    Cedric Bixler Zavala you are so awesome man. "There is only love when pain is expressed". Thank you for your presence and performances. Your multi-linguistic aptitude and abilties will surely inspire people such as myself for sometime to come. I will never forget seeing you and your band at Austin Music Hall in Austin, TX. I was fortunate enough at age 17 to see At the Drive-in and Rage Against the Machine at The Palace of Auburn Hills (11/27/99) and it was hands down the wildest show Ive ever been to. VIOLENT mosh pit. Thousands of people rushing all at once. People jumping off the upper level. Fucking EPIC!! Still have my ticket stub to this day.

      @JonesBalognes 5 років тому

      @@tritone2276 honestly a Mars Volta reunion would be great, even if Ikey isn't part of it. Cedric, Omar, Eva, Jon, Marcel and maybe Tony, Adrian and Pablo would kick ass (no juan since i think him and omar arent on good terms)

    • @tritone2276
      @tritone2276 5 років тому

      @@JonesBalognes that's weird that Juan and Omar might not be on good terms, they both have done stuff with Sargeant House and associate closely with that group, Omar with some of his projects and working with Teri Gender Bender, Juan hanging with Nick Reinhart and doing "Pedals and Effects" and having his own project, Big Sir, release some albums via the label iirc
      At the same time, however, Omar seems like a guy who can be chill but can get uneasy or uptight if the project isn't happening right for him.
      That and the "gun in your face/ everyone plays their parts without knowing the others" type of recording process associated with TMV might put even someone like Juan in a bad place and cause some bad blood.
      But in any case, I would hope Juan is a part of a reunion if they make it happen and that he and Omar can get through any disagreements. Like, if At the Drive In of all bands can somehow get back together, I hold hope. Thanks for replying, btw.

    I´m so glad to see Cedric speak. I´ve always seen Omar speak at interviews and to be honest, it seems to me like he does not how to express himself using words. I think he has great musical talent, but he doesn´t make eye contact to the interviewers, he is never clear, he diverges from subject, he likes to act all mysterious and savvy when it doesn´t correspond to his age anymore. Cedric was really clear and I don´t think I had seen anything like that coming from The Mars Volta. I understand lyrics can be somehow unclear and have a way of taking you other places, but when a person tries to act that way it becomes ridiculous. Heads up to The Mars Volta. I for one will take the new ATDI record over the last TMV record any day of the week. I love TMV but Octahedron was crap.

    • @R3TR0R4V3

      The last Volta record was Noctourniquet though.. Which is seems to be everyone's least favorite one. YMMV

      WizardsWithMachinery y bad I get them confused because I dislike both so much. Octahedron is uninspired, Noctourniquet is better but the mix is washed in reverb and has a really bad sound.

    not broken - on the contrary, it (the system) works by design. I mean, I know what he means ... but the system isn't broken. if we were against all systems, we'd be on the right track toward healthy communities and a healthy planet.

    Cedric is absolutely right...... the media made Trump the face of "the game", but the game has been the same no matter who is in the white house/senate/congress...... Obama was cute, but nowhere near as amazing as public perceives him...... he had his fuck-ups, it's just mainstream media doesn't blow it up, like they do with Trump
