Paint Correction - YES !!!! New Headlights - YES !!!! Keep the car as a 4 door hot rod daily/family driver - YES !!!! Glad you got the car fixed - YES !!!!
Reading all the comments, its obvious most of your subs are living vicariously thru your videos. Its not possible for most guys to purchase a S600 ( new or used) so since you have one and are kinda handy with a wrench/camera. Its your "man rule" duty too keep the car....atleast to I can get one myself 😎
Get the paint correction done .. As for the headlights I wouldn't be here or there on them, Originals look great now.. And I would most definitely keep it, I've had Merc's most my life, I have always wanted a nice S600 but could never find one at the right price..
1- Clean garage 2- all mechanicals should be done before any cosmetics 3- all filters, all oils changed. 4- the very last thing after all mechanicals- headlights. Then after all that, paint fix. interior detail last. I love the v12 videos Keep up the good work brother.
Love ur videos. Got some older benzes myself. Headlights look 98% better than they did. I would leave em alone now. Just my opinion. Plz keep buying old benzes and keep doing these vids!!
Randy. Keep the car if you love it. You will regret it later on. Change the head lights and give it a new paint repair. You will love it more then. Trust me! Luv your videos since the UberMan time. You’re great and hope you get all the success you deserve. Keep up the good content!!!! Cheers!
Hi Bob, 2 days ago when I first click Mercedes S 600 and follows .What I saw you was desperate to fit and repair for a few dollars profit. more and things falling apart. my heart soak with sallow and pains. but today I see differently. you're in love with these iron lady.
Hey man, I’m hooked on your videos. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for almost a month now and I love the content. This is a sharp Benz and I think you should go all out and upgrade the headlights and do the paint correction. Keep up the great work.
I used it on my cl55 when my abc was leaking worked awsome for a month then one day while on the highway my power steering pump exploded because a pressure relief valve was clogged up by the bd but up until then i never had any. Problems with bd products the ac fix works great
I had Forgot that the pre facelift W220s didn't have clear headlights, but they still look alright cleaned up:).. I would totally advise that you do the paint correction yourself, most of those scratches can be removed or greatly lightened by compound and polish. You've already done the hardest and most technical work on it, paint correction is the easiest besides having to use some elbow grease!:)👍
Randy I'm watching this late in the game for this car but here is a tip. When you have areas with too much touch up paint gobbed on, take lacquer thinner on a rag and gently go across the paint. It will slowly remove the touch up paint. Quit when looks flush. To apply more paint the end of a paper match works well or a very fine hobby brush.
the fluid flush and renewed did most of restoring the ABC system functionality. the sealer fixed only the leak. shows us how important are clean and fresh fluids.
I had a Ford Taurus Sho that did the same thing with the steering rack. Things like binding or notching steering wheel when you would go around turns on hills or corners. What happens is all the metal shavings cause metal to metal binding in the cylinders that move like a piston full of fluid pressure. Also, your pressure sensors have little pin holes the fluid pushes into to operate a closed connection between a plate and a spring. This is one of the reasons why changing fluid on trans, gearbox .etc is important. I changed the fluid and filter on my truck transmission before I rebuilt it, even though it was slipping. Just so I could flush out the contaminants before I rebuilt it. Even though it was flushed, there was still remanats of metal inside the valve body and areas where it got stuck. But just things like flushing out the steering fluid on my sho by filling it, turning it a few times then running it empty from the return line till it was red again made it like new. I have also seen new cars where the transmission seemed like it was blown. But ended up being caused by a transmission flush at jiffy lube or not being changed for a long time. The reason for that one was the manufacturer designed the transmission with a internal filter system. So the only way to change the fluid is drain it. But when you don't change it or flush it. The metal gets into the secret screens, blocks them and causes no fluid to go through the shift system. So this being my long story and all. I am glad you changed and serviced the filter / fluid. I would assume the car would need another filter in 6 months of driving to catch up on metal cleaning. But that was something new to learn about the Merc hydraulic suspension. I used to have a lowrider for a few years. So I can understand how Mercedes designed the system to not be as tough and bouncy as that. I would also suspect that the clogged filter and gritty fluid probably put more stress on the lines by blocked flow. So I am glad you got that handled with all of that. There is no sense in changing it with oem fluid at this moment until the fluid is decontaminated and the filter is changed again. I would say change it after 6 months of daily driving. Incase the leak turns into a broken part or line from the clean fluid not plugging what the old fluid damaged. One last story as far as fluid. If your brake fluid is black, it is safer to change it at the reservoir or flush it. Than to ignore it, because the black stuff is worn rubber from your pressure seals. I went through this on a girlfriends car, changed the fluid and a few months later her brakes began getting softer and softer to the point of concern. Then ended up changing the master cylinder on a 300,000 mile Camry. But I am pretty sure if I did not change the fluid. She would have lost her brakes 100% during a hard stop with how quickly the master failed after changing the fluid that was keeping it from showing signs of age.
