At the time it was a fact and still believe til this day no police officer in Britain has ever been sent to prison for a black person being killed by police Its worth noting these names as you may here them in other songs, also two names your likely to hear for similar reasons are Mark Duggan and Steven Lawrence, little background on each: Mark Duggan was shot dead by police and this is what sparked the London riots back in 2011. He has a son that is a rapper goes by Bandokay so if anyone ever suggests a song with that name you know. Steve Lawrence wasn’t killed by police but was murdered in a racial attack back in the 90’s and shock the treatment of the case was terrible after I believe 15-16 they landed convictions on 2 out of like 5-6 of them. His case changed the landscape of Race relation legislation here after it exposed high level professional incompetence and systemic racism just flat out corruption.
Not to mention the military equipment left within the "intervention" area. Literally training and weaponising a traumatised generation who know nothing but loss and brutality
So right about being a target for mentioning the wrong subject it really pissed me off when the BBC censored Mic Righteous several times just for saying Free Palestine yet were happy for rappers to talk about guns, violence and drugs. Though in a weird way I'm glad because it really opened my eyes to their shady shit.
