I think you are just amazing! I just turned 50 and I have wanted to make things with wood for about 10 years now but I am so intimidated with saws and other tools. I"m jealous that you have the skills at such a young age. You keep at it! Your tray was beautiful.
@@augustineschaefer5522 54 year-old mom here and I concur! Been woodworking for about 12 years and it is an amazing stress-reliever and my zen happy place! Shara, thank you for sharing your talent, passion and expertise with us and inpsiring us!
wonderful job don't imagine it would be like that, after watching your video and comparing with others you're smarter than me thank you for this video you give me an idea to do things in the future
Leather and rope would also make nice handles!? I see the tray that could transition right into being a "port hole window" (forgive me for not knowing what the little round nautical windows are really called😇) with a few simple touches. Thank you for sharing such an inspiring piece, really got the gears turning. Have a great day and God bless.
When you're cutting circles like that, you can use a compass like jig similar to the one you used for the pencil but with your router. It'll take multiple passes to cut to full depth but you're guaranteed to have a perfect circle.

Do it. I’m in the same age range as you and I’m having the best time ever. Do all the things.

AZ Patriot yes I’ve done this with my router before 👍 it works great but I’m impatient and my router is tiny so it takes forever haha
