Used the sweet potato to progress down from a mid length all summer and now progressed into a fish twin fin. Sweet potato was a great replacement for my mid length. Easier to haul around and transport like a short board and still catch a ton of waves.
Fantastic, love all the boards and truely stoked & look forward to your further reviews. Whilst this video wasn’t about the board that can be separated in two. Would love to know how it separates and locks together. Any chance you could send a link about it or show the way it connects together?
The Seaside will grovel on up to a little overhead, no sweet potato needed. Then a standard every day short board, thruster, squash tail, for solid shoulder to a couple feet overhead. Then a step up rounded pin tail. 5'5" seaside, 5'10" high performance shortboard, 6'3" step up is how it works for me, until things get really big.
May I ask, as a progressing beginner can I jump from my 8'0 soft top straight to the Sweet Potato? I generally surf in subpar mushy condition and started trimming down the line (still working on the backhand) but I'm having an hard time trying to carving. Is this board still out of my league? Cheers!
Sounds like you're progressing into intermediate level. I think it's time to ditch the softy and go for a mid length PU board around 7'0 mark. Once you get comfortable with turns and speed on the middy, then I'd consider trying out a seaside or sweet potato. Keep in mind the seaside and sweet potato are very different boards than long boards and mids, they do take some getting used to, so recommend you try before you buy.
I wish I could say I loved Firewire but after trying out a couple (probably not the ones you have) but I really didn't like them ... maybe I'll try another however I know sweet potato is a favorite but I didn't like it it was so thick like you said and it dragged me
Where are the reviews of these three? I am going to Mexico next week. I can rent a Seaside, Hypto or Sweet Potato among others. Waves will be 2-5 range.
@@rctrix9063 you either got it too big or your not a good enough surfer these boards usually require a high demand unless you get a child shape but the modern is still more ass
@@foxgd88 Thanks but wait you haven't tested a sub 6' Modern Highline. Are you just a surfing elitist. I judge equipment by how much fun I get out of it, not how cool it is.

The older ones definitely cracked. I haven't looked at one as mostly a PU guy. Bought a Thunderbolt recently tho. Still dry but looking forward to the right day.
You deserve it man. I am legit stoked for you! Hope you shred everything near you. Looking forward to the in depth reviews with a few clips !

I also unpacked a 5'8'' for myself, today, so stoked to get in the water! But the waves are pumping in Portugal! Have fun with those beauties!
The sweet potato and lost swordfish, all I need here in Florida
Much love brother you guys have grown in such a short time and we’ll deserved because the program works, Aloha from bradduh Ahi 🤙🏽
Right on and hope these magic sticks treat you well. My go to is the sweet potato, mashup and spitfire.

How tall are you?
@@garrettsadventure 5'8", 155 lbs. I like a little more volume than most people, especially my groveler, I could be riding a 5'3" Seaside.
The original sweet potato in the round tail is best groveller ever...you'll be stoked on the updated model
I prefer mash up over seaside, I had the seaside, sold it haha
I have all 3 of these boards.. I ride them much smaller but they definitely cover a wide range of conditions
Which size for the Glazer are you use?
What is your height and weight? Just curious to compare with your board liters....
Sweet potato is a sick board! Wondering if you know how much the 5’6 weighs in helium…thanks!
kool..hope you take the gopro along when you try them out
I cant decide on the 5'6 or 5'8 sweetpotato... Im 5'11 165lbs whatchu think?
5,6 for sure. I’m 195 and 5’8 is perfect for me 🤙🏽

I dialed my 3 boards to the Seaside and Beyond, FireWire Vacay and Lost Crowd Killer.

Which kind of board is good for begginers?
Love the sweet potato, I have the 5'10
I have a modern board :) i think they are made in factory in thailand but who cares if it works for you
Maybe swap one of your grovellers for a step-up?
100% … all three boards are basically smaller wave boards and have a lot of overlap, he’s got nothing for when it’s pumping
@@butterf1shwhere does he live? Maybe he doesn’t get pumping surf

You’re covered for small waves… but not for overhead waves
How is the sweet potato going? Do you wish you got the 5'6?
Keep the modern and buy a shorter one (ie 5'10). Sell the FWs.
Na bro the modern is so shit compared to FireWire constructions. Bro can you at least afford one
@@foxgd88 Got one, not impressed.

You got the Potatoe too big?
Why don’t you show yourself surfing? It’s a bit disingenuous to provide surf instruction if you are a kook..
He never will. He gets asked this ALL the time on Instagram. Dude's scamming all the kooks out there.
Firewire's are not good boards. I have owned a lot of them and they don't last. Avoid Firewire and support your local shaper
In my experience they’re fabulous - so much lighter and more durable than pu boards. Agree however, that a custom surfboard is an exciting experiment

Jbay still sells glazers! They also do orders for you
