- I can't believe it's been over a year since I began my elimination diet journey! I wanted to talk about the impacts this experience had on my diet, my immune system, and my daily life. For those of you who are new to my channel, I took an at-home food sensitivity test from EverlyWell and removed the 33 foods that came up as "reactive" from my diet. I know there's debate around the accuracy of these tests, but I felt it was a great baseline for me to explore what foods I should remove from my diet.

For anyone struggling with aa yeast imbalance (eg. candida overgrowth), I would highly recommend adding in a caprylic acid capsule to at least one meal a day. :)
Thank you so much for this video. My doctor had me eliminate gluten and dairy a week ago today and I plan to carry on for at least a month before reintroducing them back into my diet. I've just sent off my food sensitivity/allergy test and I'm very hopeful for a better quality of life in the near future. I'll check back in later with an update.
I'm so glad I could be of any help! It can feel pretty overwhelming at first, but it gets easier. I'm excited to hear how everything goes for you - I hope you have a good experience!! 💜
Hey Laura! Thank you for sharing your experiences! I am just starting out to do my second Elimination Diet. I did one before but hard-core for 3 weeks. And in another moment 2 weeks juice fast. I felt so much lighter and better, more energy, more joy but I didn't pay enough attention when reintroducing foods again. I kinda like reintroduced everything at once and wasn't so mindful about it. haha So, now I decided to really approach it from a different angle. There are many ED like this, some more strict than others in respect of eliminating food so I need to dig in a little deeper what foods to remove during that time.
You answered all of my questions! thank you for sharing :)
I'm so glad to hear I could answer your questions! Feel free to reach out if other questions come up! :)
After dealing with at least one GI issue per month over the past 10 months, you have inspired me to do some research about elimination diet.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I'm so sorry to hear you've been having consistent GI issues - that sounds incredibly frustrating! I hope you can find some relief soon!
GMO gluten is the worst byproduct of the agro-industry in the US. No gluten issue from wheat coming from other countries where the GMO process was not used.
Thanks to the FDA for approving such poison to be developed just to maximize the profits of the industry.
Thank you! Helpful! Considering an elimination diet now
Gluten in the states is horrible because it’s been modified. You’re not allergic to bread; just americas. When I went to Europe in Austria and ate the bread that was made locally, I had NO issues; then I came back to the states and literally gagged after the first bite of bread here. I was so so upset
Enriched wheat flour. It’s estimated that about 40-50% of the population has a gene mutation that makes them unable to process enriched wheat products. This is only done in America for some reason so that’s why you can eat bread from other countries and feel fine afterwards
you have 1 reply but it won't show it to me O.o
Incredible video, thanks
Thank you so much! 💜
Good job. You are a wise woman. I am a retired engineer who had a lot of health problems which I control well by diet and some supplements. 4 doctors failed to help me. It took me 20 years of sickness before I did my own homework and found my cure.
Mind sharing what the number one culprit food was?
@@Canadian_Eh_I This is only my system. I have a mitochrondia genetic weakness. I discovered I couldn't digest meat or dairy well. My solutions were going vegan, amino acid L-Carnitine supplement to help cellular digestion of fat, 24 hour fast once or twice a week, and 8 to 9 hours sleep. With all that I can function well, even exercise although I don't run marathons.
@@Reason-n-Rhyme V interesting thanks.
I'm trying to help my mom
@@Squirrel-zq6oe What has she tried? Has she had a full blood testing panel done? A good nutritionalist/doctor who does hair and nail testing can find if she has a toxin problem or mineral imbalance. Of course, the elimination diet is wise, starting with all the usual suspects. Most people do best on whole food, organic vegan diet, but rarely a person needs to go carnivore or keto at least for a while. Gluten is the first thing go eliminate. Fasting eliminates toxins. People have to build up to doing 3 day fasts. But they they are easy and painless. If a person feels horrible while fasting that might be good, indicating she is detoxing.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Beginning discovery phase
Best of luck to you!! 💜
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks so much for all your support! I really appreciate you!
Balancing Laura you certainly made me revaluate my diet and eating habits. Thank you for sparking this in me. Glad to support the channel.
Thank you for sharing
Super helpful
Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your experience. I might be dealing with similar gluten related symptoms. Btw since you mentioned you have anemia, have you checked your Vitamin B12 levels?
The elimination diet sure took a lot of discipline, but it paid off!
It definitely took a LOT of discipline, but I'm SO glad I did it! Thanks for your support!

hi laura, so do you eliminate gluten, dairy, eggs and milk, and refined sugar?
Have you tried raw dairy? Dairy in its natural form rather than the processed pasteurized junk sold in supermarkets may give you better result, as raw dairy is rich in probiotics.
Im wondering if u could list 10 safe foods?
I cant eat anything. Only meat is safe it feels like. Fruit which is usually safe has «fodmaps»… grapes gives me extreme anxiety
Read the book "Fiber Fueled" b Will Busiewicz MD.
How long did it take for the elimination to work? I’m on week 2 of a very strict diet and I’m not seeing much results.
It can take several months (depending on the state of your gut) but it will be worth it! x
What about salicylates amines glutamates and additives
I wonder if you were not allergic at all, to any of the foods on the mild section
From what I've seen I don't think I have any sensitivities to the foods that came up as mild, which is definitely good news!
5 months of vertigo is insane!
It was the WORST! I was traveling every week for work, and sitting in the backseat of an Uber every day was a miserable experience. I'm so glad I'm on the other side of it now!
@@BalancingLaura you may have had Candida overgrowth, I'm surprised you never mentioned that
Did u forget to tell what you ate on the Elimination diet or did I miss something in this video?!!
I actually created a whole playlist with a bunch of videos related to my elimination diet. Here's a specific video for what I ate (but that info is also mentioned throughout some of the other videos as well): ua-cam.com/video/m3TaXFzxxa0/v-deo.html
Hope this helps! 💜
Seems counterproductive to keep eating foods that cause you symptoms
I’m on my first day and have a headache lol
Hang in there!! The first week or two is the toughest!
It's 2020 on your video, why don't you just use dairy alternatives?
because they are full of sugars, gum, inflammatory oils, etc. they are literal trash for your body unless you make your own
@@hllymchll exactly, make your own.
Some dairy alternatives are good but like every cheese alternative is… not. Lol
@@mollybrown4764 Have you ever checked into how they make cheese, it's disgusting.
@@lornadoell I don’t eat cheese, but I also don’t eat cheese alternatives because they aren’t good, so I’m offering a reason why someone else would also not eat cheese alternatives
Sounds like you just had a Dairy allergy lol,
