That's a great idea for sure, I'm just afraid all the wash places are closed as the water in their noses would freeze and potentially damage their equipment. I guess that's why he didn't this way
@@16matusko I have a local coin wash by me and the owner always uses hot water all year round and during the winter he lets the nozzle drip hot water and never freezes. Even in negative weather it’s open.
Yes, I would also highly recommend this. But for myself if I was at the wash bay and rinsing it off, why not just go ahead and do the traditional wash? I think this is great way to wash a car if you have no other means of doing it, but it’s definitely my last option.
I was able to pickup a McCullough open box special on Amazon for 80 bucks. Has 45 mins of non stop steam too. There are deals out there, just check around. The steamer is the best for deodorizing interiors also.

@@AT_motors it’s actually a much quicker and cheaper wash method, but I get it I am not a huge rinse less wash advocate. I much rather do a traditional wash. The car is definitely not as clean as a traditional wash, but if you had a car with just a light dusting, this is a very safe way to get it back to clean and you can do it in your garage in about 10 minutes.

That's a interesting way to go about it .. in my town we have these bays with drains and a power washer and you put quarters in this slot and it gives you a set amount of time and the water is warm. They are marvelous! I bet you will get one in your town they are gettin popular!

I have a portable shower and sprayer that I use to wash off the undercarriage of my vehicles. I let the rain wash off the salt/grime and then use a waterless wash.

I understand the situation and the restrictions and therefore the need for the products and procedure like this. Living in a country where snow is near non existent I could never ever do this, I just like my cars too much, if I'm going to do a contact wash I will want as much dirt lifted off as possible before touching it.
I’ve always been reluctant to try this, but on a lightly soiled car I could see trying this for maintenance washes since I live in an apartment. I feel better about being able to use a hose or pressure washer but this does have its place.

Well i have used that method almost my whole life. But just for a couple of days of dirt. I don't live in a Extreme weather country so i prefer to wait to proper cleaning. Love your Mercedes Videos mostly Alex!
I use a pump sprayer, with an "antenna" wand, and a 80 degree nozzle, to spray 2 gallons of water mixed with Salt's Gone.. I do the entire car, including under the car.... Then rinse with the same pump sprayer, but just plain water... Completely touchless, i blow dry with my battery operated leaf blower, .... I do 3 cars in my garage in 1/2 hour.... all to get the salt off..
A fan of both channels and just started using ONR this winter and it has made life much easier. Gotta say, with that much salt I would have gone to the pay n’ spray before using the ONR in the shop.🤷🏾♂️ (That steamer was definitely extra😅)
Coming from someone with a black car on salty MN roads... just take it to a self wash to powerwash first. Can actually clean wheel wells and underneath that way. Then go home and do this with much less risk of scratches
How to wash a car when it's freezing outside: 1) Take the car to your favourite car wash and wash it as you would during summer. 2) Drive straight to a downtown shopping mall that has indoor heated (underground?) parking. 3) Go for a leisurely lunch and/or dinner, shopping, movie etc. Typically, with the low humidity of winter, the car will be bone-dry in an hour or two.
I've been using Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with water to clean my grandma's Lincoln for a couple years now and it does absolutely fantastic. The only downside is you have to rinse the car really really well or it'll streak bad
ONR tune turned me into a believer years ago. I've had numerous clients with brand new black vehicles that have only been washed with ONR (except for the dealership wash 😔) and looked just as new when they traded or sold them. I've only use the big red sponge. Small sections at a time. Definitely faster than traditional soap and water washing.

Dude, loved your CL65 drive last week, this cleaning guy one is craaaap. Don’t take you audience for granted - we demanded a “everything wrong with my CL vid” and got a cleaning guy with some detergents and some sponges - fail dude
Two detail kegs, one with rinseless wash, one with deionized water. Use the big red sponge and two buckets with grit guards (very important) and of course separate wheel bucket and sponge (we use black sponge on wheels and red on paint). Once the whole car had been washed, we rinse the car down quickly with the second keg to flush dirt and dilute the rinseless wash residue, then we dry the car. Otherwise you risk grabbing dirt off an adjacent panel with your drying towel. It’s basically a controlled car wash, leave the keg you’re using hooked up to an air compressor with a regulator and you got consistent 150 psi. Is a pressure washer better? Yes, but only for an initial rinse, foam, and rinse.
A 1gal sprayer will make your life easier. You'll be able to soak the car thoroughly in one go. In the winter go to the self wash, spray the car down with soap and rinse (no brush!) Then use the gallon of onr in the gallon sprayer and dry with a bunch of towels. Super easy, you get the salt off the underside and wheel wells too.
That practically abandoned Mercedes that's been buried in snow in front of my house for the last month or so is finally seeing day light now that enough snow has melted off the pile. It could use this... it could use a new owner too considering the person that let it get buried out there.

Probably not, you'll still have to sand the clearcoat, with a pad and then you could respray, if it has flaking clear you would have to remove all the, flaking clear and not damage the colorcoat
@@sergeykuznetsov4314 if your gonna have to respray, polishing it is pointless because your gonna have to scuff it back up to spray clear. After you spray clear thats when you do your paint correction with nibs, defects, and that'll be with wetsanding.

While interesting if you don't have a garage it's not going to work. If you're out in the cold and don't have access to car wash, pretty much the best option I've found is the ammo frothe , spray the foam on and wipe off quickly. No ice forming from the water in a rinseless wash like this.

California has had a few draughts recently, and I understand they had restrictions too. It's because of scarcity when it hasn't rained for a while.

You can use it inside your house too. Steamers are great for getting bathrooms sparkling clean.

I've been washing my car like this for 5 years. IMPORTANT TIP - break the car into sections do it a panel at a time.

If you seal the undercarriage with Amsoil's product or fluidfilm, you dont have to worry about it :)
LegitStreetCars Try doing a Dry Ice clean. That method removes all grime without damaging any component.
It's quite expensive though!

I’ve been using this product for years now. It’s great. If done correctly, it doesn’t scratch the paint.

yeah dont use dawn the chemicals in dish soap will strip your paint. use meguiars gold class

No sanding required, it's a relatively new car, I'm just thinking of polishing it, you know? And avoiding further scratches
