Dope vid man! I played Division 3 volleyball in NY and ended up playing for my national team so seeing dudes from the D3 level make it out always gets me hyped! It don’t matter the level you play, if you can ball, you can ball.
I play for Oglethorpe university. I was a freshman when you were a senior and we played your team for our first game. This is really cool to see that you’re overseas now.
Amazing how basketball is growing more in popularity overseas. It just highlights how a monopoly such as the NBA stifles grow and opportunity for more players on all levels.
Congrats bro , I’m trynna pursue the same thing , I haven’t got to college or anything yet though still trynna get out there especially me being 22 but your testimony definitely helped me out , God bless you and your journey bro bro ✝️🖤
Bro, thanks for sharing your testimony about how God opened doors for you to use your talent and love for the game to play professional ball in Taiwan. I'll be looking out for you at the games and maybe one day God will have our paths cross in Taiwan.
good work brother love to see that hard work pays off, im currently playing at sunset in oregon couple of kids on varsity are playing for pacific now but anyways man great video and best of luck playing pro brother
Awesome story man! As a Christian myself that's a really great lesson into how God can be shaping your future before you even understand what it will be. I guess I just was wondering how you went from averaging 9ppg at a D3 to dropping 40 against pros, do you think you've improved your game a lot since college?
Dope vid, but wish you mentioned the import rules. A lot of overseas leagues limits the number of import players you get, and having Taiwanese parents means that teams in Taiwan don't need to waste an import slot on you. That's why your first agent asked if you were of Chinese descent. If you didn't have Taiwanese descent, then the calculus for the teams completely changes. A lot of import players have pretty extensive basketball resumes.
Dope bro 🔥🔥🔥thinking of doing the same. Went Juco then NAIA but didn’t play at naia and kinda got away form the game for a while but started playing semi-pro last two years now going to Guatemala in February to get my start and try to earn an official contract.
Yo, encouraging testimony my brotha. It’s great to see you shout out your faith. My question- why are these agents looking specifically for American players who are Asian?
I think if you are ethnically Chinese, there will be specifically allocated spots for you even if u were born and grew up overseas, so you would not be considered an imported player
I‘m currently a 17year old German Christian player 6.1 PG keep up with posting ypur journey I will be following you I am in a similar situation with not knowing if and how I can make it
I mean Jeremy Lin’s bro only played d2 but maybe since he’s Jeremy lin’s brother that also enabled him to have more looks and has had a great career in Taiwan.
1:30 Calling these scouts out for having prejudices against asians is wildly stupid, you averaged 9 pts in D3, they didn't recruit you to a better uni for good reason
As another Christian Hooper trying to currently go pro, this was big for me! Praying that you have a good pro career brother!!

Thank you bro! And agents are primarily looking for asian americans because of the difference in skill level and difference in playing style.
