Nice. My ELF right now has a hub motor on each of 3 wheels, all wheel drive, and well over 5000w of output. You have to have strong torque arms for any eBike!
I do have pictures, if I can figure out how to send them. I've hauled 475 lb in the back of it, and it's my primary transport. They're grin all axle hub motors.
@@dice268926 So I have the stock panel, it does help a little, on sunny days it makes around 10 miles of range. I don't really like mid drives because they snap chains, and 3 grin motors make the ELF a complete rocket ship, 0-30 in 5 seconds and a top speed in the 40s even with my largest load inside of 475lb plus a trailer.
Honestly, heavier trikes like the ELF and other cargo trikes should have that kind of power anyway. The PEBls even have 1500-watt motors purely because such power is needed to get the vehicle moving. 250-750 watts might be more than enough for a regular bike, but heavy trikes need more.
So Hi Chris, I am actually a e-bike tech who was once the largest collector of the ELF and the ELF was built to run on 48v not 24v I would love to chat about your ELF modification I did shoot you a email.
Does this update continue to have rear brakes? I didn't see any in the video. At 72V I'd like to have a big disc brake in the rear as well as the front.
I never thought of that because there was zero rear brake set up on this to begin with. Also though many rear hub kits do have a disk brake option this one didn’t. I was provided with the motor kit and the elf. So I just made it work with what was there. Perhaps that’s a next upgrade along with some suspension. It gets pretty sketchy at 35 and I assume two disk brakes up front is fine at 35mph this things so long it’s not doing an endo hahah
Heck yeah! I actually just finished all the wiring for the lights yesterday and this project is headed back to its owner tomorrow! Sad to see it go but happy for a bit more room in the shop hahaha Whatcha got in mind?
@@ecophage sorry for the late reply, happy this video reached 1K already! Congratulations. Could you add a bike or motorcycle engine and gas tank into it and convert to a hybrid?

Totally, pedaling this thing is a bit difficult haha
Thanks for the video - Subscribed -. Can you share a list of your parts and links if available?
I put the motor kit in the description

Ahh I thought the owner had said 24v that makes sense though I thought 24v seemed low
I want it!