Nice car my friend glad you got the leveling system fixed. I think them headlights are fine the way they are. I would put it up for sale and get a good chunk for it and move on to another family vehicle. I believe it would make someone very happy . Thank you for the great videos greatings from Mexico my friend. ...
Nothing wrong with headlights, they look good, would the others look better maybe, but ones on it look great to me, glad you got her lined out great job.
Ive been watching your videos on this S600 and I have to say it really turned out to be a great looking and running car. Congrats! oh yeah and if you plan on keeping it, get the stuff done to it, why not! You dont have much money in it. Best of luck!
Please bring this beautiful S600 to paint correction and buy the facelift headlights , because that is the reason why the facelift model looks modern and better .
On the merz 600 Australia cars run super hot. Not much room under hood so add. The push fan that bolts on top of the motor push the air down you might ha e to modified the hood. That will cool that v12 down
Your headlights look just fine. Go ahead and get your paint correction if that's what you want to do. Keep in mind though that after you have it done every time you get one little small nick or chip in the paint it's going to bug you.
I really like this S600, for the year and having been sitting for as long as it did, it seems to be in really good shape. I’m looking to buy a new vehicle myself, daily driver. I recently sold my 2009 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro. Fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Rare color combo, Black outside , Red inside. Very low mileage, had just hit 60k. Had it for almost 2 yrs which is a very long time for me. Just really enjoyed driving it and it was great in the snow as well so I kept it a little longer than usual. Paid 15K sold it for 14K. Not bad at all for 2 years of daily driving especially Since the only maintenance I had to do in the 2 yrs of owning it was, 4 oil changes, a new set of ceramic brake pads, drilled rotors front and rear, new all season tires and replace a tpms sensor. Oh and I flushed all the fluids once. The 3.2L engine gave me absolutely no issues whatsoever and luckily had zero electrical problems, granted it only had 60,000 miles. Anyway I’m looking for a new daily driver, something alittle cheaper than my Audi. I did want a newer vehicle but if u wanted to sell this S600 and start a new project I would gladly pay u 4K cash or bank check and PayPal u a deposit before I even came to pick up the car so u know I am serious about buying it. I go to the local auctions here in CT where I live, once in a while I check out co-part. They have an auction every Tuesday about 30mins from where I live. Haven’t found anything yet and just figured I’d shoot you the offer. You don’t need to put new headlights on it or have it detailed. I’ll take care of that myself. As is 4K. Lmk if your interested. Thanks for your videos, I just subscribed to your channel. I like what your doing bro, Keep it up and I hope to hear back from you either way. You can email me if u want. m.carolan21@sbcglobal.net
Get the paint done get the headlights sell the corvette if you need money and keep the Mercedes you deserve it I think we’ve all grown attached to the Mercedes and hate to see it go you work hard you deserve a nice vehicle for you and your family
I have the same ABC in my SL500 and I just had my valve control replaced , it was leaking . So your description on how the car lowered and went up jerking was exactly the same. NOw it's been a while , how has it been??? Thank you . Love your car and it's a S600 v12 wow , how does that work ??
