It’s truly amazing the lengths to are willing to go to fully restore this car. Most other UA-camrs would be fine with the “10 footer” look for the camera. The extent and investment made to restore this really puts the LEGIT in LSC. Amazing work Alex!
Going to say it again. This is one of the best car channels on UA-cam. Always fun to watch and always something to learn. Alex and Peter are like peas and carrots. Thanks for all the hard work from the whole team.
This was such a satisfying restoration. Your love for this car is so apparent. So many UA-camrs buy their “dream car”, barely fix it enough to get it drivable and then immediately sell it. This was so much more. A true journey with someone who genuinely loves the car they are working on and want to keep forever ❤
Man the GN looks awesome...what a difference in the paint appearance! Those seat covers were highly desirable BTW...they do an excellent job protecting the seats. Kirban's used to sell them many years ago and they are super hard to find now.
The irony is, because of Alex I sent my car for some PPF to the guys at Chicago Auto Pros and while there Alex shows up to shoot his video and my car ends up in the background. 😁

I have to commend you on your passion for the car. The work you have done is really tastefully executed. The paint detail and PPF is just incredible. Big thumbs up 👍🏻🫵🏻👊🏻
Alex, the way you talked about how your dream car doesn't need to be something crazy really hit me. I have a 1987 Chevy R10 that's my forever project/daily right now. My dad bought it new and my grandpa had it for well over a decade. It's been mine since my freshman year of college (7 years ago) and it's been my daily for over a year. I know it's not special, the paint is shit, and it'll never be worth much, but it's really cool to have my fire for it constantly reignited by you. Thank you for the effort you put in your videos. It gives me the drive to continue
I also own a ‘86 Grand National and live in IL. It’s hard finding a mechanic that’s willing to work on these and has the knowledge to do so. Any suggestions?
LSC licence plate, and maybe a LSC club plaque in the back instead of the LSC sticker on the rear windshield. U don't need any more Grand National mascot crap. IMO... but wat do I noe? Since I liked it badge less. Either way she's gorgeous 2 me. Enjoy.
The GN looks amazing!!! Alex your attention to detail is amazing, adjusting the body lines really makes a difference!!!! Thank you so much for preserving a piece of automotive history!!!!!
Congrats Alex I'm jealous. What an amazing car. I've always loved the GN. You are so fortunate to own this gem. This video was incredibly satisfying. What a transformation.
I love how the car turned out, Alex! This brings me back to my childhood as well. I remember, cruising down Harlem Avenue back in the day, and you would see these cars cruising. From a crawl, they would punch it, and they would just smoke the tires down the street.
Words CAN'T actually convey the feeling when I saw this car! The finished result is only abel to be judged and it's judged in 90s tears my friend. I actually wiped tears when you pulled it out. Thank you so much Alex!
Love your passion. Those guys (and you) did an incredible job. If I didn't live so far away, I'd bring my 22' Supra and my 01' Lightning there and get the same thing done. But, at least we get to feel the love vicariously through you. Thanks for sharing, Alex. This was wonderful. (Also, bring back more Peter).
Alex, you are by far and beyond my favorite cartuber, brother. You always seem to evoke the true passion for bad @ss street cars like when I was getting into cars, and I’m 44. I love that this kind of effort and attention to detail is still exciting to some and the opportunities you pulled in are each something I had an affinity for back in the day. Keep going man!
Congrats brother, you have done an amazing job from start to finish, I have watched the whole journey of this Grand National and was so excited when you would post your videos for this build, This has turned out killer!! Great work, I hope you enjoy your dream car and as always look forward to your builds.👍 Keep up the very inspiring content.. Thankyou
Just like the Grand National and T Type the power bulge hood design is the same term used on our CTS-V hoods. But we have 556 hp stock power! First time in almost 3 yrs of ownership I drove 5 hrs in my sedan today. The Recaro's are a bit of a challenge at times. But worthy of the pain!
Not to mention the 15 passenger Express van is so bad to the bone. I have a 2004 version. Here in The Detroit area it is showing the issues expected. But this vehicle is so dang useful. My 6.0L and 4L80E are perfect! Not 1000hp but 300 hp perfect!!!! Lol....
Man, that GN looks ten times BETTER than factory new! What an amazing transformation! Now that you own the most beautiful GN in the country, have fun showing her off. Excellent video as always.
The GN is like a Rolex or an expensive watch or jewelry you want to fill in the empty gap of not having it, so by having this GN you do that but in a car must have fashion, not the fastest although you can make it a rocket, not the newest although it is a classic of the new new so basically you have all of the best in this older 80s V6 turbo beginnings of technology. Also i wonder if all auto body or car washes know that concept of what was done here witch i learned in this video about paint more than i ever known all my life lol.
