I have noticed for the double damage on sledger, the enemies doesn't need to be frozen, simply "chilled"
Basically on the effect of being slowed or with the snow particules

That makes it a lot better. Still kinda sucks with it costing 30k, atleast a minor decrease to like 25k or preferably 22.5k is much more reasonable. From what i assume it also affects bosses as i did notice that my Sledger actually dealt a surprising amount of damage to Molten boss when i did freezing only challenge. Imo it would probably make sense to complete the list and give ALL melee towers stun immunity(including Slasher nobody will use anyway lulz). Imo Sledger would definitely be a lot more viable in my eyes if he actually had atleast some boss damage potential to justify 30k for a freezing tower and a melee mortar.
I wish they didn't nerf sledger.
You forgot to note that frost blaster is ONLY tower that ignores chill mechanics and freezes enemies instant, which makes it freeze with every shoot instead of cooling down enemies first
Before anyone says “he forgot jester,” jester CANNOT FREEZE. His ice bombs can only slow enemies down, not freeze them. Good video btw ❤

Its a dps tower with a passive ability now and personally it's still usable, If you want a nerfed to the floor tower use the Commando if you have it

I say the rework is abysmal to sledger, one of main reasons I used him besides the reliable crowd freeze, was the fact that it made any frozen enemy take 2x damage from any source, and now because it freezes less and takes longer to freeze, it’s not really useful anymore, and the price prevents you from placing a lot of high dps towers
sledger is now a dps tower with a passive slow. its not exactly worse, but its usage has changed significantly.
To be fair, sledger has really good stalling if you place the placement limit. You just gotta coordinate them to strike one after another

Im surprised no one else said this at all. Sledger isn’t viable by itself anymore. Instead, you should always put them in groups of two or three. This is expensive, but it practically eliminates all of sledgers problems. It renews it’s stalling potential by getting rid of the two hit to freeze requirement (though its still not as insane as it used to be), as well as making it a fantastic late game tower with insane total group DPS, much better than it used to be. While it helps, you dont need other ice towers to make sledger work, just… other sledgers. When you get the sledger group set up, it works pretty darn efficiently. With commander, its almost always getting double dmg too. Ive seen a sledger on wastelands using this method rack up more dmg than max accel. I still agree with this list though, due to sledger’s horrendous midgame potential.
Finally, someone who actually places more sledgers than relying on one. And uses the level 3 than directly maxing it.

I think that sleeger is the best in multiplayer matches, since you can place 6 sledgers and the rest of the team get dps and support towers

The only thing is bad for the frost blaster that If every frost blaster is in range of the spawn they will shoot at the same time and the enemies will freezer less
It's better if you place all the frost blasters far enough so each frost blaster will shoot at a different time than the others to slow more the enemies (except for bosses)

In defense of the Sledger, you are only considerating placing one sledger, it can get a lot of adventage of it's 2x damage ability with multiple sledgers (so no need to have another freezing tower).
As well... the sledger stalling get's very good with multiple sledgers cramped up... making spawn killing very easy.
Another thing is that I just saw teh comment of @sebsurname1197 , talking about the 2x freeze working in chilled zombies, not only for frozen ones (not confirmed tho)
And last... Sledger with commander gets super broken (I understand if you are talking about the tower without supports, but it's a note i wanted to make)
Just something i wanted to talk about because the sledger is way better at stalling than the way you seem to describe him

Cyromancer is a support for a reason, it’s extremely good if you bring freezer or Sledger. Because it has max chills so the freezing towers insta freeze if cyro is hitting the zombies

if you're talking about dps then yes, cryo is trash by dps, however, what makes cryo so good is its god stalling ability. like, i could go to a mcdonalds rn, wait for my order, eat the food, come back, sleep, play in vr and then when i come back to tds circuits has moved just an inch.

@@AnimanDude-hk8kt im now convinced how good it is when spam, my scouts barely move a muscle unless there is hiddens during mid to end game molten match, sledger has a massive 10 range with dj buff and the damage buff whenever enemies chilled is op. unfortunately its upgrades price is heavily buffed to compensate for a decent damage buff, and having to speedrun every game i play that i rarely used those debuff towers and underestimated them. sledger satisfied as a freezing tower

That is because sledger did the work of freezing towers back in the day, where frost Blaster and freezer were completely garbage. If only old frost Blaster and freezer had their stats now, sledger would be outclassed. Top it all off with cryomancer, old sledger would be the most useless stalling tower.
@@AnimanDude-hk8kt nah old sledger was able to stall the tanks in fallen mode for a very long time and sledger was even able to stop really fast enemies like glitches, errors or circuits. I think you clearly haven't used sledger in the right way lol

I feel sledger needs a stalling buff, he should stall for 3 secs of frost and give him an a ability to smash the ground creating icicles that freeze and slowly dmg enemies

Cyro is good but the thing is it kills your spawner units which is annoying.
Cyro gunner slowing down some units like the tank is actually quite usefull because it gives it more time to shoot
pretty sure every freezing towers affect units since i.ve seen sledger stopping tanks in pzp
it can actually double damage on non frozen targets, they have to be slowed by him however

I agree with this list. Although sometimes other freezing towers can be better than frost blaster. For example in game modes with more high health enemy’s like pizza party sledger and cyromancer are a bit better in these game modes.

