This is why I love Dave. He is the Voice of the people. He is using his platform responsibly. Not trying to make guns look appealing etc. national treasure
It’s a funny one cause I completely agree with you and he does it well while still remaining interesting to rap listeners but he does still talk about guns in a glamourised way on tracks like clash. But I like to listen to music like that sometimes, I can’t deny sometimes it’s just what I’m in the mood for
David Cameron was the Prime Minister who to placate the righter wing in his party and to try and stem the tide of voters migrating to fringe parties agreed to have the vote on Brexit. He agreed but didn't think it would ever happen. When it did he split and run and left everyone else to clean up after him.
context for the title, we have a TV show in the UK called Question Time and it's where the public get to ask the government questions so this song is like Dave hosting is own show.
Problem is the questions are pre selected by the bbc. It just feels real dumbed down debates where politicians search for one liners to get applause instead of solving any issues.
When Dave is talking about sending everyone to jail for joint enterprise, he's talking about the Grenfell Tower tragedy where the tower was covered in cladding that was highly flammable and it turned the block into a furnace. A lot of UK people have done songs on it. Lowkey done 2 called the ghosts of Grenfell
very heavy track and lyrics from Dave spitting the truth on how us in the UK really feel...at some point this madness has to stop and i hope before i die we all get along as Brothers and Sisters regardless of who you worship or what ya fkin skin colour is.
A man who is upfront about his involvement in the game but has made it his mission to discourage youngers from making the same mistakes. Its so important that there's someone highlighting all the death and heartache that comes from a life thats continuously glorified. This song will have inspired the, otherwise apathetic, youth to engage in politics. He gives so many underdogs a voice and im so happy he has continued with these themes as his fame rose. It would be easy to lose touch, just rap about girls and money. He can do that, but his morals and advocacy are always on full display. Truly once in a lifetime voice. He embodies Pac in a way no other artist since has.
Another point on the joint enterprise/cladding bar. Dave's brother was sent to jail under joint enterprise, (where a whole group or gang can be convicted based on the acts of one or part of the gang)
As a reaction channel to music, we try to avoid politically charged topics and prefer to focus more on the music. There is obviously some overlap from time to time, but we made the channel to discover music not talk about politics. Hope you understand ✌️🍻
That Palestine bar is a prime example of art being timeless
Free palestine🇵🇸

And instead of cleaning up they made things a lot worse. May and Boris really screwed this country

Question Time is a British TV show where politicians sit on a panel and take (heavily vetted) questions from the audience
So glad you did this reaction, it is usually an overlooked Dave track on other channels.
Love how he use his platform to speak about this big up Dave!

Amen to that 🙏
Dave is 25 and he’s been putting banger after banger out for quite a few years now. Lyrically he’s incredible. For someone so young it’s crazy.
Fantastic reaction guys! My young broski Dave 🔥
