I am 81 years old, and am an absolute beginner. I am enjoing your lessons. Of course learning to play the piano is very challenging, and without a physical teacher, it is even more challenging. But I am determined to master it. Thank you for your lessons.
27 here. You've got it! I'm switching from guitar and just bought a Nord Stage 3 as an investment. Trying to get the most use out of it so I'm working on fundamentals.
I love, love, love this tutorial! First of all, when I started piano I wanted everything to be perfect and I couldn't stand that I made mistakes. I would get frustrated and give up. I would say I can't do this! You showed us as a professional you can make mistakes. You made one and just laughed at yourself. That's a great attitude to show beginners! Mistakes are a part of the journey in learning the piano. Just have a laugh and keep on going! I love it!
Wow! You really made me feel like I was right in front of you in a real class. My left hand hurts but I know it’s a good day thing because it’s building muscle. I am going to watch this video over and over and play the Exercises until my left hand gets stronger. Thank you so much!!!
I’m 60 years old and I’ve been using your lessons to help me learn to play the piano. Your lessons are simple and easy to understand and you make playing the piano a lot of fun. Thank you! We are a musical family and I play a few instruments, but never the piano. So thank you for helping me take up the challenge! Best wishes, Kev.
ML You are fantastic ! I am a 68 years old woman from CH and I do your boot camp every day, because I want to play again !….. and I stoped the piano when I was 17 !!!! Merci, merci, merci
You crack me up when you said dont forget to smile! i've been playing keyboard for several months now, but never could include my left hand with my right. I will follow until I learn from you because you are a very good teacher. Thank you for your time, cause Im really thankful for devoting your time like this old lady over here. Thank you!
Wow!!! I’ve done this exercise once and I can feel a huge difference already!! After doing these exercises I went on to play something else I practice and my left hand was soooo much more precise and faster. As usual your exercises are very helpful..... thank you thank you 😊
I really injoy your lessons, I'm 69 years old and I play guitar with a bunch of older guys once a month and I'm using my keyboard on some of the songs we do (blues and RnR) and it's fitting in nicely, much appreciated.
Yes Man: I got blisters on my fingers and wrists, hehe.... This is good exercise for people who are right handed and to strengthen left hand on piano. Please make more of these. thank you.
i have no idea why anyone gives her videos a thumbs down, what is wrong with those people? i am following along and loving every minute of those exercises
as a begginer my thought about learning piano was *AS LONG I CAN PLAY FEW SONG I DON'T NEED TO LEARN THIS * i didn't do any of this kind of exercise cause im really onto playing songs so i have trouble myself playing cause i can't really play anything...... i waste my 6months and i just realize now..... how stupid i was....... cause i think as long i can play its all right and gosh..... now that i realized it im gonna start all over again so i began to search about this things and i can say your the only one keep me interested to learn this cause your so fun to watch and its not boring to listen to you hehehe
I am Intermediate keyboard player. I used my Left Hand only to play Octave to accompany with Right Hand. I always felt something missing while play melody notes or during Interlude. Now I realised by watched this clip that how important it is to use Left hand as of Right hand both to accompany and for filling. Good exercise for Left Hand with Staccato and Legato style ! It helped me a lot. Thank you for your this wonderful clips. Best Wishes !
This is really wonderful. I'm 41 and I am learning now from your lessons. Bought a Yamaha recently, and not getting the opportunity to join a school because of COvid-19. Your lessons are really helpful. Especially this one for the left hand. As I had learnt the harmonium as a child, playing with the right hand is ok for me. but for the left ur lessons have really helped.
I'm 61 yrs old now but i studied piano when i was 10 yrs old. I stoped my piano lessons after a year coz was so frustrated bcoz my fingers are so short that until now i cant reach the octave. Im so thankful you teach me how to manage that even i cant reach the octave. Thank you so much that i awaken my passion again. Thank you for your tutorial. You helped me a lot. God Bless❤️
Took piano for 12 years as a kid. I haven't played in 30 years but old piano teacher says it will come back to me. This is amazing to help.me learn again ! Than you!!!