Gday Randy, do the paint for your own satisfaction and as for the lights, you've done the rears, if you've got the cash, do the fronts mate, you'll love it even more!
Very cool car! ;) Love this Videos! Just lost my Phaeton V10 TDI Long Version Individual because too expensive repair costs After 5 year driving :( Looking at this Great Deal is making me happy! Greetings from Bavaria!
Tbh I think the original lights look better than those aftermarket ones. The rust on the door is a priority now, I hope i will not see it in the next video. Keep up the great content Randy!
I love the W220 and am looking to get an S430 or S500. if you don't mind the gas mileage, I say keep it. Update body paint and keep head lights and just apply clear gloss spray to protect the restored headlight surface. it's great to have a luxury vehicle like this one. if you don't wanna keep it, then just sell it. You've already done a lot on it.
Had a s430v only issue was the hydraulic suspension failed and the car would take ages to raise. Which it had to do a lot because it would go down overnight
I say send it in for "paint correction" and perhaps look at what a decent PDR guy can do. I think the new headlights would be a plus especially if the one OE headlight's level motor doesn't work.. I was surprised about the blue devil stop leak - usually that sort of thing is "wishes in a bottle" but between the filter change, the tinkering with the ABC system and the "snake oil" it may have done the trick. For $3,000 in it I say keep it till it starts costing you several hundred a month and enjoy it - remember Winter isn't too far off and driving a Corvette then probably isn't the best idea.
my dad's Volvo 850's radiator started leaking about 8years ago, so we tryed something like this (i dont remeber the brand) and the thing doesnt leak anymore ever since (first radiator, 350k on it)
I would get the dents and paint done professionally and detail the car myself.that rust would annoy me every time i saw it. The clear headlamps do make the car look better and i think you said you could sell the old ones. Glad you managed to fix that leak. I hate leaks and warning lights :) I reckon you would still be on top if you were careful getting all the jobs done . Plus any work done should equal more content for us all to enjoy.
I wouldn't change the headlights. I'd do the paint correction Auto spa did an amazing job with that the last time. When i worked in Parts we sold A BUNCH of the Blue Devil products.
Maybe a good polish will buff out those scratches? I would hit that rust with a flapper disc, just open the door and grind. Use the paint code to buy paint online and repaint the repaired spot as well as the rear bumper. I would leave the headlights alone but it's up to you anyway.
If you get the pain correction done, it will make the rust and dings stand out more. Might be worth looking into having some paint work done first! That is if you are keeping it! lol I still think the upgraded headlights would make it look so much better. But it's your money and you have to justify the return if you do sell it! Keep up the great content!
Get the lights done as the rears have been done (keep it consistant) and do the paint correction. It'll be worth it. Maybe try and get the rust sorted a bit if possible
I have a question if you can help me. I noticed my oil was low and I'm talking really low, so I bought a quart of oil. I also noticed I had a small leak, no puddles but it leaves a stain wherever I park. I plan on getting an oil change this weekend but I didnt know if the blue devil oil stop leak would be a good idea to put in and let it run and try to stop the leak before the oil change? Is there anything I need to know before I put that stuff in my engine? It's an old car 2005 and I just need it to last til the end of the year.
I put a piece of cardboard under my car when I want to check for leaks, that way I don't stain my driveway (any more than it already is). And Oily fluids show really well on cardboard. Also, don't sell it. fix the rust and paint. Headlights are fine if they function.
I think that it depends if you’re going to keep it or sell it. If you’re going to keep it, do the headlights and paint. But if you’re going to sell it, sell it as is. Just mt opinion. I think you should keep it and sell the Prius. Good content as always Randy! 👍
Mate, I am from Melbourne, Australia, Car like this here...around 85-90K , if you can find it !!! , u have a gold mine on this car, keep it what ever u do, its pure luxury , now that u fixed it, why u selling it? it would be so silly and u would slap urself so hard for selling it, dont be greedy for 2 or 3 K and sell it, I would keep it till this car dies , it didnt cost u anything at all, u mostly fixed it urself. So Keep it n use it for what it is...pure luxury car that u would never be able to buy if it was brand new. Cheers man.
