There’s a reason the History Channel has produced hundreds of documentaries about Hitler but only a few about Dwight D. Eisenhower. Bad guys (and gals) are eternally fascinating. Behind the Bastards dives in past the Cliffs Notes of the worst humans in history and exposes the bizarre realities of their lives. Listeners will learn about the young adult novels that helped Hitler form his monstrous ideology, the founder of Blackwater’s insane quest to build his own Air Force, the bizarre lives of the sons and daughters of dictators and Saddam Hussein’s side career as a trashy romance novelist.
New episodes twice a week on iHeartRadio.

Sofiya was on fire in this one 😂 Just the mental image of those babies sliding off those railway seats 😂
Am I going to hell for laughing throughout this? Probably, but at least I won't be alone. Like holy crap, this is horrifying, but wow is it crazy to hear about.
Sofiya is the reason I'm not drinking myself into a coma tonight
51:50 "Look, it's either adoption or the match factory for these kids" - The Judge... probably
Sofia is my favorite guest, she should be on every other episode
Aww, I was hoping the intro music would be all episode long
Man, my friend Billy Outhouse is gonna hate this one.
My hungry ass couldn't run an orphanage :)
I’m here from our Portuguese homestead recommendation.
Will be listening to the podcasts later. 😊
I bet if they just asked people, they would've given the baby away.
This is... so much worse than I was expecting. >.
Is this the origin of that Simpsons joke about it being legal to sell boys in Mississippi?
"I.5.b.
1865-
A robbery, theft; chiefly in to turn a trick, to commit a successful robbery or theft. U.S. slang."
Found out why they called that girl "a trick"
"Applied playfully to a small or amusing person, animal, or child. U.S. and Australian colloquial."
And that's the actual reason
Man the origins of adoption sure are awful also hilarious jokes in this one, best Co host u have had on
mommy dearest 💀
As a literal bastard, i.e. my siblings and I hatched out of wedlock, so Dad is only giving inheritance to his favorite son, the one named after him who looks just like him; I kinda take umbridge with the way that the word for "born out of wedlock" has somehow come to mean "worst sort of person." -Also, if you're interested the "Mun" is a bastard too, but you'll get no more details, because I don't feel like doxing myself.- Anyhow, this whole episode is genuinely horrifying! From start to finish, it's so much worse than I ever had any idea it could be... and I though being drafted into Dad's army at age 16 was bad...
I’m pretty sure that people shaming people for being born out of wedlock is at an all time historical low. I don’t think anyone but my grandparents had their kids after marriage in my whole family.
@@Randomjackass135 Yes, like female dogs, nobody is using the term for its original intent anymore. I mean, I'm glad that I'm not an outcast from society (at least not for this reason), but this show could be called "After the Assholes" if UA-cam didn't think "ass" was a swear. Heh-heh, of course, saying that out loud, I realize how stupid of a name it is... and "after" doesn't really mean "behind," despite what the Thesaurus says. Aw well.

Yeah, I could imagine Bowser having a pile of kids out of wedlock
Smooth ;D
I only want free-range, grass fed babies.
This got real dark, REAL fast. So did the humor, but it had to. Cracking dark jokes is the only way to get through this material
A few minutes in and uh... let's hear your "pro life" arguments now
Also, Kane/Burns' origin story is making a lot more sense.
Oh we need a Bad Gays pod episode on her since she's a lesbian
What are you rambling on about?
The thing is, adoption in the modern sense _couldn't_have existed before the 19th century, because _family_ in the modern sense didn't exist until then.
