid presentation would require the break be located on the other side of the firearm. I cannot understand why so many of these types of holsters are not designed with that done right.
I appreciate you review, I have held off buying one because the price vs the material just doesn't seem to match up to me. But it's nice to see it real review. Thank you Anthony.
Extremely grateful for your very very honest review.. I was going to buy my stepfather this holster because he's been wanting one since he's seen it.. he carries everyday, but I know how he is.. he's very meticulous. Not so much petty, but just meticulous on things like comfort and mobility.. I am no longer even thinking about purchasing this item anymore. And I was literally just moments away from purchasing one for him, and I decided let me go to UA-cam, let me look at some reviews from honest people who have BOUGHT the item and USED IT vrs just the standard commercial saying "HEY THIS THING FITS PERFECT , IT'S VERY COMFORTABLE AND IT CARRIES EVERYTHING".. I think a script that every company that's ever tried to sell anything goes by!! Thank you again for your very very honest review you saved me some money! Stay safe✌️
I was looking for a good holster for my Glock 26 and I saw his ads a few times. I always passed by when he brought up that cumbersome holster. Today I saw it again and decided to find a review and see how other people like it. So, in short…your review giving me no doubt. Thanks
Thank you sir for a most informative video. I recently bought a police turn in glock 22. I was considering the vanish holster for it . But am certain now that it is not what I need . The trigger guard was the clincher. 40 cal glock has no safety , only a double trigger. thanks for saving me some time.
Well done! Thanks, gives me a lot to chew on. I agree with everything you listed. Glad it has a 60 day return window. Probably going back. Will talk to experts at gun range in 2 days at my LTC class.
Great review, thank you. I still think I'm going to get one. If any of these problems still exist, I've already got some simple fixes in mind. Since it will be a daily carry, the fixes aren't inexpensive, but for the comfort I'm hoping for, it should be worth it.
Great review. I was looking for a holster like this, myself, and was blasted by the ad. It looked real tantalizing, but I figured I'd check out a review before I bought it. Appreciate the honesty, and your concerns are absolutely valid.
Thank you for the review. Honest and to the point. I may get one, and I will make sure they made modifications before I do. I see your point. Those were all valid issues. Being able to pull the trigger and the unsnapping issue are very valid.
Hey Anthony, I also bought the holster and found the same issues. I am also a big guy and I did get the extender piece and that made ALL the difference fitting comfortable. Practicing with it a little bit and I found reaching for the gun, using my trigger finger to pull the front strap pops the buttons apart pretty easy. I had a few strings on mine also, I used a lighter and singed each one down. But yes I agree with you on ALL POINTS, they could have done a better job. I was going to return mine also but I am willing to bet you they made you offers to keep it like they did me. I got the $20 extender piece free, and ended up with 2 discounts on my holster that ended up only costing me $20 for everything. They gave me some really good discounts due to wanting a refund on it. So, I still have it and I am learning it a lot now and to be honest, I love it now and the extender piece was the game changer for me from hate to love. P.S. I carry a full size 1911 in mine and as hard as you have to dig in to get the tigger while inside the holster, that didn't bother me.
@@andygosche1839 in rapid prototyping now. We hope to have something in 6-8 weeks. Hardest part is offering a rock-solid trigger guard in a fabric-based product. But we'll get it!
@@vnshholsters Please let me know when the new version is available. Frankly, I had my CC info alrready entered but then looked harder for an independent review and found this one. FYI, The biggest issue for me was the tab on the retention strap.......
Man I was about to click order now just as I was clicking on this review... thank you so much! Saved me so much time and frustration. Appreciate it brother! Also, Texas all the way!
Thanks for taking the time to review this holster , It looks like you are going help make this a better product in the future . I hope the company sends you a free one when they are done making the improvements because you helped them as well as the rest of us with making the right choice . Good job !
Great observation on the hold down snap. Maybe with practice you (we) can avoid the "false" tab and go straight to the snap. Other than that, I like mine and it will probably be my primary carry.
I just purchased mine and had it for about a week now at predominantly carry while wearing a suit, and I do have to carry all day as I'm standing all day and this is one of the most comfortable holster I've ever owned, I have a 38 inch waist and I found that my trousers generally keep the velcro and the belt itself snug and hard to move around my waist so I don't have to worry about it sliding into a different position I normally carry at the four or five. And that's the only downside I have found is that the magazine pouches are right next to the weapon and I would much rather have one on my 11:00 or 10:00 as I am right-handed. Outside of that this is probably one of the best holsters I have ever owned and I am getting rid of my others
I agree, the retention strap should have that fold on the inside of the strap. And they should have the hook velcro on the opposite side of the belt. Good review
That was a very good review. I just got mine in today... and oddly, their videos led me to you! From what I see, they did make changes... like on the magnetic clip - it looks like there is a much tighter stitch to minimize the protrusion of the first bump. If you go to pop it open, your thumb skips right over the first bump to unsnap the strap. It also looks like there is an overall attention to the stitching without all those threads hanging out. This is my 3rd velcro type holster. I'm keeping it and will probably never use the others. The VNSH is way more comfortable than the others. I never thought to attempt to dry fire in the holster. I'm glad you brought that to my attention. I was not able to dry fire a glock. I will remember that test for future holsters I may get.