Keep the oem lights and get the paint correction and i would spend the money on rust and dent repair especially if your spending the money on paint correction. How much longer before we see you working with dealership?
For the headlights, use Mothers mag and aluminum polish and a variable speed buffer. Looks like new in a couple minutes. “Sweet Project Cars” has a good tutorial on how to do it.
The headlight connectors were changed for the “facelift” 03-06 models. So even if he did find a set he’d be in the same situation with the previous clear headlights.
keep the head lights and make the paint correction! i think most close to the original will be better, i use to have a ml350 2003 and i change the head light for one with LED, at the time i think was awesome but after i miss the original one
Congrats on the fix. As a MB collector nut with 6 in my garage now, I’m always looking for new play toys. So is it going up for sale soon? Hint-hint....I’m interested.
As long as the headlights pass the state inspection, I can't see any reason to change them. And it definitely deserves to be detailed, for a 2001 the car is in superb condition.
If you decide to keep it, you should get the clear headlights. The paint correction would be good too, however it'd be a shame to leave the rust spot and other stuff the paint correction won't fix, but those kind of repairs start to get really expensive really quick. Perhaps the guy with the dealership you partnered up with would hook you up with a deal, you mentioned him and his son do paint/bodywork.
Keep the headlights OEM they look way better right after you detailed them but if you want to buy aftermarket go ahead it's your money. And buy compound Meguiars and a buffing machine and detail yourself don't pay anybody to detail your own vehicle you could do it I know you could.
I think the original headlights look great as they are now. Aftermarket ones might not have the same quality as originals. Not sure if its worth the extra $400. I would’t do it if it was me.
I hate door dings!. I will park far away from others cars just to let me feel safe. By the way you can clean your parking floor from the oil leak with putting sand on the oil and let it sit for couple of days. I always do that after i change engine oil and some oil spill on the ground.
Seeing you put this in a Mercedes gives me more confidence to put it in my Audi😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️💀gotta luv a German Hey that's not fair u replaced parts and I dont want to🤦🏽♂️💀😂😂😂😂 Last edit promise: u said u "thrashed the engine" im crying 💀😂😂😂
Leave the headlights. Do the paint correction. Apply a ceramic coat to the finish, and make sure they ceramic coat the headlights as well. Drive it like a boss!!!!
Since you put so much work on it and it's dependable for you and your family I would keep it.. If the Head lights work. I would keep them but the new Head Lights would look better and the paint is ok but having the paint would look better. Doing all this work I would keep it

The suspension and power steering pump are one part in this car. So yes, it works.
Go ahead and make the changes. It's worth it
Thanks for sharing this product test.
my dad's Volvo 850's radiator started leaking about 8years ago, so we tryed something like this (i dont remeber the brand) and the thing doesnt leak anymore ever since (first radiator, 350k on it)
yes do both and keep it so you and Lorenzo can cruise around in the Benzo.
I would get the dents and paint done professionally and detail the car myself.that rust would annoy me every time i saw it. The clear headlamps do make the car look better and i think you said you could sell the old ones.
Glad you managed to fix that leak. I hate leaks and warning lights :)
I reckon you would still be on top if you were careful getting all the jobs done .
Plus any work done should equal more content for us all to enjoy.
You're 100% correct.
Keep it and do the paint correction. Please fix that door though. It will only get worse and it is not too expensive of a repair.
I'll talk to Mike (Weird Beard) and see if he can help.
If rust is bad, go to a salvage yard and get a door with same color. @Tavarish did that for his W220
I wouldn't change the headlights. I'd do the paint correction Auto spa did an amazing job with that the last time. When i worked in Parts we sold A BUNCH of the Blue Devil products.
Paint correction -yes
New headlights-yes
Keep it-yes
Great job
Maybe a good polish will buff out those scratches? I would hit that rust with a flapper disc, just open the door and grind. Use the paint code to buy paint online and repaint the repaired spot as well as the rear bumper. I would leave the headlights alone but it's up to you anyway.