I recently subscribed to LSC and love his content. He's also very funny, he's one of those guys that can be the nicest person in the world. But when you piss him off, he probably explodes like a stick of dynamite. I love all GM cars and trucks, most def a fan of the 70s cars. I know of a lot of guys born in the 60s, that prefer 70s model cars. Keep up the great job of entertaining us, as well as teaching us a few things. ✌🏽😎👍🏽🙏🏽
I always like watching the bloopers at the end. Makes me realzie i'm not the only one who takes 5 takes to say a simple sentence when i'm on camera lol. Keep the content coming Alex!
I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I share your love for the GN and the GM 3.8 V6 [new and old]. Thanks for saving another one.
Hey man, we put a small section of ppf under the door handles to prevent further scratches. Might help you out with this build. Looks awesome dude, beautiful example 👍🏻
It doesn't matter if it's a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, it's a car you genuinely and truly love and have desired for a long time! I am so blown away by what an amazing restoration project you've completed with this one - huge congratulations!
Enjoy it forever, All that hard work paid off. I was thinking you're the luckiest guy with all this stuff working out for you until I saw all your bloopers..😂
Alex, the smile on your face shows how excited you are about this build. What a genuine guy you are and I'm so glad your dreams are coming true. You deserve it! I remember the smell of those cars, like most 80s cars. It's amazing. LSC is absolutely my fav channel and even better when we can wake up on Saturday mornings to car vids.
I wouldn't have believed it but I saw it with my own eyes, the transformation is mind blowing, I would have thought you painted it over, HATS OF I'M IMPRESSED.
This has been a hell of a build/resto, man. CAP putting the finishing touches on it turned this thing into a museum car 🤤 I’d say this is the perfect car to have a nice set of black leather driving gloves for, and to toss on the steering wheel, to have so you can keep everything minty and perfect and clean, and also just because it’s the type of classic where they aren’t out of place haha Enjoy the hell out of it man, I’m so happy for you 🙌🏼 as always, stay awesome Alex
I love his videos, but I feel like I'm watching an Auto TV show more than UA-cam and that very bad. seem like he takes any sponsorship as long they are paying him money. I watch a youtuber (Andrew Camarata) he has over 1.4 million subscribers I never see one sponsorship ad on his channel he said he been offered 6 figures $$$ but he turns it down cuz he doesn't want his channel turn into a TV show with commercials
Buffing a car that has been repainted not by you can be scary. When you dont know how much clear or what paint was used. Single stage sucks. Its old enough to have it
Back in the mid 90’s I had a 93 Mustang GT I bought new in spring of 94. It was the centerfold car for the 93 5.0. litre. It was all red, grey cloth, no sunroof & a 5 speed. Anyway I built it up with aluminum heads, custom one off aluminum plenum with a Vortech S-Trim race spec with HD bearings so I could run a cog drive pulley system. The car went 10:58@127MPH with me shifting like no one’s business…😋 10:58 back then which was real quick! I built it all myself. The car was show quality. It never seen snow or rain & I put it away in the winter. Basically just took it out to the local parking lot to hang out, street raced it a bunch & took it to New England Drag Way a couple times. There’s a point to all this, but I had to tell you about my car.😋 Okay, my sister’s boyfriend Josh had a 19k mile mint 87 Grand National & it was impeccably mint. We were anal about our cars, I still am. He went 12:30@104MPH with just a tune & Mickey Thompson sportsman pros. We took it apart & sent the heads out to New Jersey & he was getting a custom cam made from the same place. He bought everything for this car. We put a 13” front brake kit on it (I think Baer?) & of course he bought a huge Garret turbo, I can’t remember the sz? But the entire car was being built for 9’s & again this is 1995, so a real fast car. He was driving home from fishing down the Cape, we’re from New England, he fell asleep at the wheel in his winter beater & he died! Absolutely destroyed our family! It was my sisters first love & they were most likely definitely going to get married. Well I just figured I’d tell you a little story, because obviously I can’t ever see one of these with out remembering my very close friend & was going to be my future brother in law. Such a shame, he was 21 yrs old(💔) Im 48 now & I can’t believe how fast time flys by. His mom wanted me to have his car, but I couldn’t even look at it. She sold it to a couple guys about 8 yrs after he passed. Didn’t wanna bum you out but I love these cars! My cousin Russel has a few, one is in the low 8’s in the 1/4 mile! Good luck with it & I know you take care of your cars. Im still into cars, I have a 630 wheel H.P, black on black 44k original mile, mint, mint 09 BMW 135i with the mighty N54. It’s port & direct injected with twin pure 600’s. It’s gonna get a big single maybe next yr. Sorry for the book, good luck…💪🏻💯🙏🏻🏁
I was new to driving but always car obsessed. I was huge into the Jeep/K5 Blazer scene but always dreamed of a 2001 Ford SVT Cobra Red. Now that I’m older I have been buying my old dream cars. I’ve had my Dakota R/T 5.9, Durango R/T 5.9, third gen Camaro and Firebird and now my 2002 Harley Edition F150. Never been able to get a Cobra for a decent price. I’ll keep hunting
I just finished watching your entire series on the Grand National-it was mesmerizing! I appreciate how you explained the process as you went, as well as the fantastic camera work. Thanks for all your hard work!! Love your channel!
