That didn't felt like a 16 minutes long video...I know Lisa gets lot of compliments but her presentation skills to keep us engaged is so good...Thanks for making quarantine survivable...Keep up the good work...Love this channel
The exercise you recommended about playing the major and relative minor scales at the same time is awesome! That just opened up a whole new level of enjoyment when practicing for me. Your channel and lessons have really been a great supplement to the music courses I'm taking in school right now. Thanks!
Merci for this. I talked to my daughter and she is very busy but hopefully in the next two weeks she will be able to film me for my self treatment for the pianist. Great tips about the bench. You talked about stability, the first treatment/exercise I gave to my patients is a stabilization exercise for the low back, and it fits in perfectly with this video. You can do an isometric exercise (contraction without movement) in this position. With the feet fairly close together, push one foot down into the floor for five seconds as you're breathing out. It's as if you wanted to stand up from the sitting position, but there is no movment. Then place the same foot against the other foot and push against it as if you wanted to push it away, again breathing out as you push to not build up abdominal pressure. This is the start of my treatment for the low back to strengthen the gluteal and abdominal muscles. I tell my patients to do this once a day. They laugh when I say that, but it's better to do one than zero. I do it first thing in the morning, but you can do it as you start your piano learning, and maybe at the end. It isn't an exercise where you need to do it ten times in a row. But doing it once often is better. More to come.
I will be sending you my video soon, but there might be a cure for your little finger problem. I use simple muscle testing and orthopedic and neurologic techniques to help when there are weaknesses. Stay tuned (LOL).
I love this piano teacher..she is so talented, and a pleasure to listen to. A soft voice, great video, who needs a boring old fashioned piano lesson with this girl around? I'm staying here. She is the best.
Love you Lisa on the way you approach each lessons with calmness and sweetness. It keeps me motivate to practice each day with ease and confidence. Thank you so much! Looking forward for more video lessons.
I love your classes. They are very inspiring and it does motivate me to keep learning. Thank you for these amazing videos. I am forever grateful to you.
Thank you Lisa. This is the first course I have found that I can actually follow along with without getting frustrated by the presentation. Great job with the videos. I love how you teach.
I am an absolute beginner and started a few days ago. This video is so great. I further mixed in random keys on the right hand with those seperated fifth on the left. And felt like a badass composer to myself already. lol Thanks!!
Finally I did the staccato in the left hand while playing legato in the right!!! It was a train wreck for so many times for me before this lesson. What a wonderful feeling to have accomplished this. Yippee!!!!!!!
I ❤️ these suggestions on how to creatively play scales! I get so BORED doing the same thing over & over! I’ve watched every video you’ve done on this subject! Thank you Lisa!
This tutorial is what I call a "Keeper." Because I have watched it multiple times, and find my knowledge level growing in leaps and bounds with every review. Lisa, thanks for making what could be viewed as boring, into an enjoyable learning experience. Your UTube channel is the perfect complement to my online Pianote classes because here I can easily select what I'm interested in learning more about at any given time. Also, a special thank you for the tip on how to view the "Pinky Finger" flying up. Because when I started working on the "Hanon Exercises." That was one of the focal points of that class. And I have been arguing with my Left Pinky and Right Pinky and Second finger ever since. This lesson has taken the stress out of that argument. I will continue to work on it, but after hearing you speak to this issue. I can stop being angry with the digits. Coach... You are a Rock Star in the Piano teaching industry. Many thanks for all that you do to help us learn.
Hey, Ms. Lisa! You're such a big help. It's really fun to learn from you, and your teaching style makes me feel motivated. Thank you and keep it up! 💙🙌
Thank you Lisa for another awesome lesson! I love the pulsing fifths. Will definitely try this and include in my practice. Thank you again for sharing your talent! ❤️
This is exactly what I needed! I know all scales but I’ve definitely fallen into a bad habit of playing them on autopilot as a quick warm up and that’s it. I’m now looking forward to practising them!
Thank you for your videos. I heard that you've been playing for over 20 years and I have been playing for over 3 years and I every time I practice it's a challenge for me,but I enjoy everything you play.thanks and and have a bless day.
... just learning to play keyboard. Love your utube postings... I'm happy to repeat scales in their original 'boring' format ... but your ideas for varying them take my attitude to happy+ ... broadening the enjoyment horizon so much more... your talent for teaching makes it easy to follow, your reminders that (as easy as you make it appear) even the basic piano/hand coordination can be challenging for beginners strengthens perseverence ... Thank you
LISA, thank you so much for your mini piano lessons on YT. They're short lessons but I learn a bunch from them. And, they're fun, enjoyable, challenging at times, engaging, motivating & all those good stuff. You make the lessons fun & easy 'coz you're a cool & fun teacher as I can sense & tell. KEEP IT UP and ..... KEEP IT COMING! Byeee .....
0:10:56 hi Lisa. This portion is where I hit a wall. And it's not because I cannot perform the exercise. I am challenged in doing it with the precise dynamics. Like many other pupils practicing at home I am working with a portable arranger keyboard rather than a digital piano. And as you might well know those are touch sensitive rather than weighted. So I can go from fortissimo to pianissimo easily - but not so readily in the other direction. So that part of the exercise from that aspect is challenging. But the rest of the video I had a pretty good time with. I still think there's a chance that I can get pianissimo down it's just going to be a little bit more difficult with the kind of keyboard that I'm working with. Thank you so much for this tutorial
Guyz...You're the best in the world... Seriously l'm learning piano on a fsb keyboard...First,l thought that musical instrument had to learned only by grades and masters...But u changed my whole situation... I'm not kidding I have only done Trinity-Keyboard Initial , But I'm able to play Mozart's Turkish March... Everything is only because of u...Thank u...You have helped not only me but Lakhs of your subscribers....I owe u everything 😁❤️❤️
