VIOLENT mosh pit. Thousands of people rushing all at once. People jumping off the upper level. Fucking EPIC!! Still have my ticket stub to this day.
I love him. Always have. But watching this video made me realize just how mature he's become. And I do look up to how he conveys his thoughts through a fluid and well connected speech. He is something else.
They need money for the real art, although I admit I have not listened to a Mars Volta album since that one with the middle eastern front cover and vibes. That had some great tunes on it but It wasnt De Loused or Mute
If they want money for the real art, they just need to do a tour of De-Loused start to finish. Personally, FTM is my favourite but De-Loused was a big album and people would pay to see the whole thing played out.

I think that was some of the main ingredients to the goodness that was the first 3 TMV albums.
That second half of the convo the interviewer kept trying to drive the convo into some ANTI-TRUMP rant from Cedric. Even though I'd guess Cedric isn't a fan when he mentioned it would apply to Obama too, the interviewer had this look on his face like "this isn't what I wanted" lol
I´m so glad to see Cedric speak. I´ve always seen Omar speak at interviews and to be honest, it seems to me like he does not how to express himself using words. I think he has great musical talent, but he doesn´t make eye contact to the interviewers, he is never clear, he diverges from subject, he likes to act all mysterious and savvy when it doesn´t correspond to his age anymore. Cedric was really clear and I don´t think I had seen anything like that coming from The Mars Volta. I understand lyrics can be somehow unclear and have a way of taking you other places, but when a person tries to act that way it becomes ridiculous. Heads up to The Mars Volta. I hope you guys make some great music.

I do agree a lot of artists don't sound good or are just plain boring in interviews but Omar is actually one of those I put on the list of those few that are fascinating to listen to.
Unfortunately it will never be a true reunion since Ikey Owens died a few years back, but hopefully they can do something along those lines someday, regardless.

That and the "gun in your face/ everyone plays their parts without knowing the others" type of recording process associated with TMV might put even someone like Juan in a bad place and cause some bad blood. But in any case, I would hope Juan is a part of a reunion if they make it happen and that he and Omar can get through any disagreements.