Great video. Your points have resulted in me not purchasing the holster. The exact points you make are the kind of things that would bother me. This saved me from buying one and then having to return it or letting it just sit in a pile with the other failed, unused items.
Thank you for your review. I was on the fence with buying this product. Definitely will wait for your review on the version 2.0 if they make one. This product could be amazing just lacks the finish.

Great review, thank you. I watched VNSH's response also. They seem like they are a good company. I'm going to purchase one and give it a shot. No pun intended! 😂👍
EXCELLENT REVIEW, AND THANKS FOR THE UPDATE!!!
1. Belt extender
2. A lighter will fix the stray threads, very common on nylon and Velcro
This review provides valuable insights. Thank you for your candid feedback. It has greatly assisted me in selecting the right holster.
You saved me from spending more money on yet another. To add to the drawer. Thanks I really appreciate the video.
Thank you for doing this review. I keep seeing the ads and almost purchased one. You are a hero man.
Thx Anthony for your much valuable review👍
Saw the commercial, came straight to YT for an independent search, yours was the first video to pop up. Watched, agreed, won’t be buying. Thanks for the info bud.
Great, honest, straightforward review. Thank you.
Thank you for this review and saving me the trouble of having to return this holster.
I was super close to buying one but then I saw this video. level 2 security design is a breaker for me too. Thanks for the review
Thank U for that! I was going to purchase one for my son. Thanks to U i will not be wasting my $ on it. Great review man!
Thanks for the video. Thanks for posting their response. I decided after your video and their response I will be purchasing.
Thanks for doing this review. After watching Adam's reply video I'm probably going to try one once the changes are made.
Glad I came across your video. I was really interested in this holster but had apprehension on it. I believe I may keep looking. The trigger issue, and the retention are also killers for me.
Thank you. I was set on ordering, I am happy to see your review. I may buy someday if those issues gets corrected. Not until then.
Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with the company & the broader 2A world!
Good calls, its now 10 months later. I just received a new VNSH holster and all his concerns have been corrected
1) the holster had no loose threads
2) the scratch hook has been reengineered to allow one size fits all including large bellies with no overhang of the scratchy part
3) the cover over the trigger guard is now an embedded plate that doesn't allow access to trigger
4) the extra nub on the magnetic clip has been moved to the opposite side
This is exactly what I was looking for. I also tried to find real reviews but had no luck. It's near impossible to get a good idea of how good a product is when companies post ficticious reviews.
Thank you for your review, when it comes to mail order all we have to go on is the reviews of people that actually have one in hand
Thank you for the honest review! It would be great to see more holster reviews form you
Thanks for making this video. I was concerned about the hole trigger protection just because another similar holster with the same problem.
I appreciate you review, I have held off buying one because the price vs the material just doesn't seem to match up to me. But it's nice to see it real review. Thank you Anthony.
Wow, thank you!.. big guy myself with an H&K VP9 Match. Was minutes away from buying this.
Stay safe✌️
This review is better than 90% of these big gun tubers. None of this false bravado im an 'operator' crap, just ordinary mans honest detailed review
Thanks for the honest review, I was about ready to order and the add disappeared on me so I decided to look on you tube for reviews. Thanks Again
Thanks for the review Anthony. I considered buying one for a friend for Christmas. I’ll keep looking.
Great review. Thank you for posting this since there aren't many independent videos on the VNSH holster.
Thanks. Very good review. Fair and honest . VSNH should take note.
Great review, thank you. I still think I'm going to get one. If any of these problems still exist, I've already got some simple fixes in mind. Since it will be a daily carry, the fixes aren't inexpensive, but for the comfort I'm hoping for, it should be worth it.
Good review. Thanks , I've been looking at the VNSH. Like you, I'll wait for the improved version.
Great review. I was looking for a holster like this, myself, and was blasted by the ad. It looked real tantalizing, but I figured I'd check out a review before I bought it. Appreciate the honesty, and your concerns are absolutely valid.
Thanks for the review Anthony. This did help me. I was on the fence about this holster for my M&P Shield plus, but I think I'll look elsewhere.
Thank you for the review. Honest and to the point. I may get one, and I will make sure they made modifications before I do. I see your point. Those were all valid issues. Being able to pull the trigger and the unsnapping issue are very valid.
Thanks for pointing that out. Hopefully, they'll give us customers the ability to trade ours in for a better modified version.
Thank you for your honest review. Wish there were more honest reviews on YT. Cheers!
Thank you sir - I was just about to pull the trigger on this holster. You just saved me $80!!!!
We hear happy to hear the extender worked for you and we're working to fix all these issues and tighten up quality control
@@vnshholsters any idea when the revised version will be sold?
VNSH saw my review and responded. I give them respect for their reply. ref: ua-cam.com/video/sOOq_m8FyeE/v-deo.html
Oh also it works for my semi-auto and My revolver perfectly.
I agree, the retention strap should have that fold on the inside of the strap. And they should have the hook velcro on the opposite side of the belt. Good review
Dang! I'm so glad I saw this video.... I'm looking for a waist holster for my SHIELD, this is off my list now.
Thanks for the review. I would cut off the retention strap. The concern that keeps me from buying is the fact that you can fire the gun holstered.
Great review. You saved me the time of ordering and returning it. I agree with your comments.
Thanks for reviewing this. I was always curious about these. Honest reviews like this are what we yhe people really need.
One of the best reviews I've ever seen for a product. Thank you!!!!