Old sledger was so good that it basically was able to singlehandedly perma stall basically every non-boss enemy. If it didnt have a HUD healthbar at the top of the screen and boss music, its being stalled for the max duration (unless it has freeze immunity)
Only jester could rival it and thats only because it affects bosses, if it doesn't apply confusion to bosses anymore old sledger would've still been better. Its ridiculous how good it was for the cost, it basically could carry your mid game with just that and a level 4 accel until like wave 37 just because nothing could get past the sledger if set on strong since EVERY tank would be stunned for years and the accel would clean up the hordes that passed sledger. It was disgusting, hell I used sledger for a LONG time because of how busted it was. Now its a damage oriented tower designed to be the swarm handler that glad no longer is (only 3 pierce, seriously? Thats pathetic man)
Fun Fact about sledger:is a good freezing tower back then because of now chill mechanic and when max limit and max upgrade sledger is can stop the enemy in their track and is also can sometimes freeze hidden because of multipe-hit
@Corso just saying sledger works together so if a enemy is chilled then if u have multiple sledgers the enemies will be frozen better and it’s a really good staller

Freezer is an incredibly good hc tower as it can make some of the most dangerous waves trivial (25 and for some hc strats 32)

Ok but if you're gonna rank cryomancer at 2nd because it has a good combo when paired with multiple cryomancers then here's something i would like to say
Sledgers if put in a line can be very good at stalling. One can freeze/chill a enemy then the other can hit it for the extra damage then it can also freeze again since 2 sledgers are hitting at the same time, instant freeze. Rinse and repeat until the enemy reaches the end of the sledger line
I haven't played TDS for a while now and what the hell have they done to sledger the stalling of it before was so good

Its not a surprise Frost Blaster is in first place, not only his stalling capabilities are good but his damage can come in handy when dealing with crowds, like late game breakers, which can be really problematic
Fun fact about Cryo: he can damage lead zombie in hardcore from Lvl 0 and slow them.

frost blaster can be seen very good and same with sledger but due to its freeze not allowing it to do 2X damage and no hidden detection it is not the greatest at freezing for surely. Good point you made there Corso, I didnt even know it would rarely do 2X damage without freeze support towers.

Sledger needs to rework again. Considering how the event was hard and rng based and the frost spirit had 1m health, sledger should keep its freeze every hit
I think it's already great it aldready has 2x damage on frozen can hit 4 times add the damage buff and with commander it can spawn kill alot of enemies plus you can place 6 of them i think it's balance aldready they don't need to fix him
The event was easy as hell lol 650k people beat it comparing it to an event that was actually hard Halloween 2020 was up for nearly the same time as frost invasion and only 165k people beat it and is the current toxic gunner miles above the old sledger? No, so in that regard sledger is fine how it is and if anything should be nerfed if we’re only making the stats based on how hard the event was
the balancing would be something along the lines of
Executioner>Gladiator>Slasher> jester > Frost blaster> toxic gunner> Swarmer > Sledger> Cryomancer > Commando so stop complaining

I personally disagree with some of this 1: although the freezer has the least DPS i think the cryo should be last due to its early lvls having no dps just like the old freezer. 2: the best lvl for frost blaster is lvl 3 because the firerate is 0.75 and the freeze last 0.75 so the enemys have super small amount of time to go due to the projectile speed they have less than 0.25 seconds to move so lvl3 would've been the best example

Even with old sledger, I wouldn't use him much.
I wish there were more burn tower. We have 4 freezing and really only have 1 burning tower being the pyro since its pointless to get the jester on burning. Id like to see a burning tower that shoots a like piercing projectile similar to frost blast that wont effect as much enemies but will do massive amounts of burn damage.
Honestly burn effects are just slower damage over time effects. If they made it spreadable between crowds then Pyro would be so much more useful in its role. Since the burn effect is kinda really weak right now and very plain in comparison to the other statuses and effects

Honestly, I’m sad that sledges is way worse now. But I totally agree that frost blaster is the best freezing tower. It’s the only one that just freezes without any prerequisites.

Cryomancer is best freezing tower this thing helped me carry a noob who mainly just used scout military base and farm to molten boss 58 ho which is because i disconnected when the molten boss came out (yes i did also have commander and dj but still)

Simply put every freezing tower has its use the freezer is the only freezing tower that isn’t from an event so it’s the only choice for most players then sledger can freeze but will do good damage cryo can stall enemys for pretty long and frost blaster is good for crowds this is just my opinion tho

I prefer cryomancer for staling just because it has more synergy with the other freeze towers it cant freeze enemies at a lower level but due to the chill effect just placing a freeze tower like the freezer it could freeze enemies a lower level
Only advantage cryomancer has over frost blaster is the fact that you can place infinite, meaning that its insane for solo and much better than frost blaster or so we think. A normal loadout has farm/cowboy, a support tower or 2, a dps tower of 2 (you can have either 2 support towers or 2 dps towers) and then your last tower is an early to mid game tower. The thing that makes frost blaster better in every scenario is the fact that its used for early and mid game, it can be used as an insane crowd control that stalls, and it has sub dps because it has a decent dps. You can use cryomancer if you want to, but statistically, frost blaster is better unless your strat REALLY involves around it.

I found a bug with cyromancer making 2nd place more fair. When the cyromancer attacks, it can slow and freeze units with no ice or chill effect visually. At later levels, the cyromancer can damage units as well. I'm not sure how that happens, but we have tds freindly fire.
It’s a known bug and jesters poison bomb deals damage to friendly units as well

I feel like frost blaster is for the one who wants to instant freeze like the old games. I personally like the new freezing system and I feel like instant freezing is a bit boring. So I recommend not buying it if you want to see something new and fun rather than grinding or something like that. 😂