Wow!! That's wonderful❤.. You're the only teacher on youtube that really understand beginners. Most of all others teachers don't realize that what they're teaching is more advanced for a beginner. And as we self teaching, we need this kind of lessons or tricks to start off with... thanks a lot..love ya❤
Brilliant session... as a typist, for past 40 years(learnt on a manual typewriter wayyy back wen), piano now keeps my fingers flexed... Love your ideas for varying the exercises. Thank you
@@lueezec358 :)) ... typing on a manual was almost as musical as playing keyboard... (Shows how good my playing is lol) but both are fun n keep the mind active. Good luck with your music making! :)
I'm not sure how long this video has been but it's the end of August 2022 and I'm just now starting the series. I'm learning quite a bit from you so far and I just wanted to let you know that I'm 62 years old and have found it hard to learn new things lately, but I'm finding it pretty easy to learn from you. Thank you! I hope that I'm playing White Christmas to my grandkids and other family members by Christmas time. 😀
I'm a left handed person and when I was a teenager I was practicing Czerny and Hanon exercises.I never noticed any differences in either hand then. Now that I am decades older I recently started practicing those same exercises and am noticing a slight difference in the velocity of the right hand .My left hand is definitely stronger and faster !!
This was so helpful! I’m not a beginner and I could feel my left hand needed some improvement. This is the second time I came back to this video and I’m sure I’ll be back! ❤️
You're awesome! After my first week of playing, I was for fun playing some melody in way to develop my left hand. Combine my creativity with your boots camp, it is so great, I see improvement already... That is awesome 👌
This is great I've played 30 years and subbed because your lessons tips and exercises are super helpful 😊 will be using this daily to get my left hand less lazy 🤣
I've been practicing scales with my left hand, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm missing at least one finger. How many fingers do most people have on their left hand? Six, seven?
You pivet. For the C, D, E, G and A-scale you go 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1. - And if you continue upwards you hit the second key (9th or 2nd interval) with 4, and just continue the same pattern. If you want to continue the scale downwards on your way -back, switch out 5 for 1. You only use your pinky when starting, ending or go back. It's the same pattern as for your right hand, only mirrored. 5 =pinky - 4=ring - 3=middle - 2=index - 1=thumb I don't remember the fingerings for the other scales. I've played for less than two weeks, so I haven't gotten that far yet. But the world wide web holds the answers.
This is perfect, exactly what I needed, appreciate the co-practice too, thoroughly engageing and highly benificial.. and here comes further progress, thank you..
Thanks didi for the wonderful session. It was first in my life that I practised with left hand so much for a piano...😊...Thanks Shreepad, Pune City, India
So just after a couple days of practice I'm almost able to keep up with you 😊 A noticeable difference. Will continue this practice daily. So I'm thinking, "how do I carry this over 2 octaves?" Any hints from you would be well taken!
Woot ! 😃🙏🕊 . For me it was overwhelming when I first tried this workout .. but once the feeling passed I enjoyed the physical nature .. now I’ll just get better and faster
your awesome.... my left hand is weak and i needed to get coordinated with my left hand..i noticed my pinky and ring finger when hitting the black keys Flats or Sharps as we call it...they dont always hit those keys or it feels like they are rubber fall a part lol..but this exercise really helps out to muscle memorize where those keys are..im learning piano on my own and this is great...Your a great teacher..thanx for posting it..

Hi Lisa :-) I read a lot of positive comments here and I do not doubt that many people have had great help thanks to your excellent videos and valuable exercises. However, if I observe your 5th (pinky) and the 1st (thumb) finger, I see that they are not really relaxed during the play. That means, they are not really completely independent from of the playing fingers. It would be nice if you also consider the weighting of the fingers in your explanations. It is indispensable that at anytime you get the absolute control during the hit and release of the fingers. Personally, I found very helpful the exercises with spreaded fingers and the simultaneous play of e. g. 5th and 2nd with e. g. 4th and 1st finger, or 5th and 3rd with 3rd and 1st, playing fourths, fifths, etc. to achieve strength, dexterity and independence of each finger and flexibility of the wrist and relaxed shoulders. And all this in only a period of about 2 years. And I started seriously with the exercises at the age of 52 :-). I still work on it, but the results are surprisingly. Thank you very much for your valuable and dedicated Videos and Work :-* PS: Sorry for my bad english :-O