New taillights look great.
It has been three years.
Did it hold up?
If you get the pain correction done, it will make the rust and dings stand out more. Might be worth looking into having some paint work done first! That is if you are keeping it! lol I still think the upgraded headlights would make it look so much better. But it's your money and you have to justify the return if you do sell it! Keep up the great content!
Money is not EVERYTHING. Enjoy the car.
I’d still do the headlights since you did the taillights. Would you consider getting the wheels chromed?
Get the lights done as the rears have been done (keep it consistant) and do the paint correction. It'll be worth it. Maybe try and get the rust sorted a bit if possible
Also get the bumper scuff done
Great car I wouldn't NEVER sell it,you got that car for less than $2000,GREAT car right there...
Man you should not pay any atenchen to any one if it works it works that all that matters man love your clips your on a roll man go 4 it
Yes, send it for paint correction and the headlights.
Do it all! You love it and you want to keep driving it!
I take it you didn't get the Jag from yesterday. I love the green color you were talking about.
The car is beautiful! Keep it as a collection item!!
For the headlights, use Mothers mag and aluminum polish and a variable speed buffer. Looks like new in a couple minutes. “Sweet Project Cars” has a good tutorial on how to do it.
As stated in the video, these look as good as the day it rolled off the line. These were never clear.
You should check the junkyards for the headlights. Maybe you could get OEM ones.
Blacked out headlight housing would look great on this thing.
Sadly they don't make them for this car.
+Auto Action Rebuilds, not sure if this would work.
www.xtralights.com/00-05-mercedes-benz-s-class-w220-projector-headlights-black-pair
Auto Auction Rebuilds just bake your headlights and paint the insides black. Throw a new clear lens on it and seal it back up.
What he said.
You're gonna keep that car, i can tell. get the paint corrected and lights replaced, it will be worth it for you once you see it
I would be very concerned long term what that stuff will do to the valve blocks. Hoping the best for you, no hate.
Congrats on the fix. As a MB collector nut with 6 in my garage now, I’m always looking for new play toys. So is it going up for sale soon? Hint-hint....I’m interested.
Probably very soon. Feel free to email autoauctionrebuilds@gmail.com if you're interested.
As long as the headlights pass the state inspection, I can't see any reason to change them. And it definitely deserves to be detailed, for a 2001 the car is in superb condition.
Please replace the headlights and also go for the paint correction. This baby deserves it.
I've heard BLUE DEVIL STOP LEAK was a great product,I guess it's true, that S600 is a TRUE BEAST, COMFORT, POWERFUL,real nice car...
Keep the headlights OEM they look way better right after you detailed them but if you want to buy aftermarket go ahead it's your money. And buy compound Meguiars and a buffing machine and detail yourself don't pay anybody to detail your own vehicle you could do it I know you could.
By just changing the filter and oil will stop the leaks
Replace the headlights and fix the paint my Man! Keep your daily badass driver!!!
Does it fix major leaks too ?
Send for paint correction and keep the headlights on the road Master 600S
I think the original headlights look great as they are now. Aftermarket ones might not have the same quality as originals. Not sure if its worth the extra $400. I would’t do it if it was me.
Get the paint correction, and if the headlights function correctly don’t change them.
I hate door dings!. I will park far away from others cars just to let me feel safe. By the way you can clean your parking floor from the oil leak with putting sand on the oil and let it sit for couple of days. I always do that after i change engine oil and some oil spill on the ground.
Seeing you put this in a Mercedes gives me more confidence to put it in my Audi😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️💀gotta luv a German
Hey that's not fair u replaced parts and I dont want to🤦🏽♂️💀😂😂😂😂
Last edit promise: u said u "thrashed the engine" im crying 💀😂😂😂
the headlights look fine keep'em.. if u're keepin it definitely do the paint correction.
Doing all this work I would keep it
You've got 99% of the issues corrected. Keep it and enjoy it. You will not find another one! You gotta admit, it's a badass car!
