I grew up snowboarding in the MTNs of colorado - started surfing at 45 - - the cardio you need for surfing is far more demanding- the snowboarding only translated once I was up and getting on rail (3 years later mind!) - but - once paddling and popup was out a the way - I progressed very rapidly - best nugget of info from Craig: spend one board worth of money on a coach - someone to film you etc. !!! that's gold - still, nothing like groming up in a sport like surfing or snowboarding eh
... Took a lotta personal integrity to offer his personal opinion without playing diplomat in the end there. He's got a lotta people hanging on his words, producer(friends) and consumers alike. Props
Good talk and knowledge. But not mentioning thrusters is quite strange. Specially for someone who is surfboard analyst. And theres no shape with more high performance than thrusters. They made me surf better! And I started with one, and then two and when three fins came, it was the best. Twin fin and backside, can be complicated.
I agree so much on twin fins, you need to be a really good surfer to surf properly on a twin and in recent years I see so many people who surf twins and fishes that can't even put the board on rail, it freaks me out.
Kinda just want to know what his "must have" boards actually are without an hour long convo. Maybe but the answer to the videos title in the description somewhere. Otherwise the title is a bit missleading.
So good! Craig, yeah man one (of 3) of my kids got into surfing and skiing and we have been hitting the beach and ski hill 2-3 times a week. Its coming to an end now as she is going off to live on her own. Enjoy every minute my friend, this time with her has been the best years of my life, its gone a heartbeat, soak up every last drop, you'll thank me later, peace. 🙂🥲🤙🏼
