Suggestion, not sure if this helps; You should update your title with a series name so people know it's apart of something you are making like "PolyFjord Randomizer | Creating a Magical Caramel Creature" or something similar, but great work regardless this is great!
You are my favorite Blender tutorial creator of the entire community, the way you come up with unique techniques and explain things so magnificently, I can't get enough of it. Please never stop. 1-80-2.
the art teacher: The creature's glowing arm bands represent the oppression even when amongst the free beings around them polyfjord: wouldn't it look cooler if this one had glowing rings lmao
You're the only blender tutor who I can look at the length of your videos and get more excited the longer they are. Super rare...for me at least. Great tut btw!
36:52 I feel like it would be interesting to get rid of the stripes on the tunnel, and do 6 of them with 6 creatures. Those stripes go all the way to the light, to the infinite, and they can be caramel coloured and lightened, like energy popping out of it. Then the creatures follow the path of the stripes like a train. When they connect to their respective path they lighten up, like they are charging their magical powers.
The final render is genuinely, sincerely beautiful in the truest sense of the word. I love it. Thank you for sharing the whole process with us, warts and all; it really helps to see people we look up to as being human too.
Hey mate u should definitely make more kinda videos like this... i loved the diamond robot video and i hope you keep on making this kinda amazing and entertaining stuff like this!
"If anyone out there thinks you aren't good enough, you are." I'm not sure if that was the best or the worst thing to hear tonight, but the project I was going to give up on is getting at least another day of effort now. It's definitely an "I want too much" situation, given that I ran with the April Fools joke of a gacha-RPG based on the users and tropes of a forum I follow as if it was a serious project. Also, I have to say that I love the premise of a magical caramel creature, but I am absolutely reading that as some kind of enchanted candy golem.
I really love the creature design. It reminds me of the Null Guardians from Ben 10 in a way. Watching all of them float around gives me an ethereal sort of feeling. It's super strange, yet calming.
Unlike other UA-camr the thing i love about you is that you feel more human , more relatable, the way you get stuck and try and find ways to get to the point it's really important .... I get creativity block all the time and first time i felt good about it ... You are really good with the craft and good to see how real you are ... Thanks man , got lot to learn from you
Keep up the series! I love watching the actual work style of professional creators, it shows how y'all create beautiful results, no matter what you have to work with, and you always get over any speed bumps along the way. Nice work!
Okay, I just want you to know that I appreciate you so much. I actually turned notifications on for UA-cam JUST so I could ring your bell and follow you and this series. Thanks for being so great 😄
Wow all of a sudden when you mentioned that overwhelming feeling of doubt and anxiety when creating... That really hit me. So many times I've booted up blender only to be shut down by that exact feeling. I really really appreciate leaving that 5 minutes of struggle in the video.
This guy's criminally underrated, idk why UA-cam stopped giving him reach after that Spiderman video, this really sucks that people couldn't discover this hidden gem, and yeah, maybe you could teach us how to make that word sequencer thing
Lol he’s not criminally underrated he literally has the most viewed blender tutorial by an insane landslide and is one of the most subscribed blender teachers
half a million subs and consistently getting near or over 100k views on normal videos and 1M+ on tutorials isn't really underrated haha, I think he's got the second highest subscribers after BlenderGuru (the donut guy)
This stuff is beyond blender , this is thinking artistically and alongside learn so many vanilla tricks ! thank you for all the work you put in! cheers
This is now my favorite series on youtube, please keep it up, this is amazing! It inspires me so much to actually try to do something creative out of nowhere! Thank you for sharing your art on youtube!
It feels like a group of air or water creatures that you would wish to pet and interact with but you actually wouldn't want to touch because it might burn your hand. As for the theme, I think that putting them in a tunnel doesn't work as since it looks like they are being held in one place. You can see it in the close up; it sort of feels like it wants to move out, but has to circle around the edge of the wall to keep swimming. I like the idea that only one has the lights; it reminds me of colonies that have a different pattern for the king or queen of that colony.
I love that you did another one of these videos with random topics, I would love to see a type of series or playlist like this. It would be fun to also see other UA-camrs with 3D or 2D artistic ability with this kind of skill and knowledge.
Once I tried this idea by asking my sister to chose some of the topics on my own google sheet and here is how it turned out,drive.google.com/file/d/1YXgENxfs77Z5tmzC21iZ_5IpvRZY8kJ8/view?usp=drivesdk
I think it would be a cool idea to have a giant one in the background that's really blurred while the camera focuses on the small glowing one in the centre. Or maybe they are in a very hot/underground region.
