I can't stress enough how learning to play the piano has helped my mental health. After my husband passed away last year I hit an all time low, now I feel I have a purpose in life and aiming to play for Church, it's like God is pushing me on. I practice every day sometimes twice a day and it's wonderful. Thankyou Lisa and to all the team xxx👏👏👏👏❤❤
Warm up, scale practice, song AND improv in 10 minutes?? I didn’t think it possible but you did it! I learned so much! The instructor’s personality is as cheerful as her voice is soulful 🥰 what a gem of a video
You are so refreshing to watch. So much energy without being overbearing. I always come to watch your videos when I'm feeling like a total failure at the piano and discouraged to the point of asking, "Why do I bother." You're sure to cheer me up and remember to enjoy the piano, no matter what "level" you're at. Thank you so much.
You are an amazing teacher! I am 61 years old and have played for years but only took about 4 years of piano lessons when I was a teenager. I read the notes well but never really learned anything about chords. I am so excited to learn chording and how to make songs sound fuller. You are a joy to watch!
Right now I need only ta sey........Young Lady.......while I am tryin ta keep up with you when I can sit at the piano . .You are Wonderful and an incredible player with AH LOVELY YET EQUALLY ELOQUENT VOICE and You are so Kind. THANK You fer sharin Uer Incredible talent with every one. I'm ah woman in My " 50's" and far years back I had ah loss of memory problem .......You are CERTAINLY helpin Me by Me watchin Yer piano skills thet I really love and enjoy. THANK You Dear Lady. I found a long forgotten keyboard in my house the other day and have been watching your videos to help me learn. I already play guitar so my left and right hand dexterity and co-ord is not too bad but your teaching style is soooo good, i'm coming along loads already, I learnt 'Never Love again' from A Star is Born yesterday and I was so pleased with myself! Thank you :D
I just started to play again after being away from it for 30 years. It feels good that I can still play a bit. Thank you for this routine because you just gave me ideas and blew my mind open to the possibilities. :) I tend to play randomly because sometimes songs and sounds get in my head, and often the only way to relax is to play those notes! :) Greatly appreciated.
You teach like no other!! I love your emphasis on playing the piano as a creative outlet and way of forgetting your problems and worries. This is exactly the kind of attitude one needs when they approach a practice session. Thank you for sharing!!
This is amazing. Was really struggling to find a routine, some days I'd try to practise in the morning before work, and sometimes after, but I just lose the motivation.. This deifintely will help me get back to routine! Thank you so much! 😊😊
@@armaan1560 Sure, until it gets to the point where you are taking that pharmaceutical speed just to get a baseline level of normality/motivation that you had before you even started taking it lol.
I am a guitar player since a child. Now I decided to try piano. And boom, these lessons totally sinchonize with my chord-wired brain. Actually, in a way piano is easier. There are more easy-to-handle chords. You are an amazing teacher. Brilliant pedagogical skills. Thank you.
I genuinely think your amazing, I was practicing the same thing everyday, sat there practice for 5 minutes. Your videos have challenged me to the point where im actually excited to practice my piano. Thx
You are such an inspiration to me. I have watched several of your youtubes, but haven't commented till now. You have opened me up to the concept that maybe I can be creative on the piano. I tend to feel I'm not talented and have to just play what I'm shown - period. But you've shown me that it isn't so scary to be creative. Thanks and keep up the good work.
These videos are such an inspiration, thank you ! I recently made up an exercise that if halfway through your parts 1 and 2. To practice my scales and the associated chords, I choose one random note, then play in a row arpeggios for every chord, going up and down. For example, in C major : C E G D F A E G B F A C ... till C E G again. And the same, but descending. It really gets tough in scales with 3-5 sharps or flats. But still satisfying and the melody created is kinda pleasing. That's ascending chords played with ascending arpeggios, but if it gets too easy you can switch to ascending chords with descending arpeggios, e.g. G E C A F D B G E... till G E C. Much more challenging once you are in A major or E major. An easier version of this is just playing the chords without arpeggiating (is that an actual word ?).
I am enjoying this , I’m not very good and a little slow and also not very good at remembering (put that down to my age). I find your enthusiasm fantastic, love the way you draw us in. So a big thank you.xx
Thank youuuu i just made a comeback to piano while has literally zero experience in improvision and you have no idea how hopeful your video makes me feel rn! 😫😘
4:38 beatiful this is what I am looking for to build a good technique, I am learning piano "as self taught" from beginner... I have alfreds Adult all-in-one Book 1, and just looking for the best piano method or maybe I need to play more piano and dont worry about the method. I am always saying get a teacher so he or she can guide you or I play whatever I want and practice, youtube channels have so much info, and Pianote channel is the best from all. P.S. the wisper is: "practice songs are less boring"
I have started learning it now. Lot of videos on it on YT. But I'm comfortable with your training videos. These are amazing for beginners to help them learn and best practice lessons. 💖
Good-morning Ms Lisa, you give us that special gif ...piano lessons in all smiles. I am following ....What I need is the song with the chords. Getting there slowly. Thank you. Blessings.❤
I am 20 years old and started to learn keyboard alone at home in quarantine ... some people said it was a waste of time because it is the kind of thing you should learn as a child, but of course that's bs and this videos are are guiding and giving me a lot of confidence, which i probably wouldn’t have ... so Thank you! 💙
Yes! Such a great video! It is not possible to overvalue the importance of smart practicing and efficiency in piano playing! We musicians should share all our knowledge about that as much as possible!..
This method is so refreshing. I've had Hanon for years along with a bunch of other stuff. I did some of that. I did some scales and I learned a few pieces by ear. But I never had a pattern in which to turn practice from a seemingly pointless activity to something of any relevance. Thank you.
I liked it almost immediately, then I started watching and was thinking, this is so good, that I accidentally liked again not realizing I already loved it. This is such a wonderful guide for me learning piano thank you so much!!
I'm loving these videos. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and have been wanting to learn piano for the longest time and learning through your videos makes it feel like I'm cheating or playing a video game. I'm amazing myself at how quickly I'm picking it up. Keep up the good work!
Wow! This is so coincidental. Just this morning, I added Hanon No.1 exercise to complement my Scale practice. I practice all Scales beginning with C and then working my way up to the C an octave higher, playing the minor Scales as well. I've also started adding what I would call a Swing Rhythm to my Arpeggio practice, playing the Arpeggios in as many varied ways as I can imagine. I love the simple improv exercise you illustrated here, something I will add to my routine as well. Thanks for this one!
I absolutely love point number 4. I will try it. Been feeling very uninspired and can't even get myself to practice. I like the idea of relaxing and playing around, sounds way more fun.
These lessons are fantastic! Thank you for posting. I'm seriously considering the whole lessons thing but I have to consider the pandemic stuff too. I really want to learn to sight read piano sheet music.
Can you also teach us how to sing as beautifully as you do as we are accompanying ourselves : ) As a beginner I am really enjoying your videos and your creativity. Your enthusiasm for the piano is infectious!
I feel fortunate to have found your channel, once the internal hard realization began to click that relearning Piano and music theory is more important than titles/achievements in video games~ Your advice and disposition are soothing and practical :>

How to turn a collection of notes into a training plan. THANK YOU! Wow. Thank you. Getting teary eyed here. A follow up request. Would you make a recommended order of scales to train in and, perhaps also, a song suggestion for each? It was lovely to have an example here in F Maj when so many other tutorials show C Maj only.
