I was having issues with slow recovery. After two months, I didn't see much improvement, so I decided to take a logical approach. After a week of intense research, I ended up taking a vitamin b complex, lions mane, cordyceps, l-carnitine, and NAC(as an anti-inflammatory). I began eating a low carbohydrate diet( for anti-inflammatory benefit), completely stopped drinking alcohol, cut back on caffeine, and replaced my sleep aid with melatonin. I stopped taking benadryl completely as there are studies that indicate it can negatively impact nerve function. I started making sure my blood pressure was under control and that I was getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night. I also did the exercises that I learned on this channel and others. I began seeing rapid recovery within 1 week of implementing my new routine. First, my face began twitching like crazy then I noticed it was easier to drink from a cup, then my smile started showing teeth on the Paralyzed side. It has now been just over two weeks since my new routine started, and I am almost at 100%. I can't be sure if it was just a coincidence or if my new routine healed me but it may be worth a try for other people.

Thank you for such great advice! And, I wondered if twitching was good or bad. Seems to be a good thing in your case. I was doing a lot of these things, but was taking Benadryl for allergies. I shall stop that for sure. I'll be looking up the supplements you listed--some I don't know. Thanks again.

Well people need to know that bells palsy is a pretty tricky thing and im glade I can help someone to understand what I went to and which there was people out their that can explain to me what to do since this was my first time getting it. Bells palsy is given steroid and antibiotics med to help weaken the inflammation and swollen of the muscle. So when people recover quickly it could be their young enough that the body recover quickly compare to someone that is in their 40 or 60 sometime in their 30.. so you can get a mini bells palsy or a severe one. I had the severe one that took me two years to recover, from the dizziness to the blood pressure, to losing my sector communications to the brain.smh since three years I got a second dose of bells palsy and this time it on the opposite side, but this one is as bad when I first got my first one, but I'm praying this will be my last bells palsy and I will keep you updated if you need to see how I'm doing

I didn’t do face exercise as i read a lot of articles that its not good for early stage. It will cause synkinesis. Also avoid nervous episodes and breakdowns, stress in general.

Hi Omolola! I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy in September of 2019 equally! I haven’t made a full recovery and like you, I still speak from one side of the mouth and got a smile that pulls more to the right (side which has strength)
Lately however, I have began feeling muscle spasms on the affected side with the sense of strength being gained.
But has come at a cost of me feeling some weakness on the unaffected side.
COULD YOU BE EXPERIENCING THIS and to anybody out there, is this a normal feeling of recovery or should I be worried of a recurrence of another episode of Bell’s Palsy?