Blender is a free and open-source 3D application from Blender Foundation. It has great tools for modelling, rigging, rendering, animation, simulation, motion tracking and some game and video creation options. You can also use it for low poly and UV maps. I really enjoyed working with Polyfjord to create this video.
I think it may have been interesting to have one of the creatures pass very close to the camera, completely obstructing it, then do the cut to the original creature. Just a personal opinion, but I think what you’ve created is amazing!
Thank you for being so inspiring and motivational, and for not editing that part out when you got stuck, and capturing that struggle we all feel when we stop believing in ourselves. You help the community even more that way, not just amazing tutorials and everything else you do and are really good at it. I'm writing this just because I believe that you deserve more credit for that. That inspiration helped me a lot in my blender career. Thank you again for everything.
As a composer, turning these types of projects into competitions for sound designers and composers in your discord would be so much fun! Amazing video as always!
Loved watching your workflow, even if I'm very new to Blender. It's fun to see what the program is capable of. The creature turned out great, I love it!
The only thing I would recommend changing is the color of the hexagons, grey-black kind of takes away the utopian feeling maybe a little bit of blue or maybe bunch of colors with color ramp.
I think flat speed would make the little nudge of the main character stick out more, and if the zoom focused on the foreground characters before focusing on the main as they pass him I think it would be super cool!!
This is an amazing video! I love seeing his work flow and the process he goes through to make this. His thought process is just so relatable. Thank you for not cutting out the mistakes. It makes me feel better and inspires me to keep going and try new things. ☺️
Just want to say that I popped in on this video again just to click your channel name to see if there might be a new video out. That's how much I like your content :)
Watching your process is super interesting and I love that you keep the lows and despair in that everyone gets, yet try to hide ☺️ Perhaps a way to make the environment feel more utopian would be to soften the hard edges of the tube, and perhaps even make them semi-translucent and light the world. Maybe a blue sky HDRI? The darkness and hard edges appear, to me at least, dystopian rather than utopian...but then again, thats entirely subjective! Thank you for making and sharing this with us 🙏💜
I've been looking forward to this. Your combination of enthusiatic tutor, technical expertise and artistic flair make for completely compellng content. Great stuff!
I think the darkness of the foreground almost made it feel dystopian. all the other fish was swimming in the light and our protaganist was languishing in darkness ^^
this looks like a horror movie atmosphere. With the sound, dark lighting and these weird flying things which look like they're going to pierce through your body if they see you. These things are everywhere. Wtf. I like the scene, but it scares me a little.
Not sure if it's the caramel color or slick movement, but the creatures remind me of the PlayStation game Journey. Great video, I enjoyed watching this!
Very interesting way of choosing concept and great execution, again today's render end up really well I like this, thanks for your effort, excited to see more ...good luck.
Please do more of these. I really really enjoy these. The one with the hot pink robot was cool and so is this one. However I feel like it sorta jumped a few details. That said you are the ONLY blender animator I watch.
This wa soooo cool, for a talented man like you create whatever you want this way its easy, I could do that with ehhh food, like put some fruit on top of a pancake with some mint marshmallows and grape syrup haha
you made my day..."if i just keeping banging my head against this wall..."...man, you are an inspiration, a great artist and my favorite tutorial maker on yt....just keep on doing what you love!!!
This is so satisfying! I want to see a much longer animation of this. Not sure if it nails the "utopian" aspect, though. "Utopia" is used for describing societies, so I would expect to see more social behavior and also the environment is rather closed, limiting the freedom of the denizens, and I would say that freedom is a big part of a utopia. Maybe there could be openings in the walls where creatures enter and exit? Anyway, I am amazed by how fast you work with Blender. It looks like the tool has become an extension of yourself.
Suggestion, not sure if this helps; You should update your title with a series name so people know it's apart of something you are making like "PolyFjord Randomizer | Creating a Magical Caramel Creature" or something similar, but great work regardless this is great!
Yeah i agree this is a good idea
Hey!! Thanks for the suggestion :) Perhaps it could make it more clear that it’s not a tutorial? I’ll try it!!
@@Polyfjord You say it's not a tutorial but it kind of is anyway.
dude. so cool
Thanks man!!! 🙏🏻
You are my favorite Blender tutorial creator of the entire community, the way you come up with unique techniques and explain things so magnificently, I can't get enough of it.
Please never stop.
1-80-2.
what does 1-80-2 mean
@@dwnsdp probably their signature.
The answer is -81
the art teacher: The creature's glowing arm bands represent the oppression even when amongst the free beings around them
polyfjord: wouldn't it look cooler if this one had glowing rings lmao

