you should see the family guy psp game, it makes this one look like heaven. Any progress you make before dying (if you had not reached a checkpoint before dying) would be lost, few hits and you die, and the stealth missions, SMH it is hell.
As a child, I remember the intro used to scare me a lot. It goes from total silence, to a short musical tone for the Ocean logo, to total silence again, to shockingly loud lightning strikes, to finally, the title screen music.
I had this game for the game boy. Had no Manuel so I had no idea what to do. Kept dying, the music scarier me, and I was so confused about where to go. But I kept playing it. Ah childhood
I've play this when i found a copy of it at a local Game Crazy next by Hollywood Video back then in circa 2004 and it was really hard and made me want to watch the movie again for the film's 30th anniversary!
The *ONLY* Ocean published title that was actually _good._ It's open-ended and encourages you to explore every nook and cranny as you might stumble upon one of many secret doors filled to the brim with goodies. The soundtrack is great and fits the IP's melancholic vibe. Unfortunately, the controls are quite slippery and with Gomez being in the dead center of the screen, you're going to die... a lot. Also... I think this port might have been rushed? It's missing music and SFX from the SNES version (Heck, there's 3 sections; "Weaponry," "Lower Gallery" and "Armory," with no music at all) in addition to two tracks that were sampled directly from the SNES version indicating that they didn't have enough time to arrange them for the Genesis, it doesn't have that menu on SNES which allowed you to go directly to the main hub to eliminate backtracking and there's no credits screen with the developers' faces in the background. TL;DR Good port, but missing a ton of content from the SNES version.
This got really obnoxious with all the pointless backtracking. I have no idea why the player kept doing so, because it did nothing but stretch out the runtime.
for example in the freezer stage, he would go back intentionally to hit the penguins or the poison ivy part I was amazed how he started with 37 lives (I played the game and didnt know about all those different 1 ups).
It's not a problem in the Super Nintendo version because there's a menu you can access by (I believe🤔) the Select button which allows you to go directly to the main hub.
didnt know there is an extra heart atop the old tree beat the bird that extra heart shall def come in handy i went through 'wednesdays' section with only 2 hearts was pulling my hair out but seeing you have 5 hearts here no wonder why lol this game is so tuff but i like this game a lot. controls can be a bit slippy but meh init.
The US version is not that good, the music remains the same throughout the whole game only two themes and keeps on repeat. Otherwise, the colors are different from version to another.
This sounds way better. What are YOU smoking? Because you seem to be having some difficulties in comprehension. He never said anything about the sound chip in either machine.
Imagine how amazing this game would be if you didn't die every 5 seconds
🤣
Poor controls, gameplay unfair...

You gotta get those extra hitpoints.

I could see why that would be a little unsettling.
@@zitherq5761 Nice to know.
@@MyMelodyOfTheHeart you seen ecco tides of time from the Sega cart? That intro used to creep me. The stuff we think as kids lol
@@zitherq5761 I've never seen that as a kid, but playing that game as an adult, I can totally see myself as a child getting scared of that intro, too.
Sigh....the nostalgia is strong with this game...how I miss my days as a kid so much.... ...😞😭😭😭😭😖🤧💔
Me too😭
Yesss the best
Now I know why this game reminded me of Mr. Nutz. Ocean was involved with the best platformers. Love their style and it's never been quite duplicated.
I still feel like i havent discovered every door and path in this game
Good old Ocean games. The LJN of the SNES.
Level design is kinda nuts
we played this game, for hours and didnt beat it xD
There are games that are no longer games, and become part of each one's childhood, and should be declared a work of art!!!

Im looking at this and still trying to figure out what to do or what the point is

I know you wrote this 2 years ago but thanks for the heartwarming memory

TL;DR Good port, but missing a ton of content from the SNES version.
But it contains at least one sound effect that the SNES version doesn't have: The Judge's "GUILTY!"
Childhood hits hard
Просто потрясающе. Нет слов! ОТлично сыграно!
this game is awesome

I wonder what they would do with The Munsters.
Ikr?!?! That was my other fav show tied with Addams Family

Love this version
Same....this game was my childhood
@@faygojuggalo011 Ah Same here
Same me too
It's inferior to the SNES version. A lot of content is missing.
@@Dorian_Scott Definitely yes
I had the NES version.
And it looks terrible.
The NES version is horrible.
Epic..

Eu version has more music?
Stop jumping on adorable tiny penguins you monster!
Colors in this Version are Gloomy? Try SNES Version!
Sounds like Yamaha PSR-2

Game created by sotb who hated the players!!!
A versão do super Nintendo e melhor nos gráficos e trilha sonora
Music does NOT sound better here. Do not know what you are smoking. The SNES's sound chip is far superior and always has been.
This sounds way better. What are YOU smoking? Because you seem to be having some difficulties in comprehension. He never said anything about the sound chip in either machine.
Genesis version sounds good, but the SNES version is indeed better.