1968-1970 El Camino SS in cherry red paint with black racing stripes and 454 with 4 on the floor is my dream car since I was around 8 years old I’ll get one someday I’ve gotten close a couple times but I wanna find the right one that I know i can rebuild I’m almost 22 so I got many years to go
While my friends love new Lambos and Ferraris, I'm over here head over heals over 1990-1993 Fox body Mustangs specially the coupe. I KNOW HOW you feel Alex!
If you want to some legit 80s street cred, no need for protective film, only one word,....car BRA! LOL... Seriously though, man that Black Beauty shined up nooiice!! I always wanted a GN, alas all I could afford at 16 was a '84 Old Cutlass Supreme. Makes me want to get one now almost 30yrs later!!
Wait….nano-tech paint corrections & top notch 2020’s technology used everywhere but spray paint the dash piece ?? Can’t you powder coat it , spray paint looks like……spray paint.
I challenge any YT detailer to use their expensive “designer” compounds and polishes and show it side by side on a panel that also JUST used Mequiars Ultimate compound, wax, and polish. I’m betting you will see little to no ACTUAL DIFFERENCE.
My absolute dream car is 69/70 Daytona/Superbird!! When I was 10 years old, I was growing up in Central Florida, near the Daytona International Speedway. At a car show during Speedweek, there was a Toro Red Dodge Daytona. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen!! Now this being WAY before the internet, research was done at the LIBRARY of all places! I read as much as I could find about this car, NASCAR, and it kicked off my love for cars! My family and I were around DIS all the time. My dad raced motorcycles there, my mom worked for Channel 6 (out of Orlando) a CBS station, and we were always around cars/motorcycles. I didn't see another Daytona in person until I was almost 30! It was at a tire shop I used to work at. It was Petty Blue and it was a clone but it was still beautiful as ever!!
My dream car has to be Mercedes E63 AMG Sedan, I'd absolutely love to own one one day, but I doubt that's ever going to happen :P But honestly, more realistically, I'd like to own a V8 BMW E39 sedan to have a comfortable V8 cruiser :)
That C4 stuff is awesome. I bought my current daily driver, which is a 2005 Renault Clio mk2, in 2019 and did all the black plastics with that then. They're still black to this day. 65k km/just over 40k miles later. I mean it's winter most of the year here as well. Good stuff!!!
What a way for Buick to end the life of its G-body. I dreamed of having one back when they were new, but someone just out of high school and starting college couldn't afford it. I liked the G-bodies, I had two; a 1978 Regal and a 1980 Grand Prix. Just the basic cars, nothing fancy. Not my dream cars either, that would be the Daytona from Miami Vice, even if it was a replica.

@@MellowYe77ow Whoa, that's crazy! I got my answer but now I have even more questions! LOL! Thanks for the info!
Keep the content coming Alex!
looks BETTER than brand new!
I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I share your love for the GN and the GM 3.8 V6 [new and old]. Thanks for saving another one.
My friend you have the best content 👌
Hey man, we put a small section of ppf under the door handles to prevent further scratches. Might help you out with this build. Looks awesome dude, beautiful example 👍🏻
Beautiful Grand National.. Love the videos.. Keep up the good work until I see you in the next video..👍👍🙂
U never tell us how much it would cost to detail a car like u did the grand national. What would be the total to detail a car like urs.
Love this video. Congratulations, Alex, it’s great to see you finally got your dream car.
It doesn't matter if it's a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, it's a car you genuinely and truly love and have desired for a long time! I am so blown away by what an amazing restoration project you've completed with this one - huge congratulations!
I know whenever you park this in a lot, it will be about fifty spots away from the next closest car. 😬
CAP putting the finishing touches on it turned this thing into a museum car 🤤 I’d say this is the perfect car to have a nice set of black leather driving gloves for, and to toss on the steering wheel, to have so you can keep everything minty and perfect and clean, and also just because it’s the type of classic where they aren’t out of place haha
Enjoy the hell out of it man, I’m so happy for you 🙌🏼 as always, stay awesome Alex
Its old enough to have it
Looks awesome Alex, CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
Congrats on getting the GN sorted, Alex! It looks A-mazing. Enjoy. Great work by Jason and his team. Great editing, Max!
dream car is Holden VL Calias with the turbocharged RB30 nissan engine
I’m betting you will see little to no ACTUAL DIFFERENCE.
congrats Alex! Looks incredible. 1000 dad points for your kids wanting to be dropped off at school in it.
My dream car has to be Mercedes E63 AMG Sedan, I'd absolutely love to own one one day, but I doubt that's ever going to happen :P
But honestly, more realistically, I'd like to own a V8 BMW E39 sedan to have a comfortable V8 cruiser :)
You're right words cannot describe. I'll try with my south side/suburban truck driver uneducated language... Fuc**ng Sick!!