Love this series!!

Thank you for this amazing comment!! It really means a lot
Thanks for keeping in the struggle cuts. Watching an artist I respect work through feeling "stuck" was way more valuable than seeing a tutorial.
i really appreciate that 1/3rd of the video is just you trying your best to come up with something other than nothing.
For your support I don't skip ads again thank you for teaching us 🙏🙏🙏
Hey mate u should definitely make more kinda videos like this... i loved the diamond robot video and i hope you keep on making this kinda amazing and entertaining stuff like this!
Abstract +
Creature +
Caramel +
Utopian -
Magical -
Love the way you play with ideas though!
I absolutely love that you make personalized intros in blender!
I looove these challenges! We can even pause the video and try to do something on our side!
This series is so inspiring!!! 😍

I love your videos, even though they are not really tutorials. You have a refreshingly conceptual approach to your projects, like an architect.
The pure discovery process of these videos is one of the things that make them stand apart. This was a blast to watch :)
can't tell you how much I love these videos! Keep up the good work!

I really really like This series

I really needed to hear that at 12:34. I'm going through some rough times mentally, and this really hit me in a good place.
I think it would be a cool idea to have a giant one in the background that's really blurred while the camera focuses on the small glowing one in the centre. Or maybe they are in a very hot/underground region.

Love how you demonstrate the entire process, even the bad stuff. You've turned into the Bob Ross of Blender for me.
You absolutely loved rolling those dice and picking those styles. Great channel! Brought me a smile
Ian Hubert, CgMatter and this guy. Watching their tutorials ins't just informative, but extremely fun

That hexagon pattern was unique 👌
I loved the sound design.
Super funny listen to you at the finding process. :-)
Really really nice. Norway is the obvious way forwards. I'm gonna live there...

that list is actually ingenious fr

I love these videos!!
I have not enjoyed a tutorial as much as this in quite a while. Really well done. Subscribed.
Damn, the intro and table visuals - next thing we know youre going to roll virtual dice
More!! More!! More!!
This is my new favorite Blender series!
And your instincts were correct, it's A utopia, not AN utopia :-)
This is so much value. Thanks a lot
i love videos like that from you. You are one of my fafurite UA-camrs
best wishes! You have been selected for the Pixar Animation Studio! Good work bro!
your workflow is so looking nice
You are good dude you are good! pls do more of these. It's the best way to learn !!!
Not sure if it's the caramel color or slick movement, but the creatures remind me of the PlayStation game Journey. Great video, I enjoyed watching this!
This was incredibly interesting to watch
These videos are always very satisfying to watch 😩😩😩
Wow. The end result is beautiful but honestly, i want to see a tutorial on how to create this opening titles. It's really great
Sir. You are amazing. I love this series.
So relatable that's how I exactly feel when I do something from scratch
Okay, this was interesting to watch. Even tho I don’t use blender I enjoyed it a lot. And an interesting method to make an assignment for your self. 👌
Very interesting way of choosing concept and great execution, again today's render end up really well I like this, thanks for your effort, excited to see more ...good luck.
i genuinely want to make the start of that as my desktop wallpaper
Contents just keep getting better and better!!!
Love this seires. Possibly the best I dea I have seen on UA-cam for Blender users!
