Phantom was great in Murfreesboro at MTSU last night !!I recorded it from three rows up on the 50 above the wall through aisle. The percussion projected really well last night. It was a beautiful night for drum corps : 78° degrees 57 percent humidity and very comfortable. The corps defeated Crown for the first time since Murfreesboro 2016 I believe. I had the Drumline t-shirt for Phantom back in 91 and it was a marching snare drum 🥁 and the Tasmanian Devil was trying to break out of it! My favorite souvenir t-shirt minus SCV 89 and BD 86!
I still have and wear the drumline member shirt from 1991. I was a percussion staff member and a drum doctor for Marty Hurley from 1990-1992. I continued in 1993 which was my last year on staff with the corps. We brought back TAZ as the percussion mascot in 1990. He was the snare line mascot starting in the 1970's. Matt Penland writes battery beats for our High School. Super fortunate to have him. Glad to hear he’s getting a good rep from ya’ll. Would love to see another episode with him on in the future 🤘🏼
Sheeesh. We said the run for the Sanford is gonna be fun this year right?! 🥵 Good Lord! This definitely sounds like a fun book! There's just something for quality tuning on a Pearl snare. *Chef's kiss!*
Regiment bassline this summer is perhaps the cleanest bassline of the season (is it just me, or is it more acceptable for bass dirt for the past several seasons now?), and definitely the best since 2010. Makes me a proud alum!

I had this on in the background and was really confused when I heard the bass trombone and euph soloists
Sounds like Rennick battery tuning

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the white drums!
I’ve got 89s shirt in a trade. A drum workshop hoodie for a new world shirt. I wore it under my uniform for every performance. In storage now.
Taz is still around today ;)

The percussion ensemble piece they used for source material for the last feature is a certified banger. Pillar III by Andy Akiho
I love the new Rennick mallets the marimbas are using.
