“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 “For God so loved the World that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 That’s how much He loves us that He sacrificed His own Son so that we wouldn’t have to suffer the penalty of death.

Girl, you had to ask the question! In high school I had a “feathered” shag with a RAT TAIL! Yes indeed, a little brown braid I never cut. And I cut my hair myself. I grew it out, I permed, I ratted up them 80s bangs, I lacquered back those Linda Evans sides, I abused it hard. When I got to college people called me Breck Girl after the shiny haired brunettes on the Breck bottle! Youthful hair is so forgiving. Fast forward to my 50s and my scraggly ponytail is the size of my finger. Enjoy it while it lasts, ladies!

after a few years i decided to experiment and i can say i've had every single color possible - blue, green, orange, blonde, black, purple, everything.
i never got scared of the outcome because i knew i could always buzzcut it - and i did, a couple of times.
honestly, once you go buzzcut there's nothing that can scare you anymore! :))

Yes, girl! I used to have hair to the top of my behind in HS and I was tired of it so I got an angled bob. A few years later I got a buzz cut and I dyed it bright pink. I LOVED IT!!! I kept it that way for basically all my 20s in different colors. I began growing it out at 30, but it was because I was really sick, like deathly ill, and I was in and out of the hospital for the next 5 years. Of those 5 years, I spent 3 years and 9 months in the hospital. So my hair grew down to the bottom of my bra strap and I decided to just let it grow. I have fine, 3b/3c hair that grows fast. Right now it's about tailbone length again. And I'm thinking about gradually cutting it until I get a short curly fro.

You are absolutely right when speaking on the importance of keeping the integrity of the hair. My natural curl pattern is 3b/3c. My hair is not dense when straight. I have lots of body (I roller set) and can achieve silky results. When curly it looks super full and my curls are healthy. I'm often asked, "How do you keep your curls when you wear your hair straight the majority of the time?" And my reply speaks directly to the integrity of my hair...I flat iron every two weeks, using no more than 380F ..I also deep condition in between every wash and every other 4 weeks I use the Aphrogee 2-step protein treatment. I trim every 3-4 months and I don't wear a lot of protective styles. Clip ins have been my go to lately. Nonetheless, I say ALL of that to say....You speaking facts! And as you say, HEAT IS NOT THE ENEMY LOL!

    • @michelleeja412
      @michelleeja412 2 роки тому +3

I probably flatiron my hair 1x year. I have fine yet very dense hair. I actually use 365 temperature with one pass. The only purpose is to trim my hair properly. Ceramic is best for fine hair because the temperature is more stable.

To be honest, I've been obsessed with RED HAIR for years. I have been coloring it all different shades of red. When I first color it, I absolutely love it (even though it bleeds a lot). But, within a short amount of time, the color fades badly and it annoys me. Lol. I am ready to part ways with RED, now. Ready to get a pixie and then color my hair a choc. brown or caramel color for a change.
Also, PS - anyone thinking of going red, it's pretty hard to wear all sorts of makeup because the colors CLASH. So, if you want wild colors for makeup, go to a more neutral hair color. You won't end up looking like Bozo the Clown. 🤣

The closest we got was when we came back to school in the fall, if we were lucky we'd got to spend a lot of time in the summer sun and got streaky-bleached. We did go to town on hairspray. There was one that showed up white under black light. Makeup was a different story, tho. Ya gotta learn this stuff somehow!!

I’ve been having my hair cut and grow out since 3rd grade and I think that helped me adapt to change easier especially with hair. I can easily go from hair under my boobs to pixie cut but I know a lot of people who freak out just cutting an inch off. I’m definitely grateful for all my hair cuts growing up because now i can easily change things up without hesitation. I think growing up and starting young definitely helped.

That smile at the end on your client is probably the very reason hairdressers do what they do. We all want to look and feel our very best and this job seems so rewarding. Much love to those with the skills to put that smile on a person's face when they turn that chair around and they get that first look of their new do. Love it!

So relaxing to watch you work your magic! Also, your high school picture is great! I never played around with cut or dyed my hair at all till my 20s. High school was just all of the crazy long hair in braids and ponytails, and no eyebrow plucking for me...🤣

    You’ve always had bomb eyebrows!
Okay, so in my senior year, I thought I was gonna be a blonde bombshell, after watching Christina Milian in the “Dip it Low” video. So I bought blonde box dye, went home and dyed my hair the brightest blonde within a four week period. Yes, my hair fell out. Yes, I had to cut it all off. And yes, I went back and dyed it black. I had a grown lady hair cut in my senior photos! 🤣🤣 I’ll never dye my hair blonde on my own again, lessons were learned.

I love watching your videos. I love your chat and how you explain everything. Your transformations are amazing. Your constant reminders to "show love to your hair" motivated me to make changes in my hair care routine. I'm part Sicilian and I've got coarse grey hair that I have colored since I was in my 20's (59 now). Recently, you've got me thinking about switching to rinses rather than hair color, and wrapping my hair at night when I sleep. I learn something new every time I watch. Keep it up, and thanks for taking care of all of us!

In high school I had so much fun! I was relaxed and had the longest hair. I did a custom burgundy ombré halfway down my hair. The following week, 3 girls came to school with a red box dye copying me 🙄. But my custom color faded to light brown so I dyed the ombré a honey blonde. Didn’t take care of the color and it all broke off so I went natural back in 06. Been natural ever since and when I want color I use weave.

she looks great! i love the color and i always love the look of bobs. i would never get a bob, or bangs for that matter; too much maintenance! looking pretty for an occasion is nice but i like to be comfortable and functional, and for me that means the hair stays out of the face and is tied back so its not annoying or inconvenient in any way. i also hate styling any more than i have to, so it works out for me in the end

Yes Hunny. 99J is still my jam when I feel like braiding myself up. I also go from the red to Beyonce Blonde from Spring to Autumn, if I'm braiding. Now I have three daughters who have had ALLL the styles from a wavy Caesar to a natural down their backs.. Mohawks, undercuts, half shaved, bobs & bangs, locs..... The styles. Allowing and encouraging them to experiment with their hair helped them to learn how to really take care of their hair and scalp.

👋Hey Kee... Gurl 99J was my jam in high school too. I used to go to the hair store for it and did my eyebrows too with a burgundy lip pencil. They used to call it cherry cola (99J) back in the day🍒 I used the Jazz hair color that came in a pink bottle. I just knew I was da ish. 💯
I did blue also my fav color at the time as a sew in. My Dad look at me like... Umm ok that's you doin now. My mom later told me... he asked her if I was I going thru something or if I'm okay. LoL, "parents just don't understand." I was just expressing myself and experimenting cause for so long girls would say, "I was too dark for color." That was a lie. I've proved them wrong, and learned I validate me!
Doing hair myself... just like skin color, its more about picking the right undertone that's complementary to You.❤👑✌

the people commenting about the pillowcase situation are just making conversation and showing empathy for things she could be going through, whether thats due to observation or their own personal experiences. there didnt seem to be any poor intent in their words or its meaning. its actually a very decent type of comment compared to the plenty of nasty comments people commonly would rather leave. its not about being her maid or judging her, its likely about showing concern for her and her personal belongings and hoping the best for her intentions
