Aren't we, to borrow from Fyodor Dostoyevsky, just a piano key in an organ? And if we are, then it is absurd to take life too seriously and perhaps, it would be better to just live it on a day-to-day basis without greed, ambition, and jealousy. Maybe 'tis the role I got in this play. Probably I will get a better one in the next, who knows? Is there a next? The next for the rain is cloud or vice versa. What makes us any different?
"I do this" as the ego, is not the same thing as "I do this" as God. Oneness does NOT mean that everything happening to you is your own doing, if anything, it means the opposite of this. It's not your own doing because there is no you. There is God and nothing, not God in everything.
I follow you. But if there is no ego, no Person can be identified with "God" and therefore the very word has no meaning. So why not use a phrase like "the Ultimate" or "the Supreme" or "the One". Even the notion of Buddha Nature has connotations of that "thing" having some sort of a persona quality. Just my thoughts. I believe the sufi tradition makes an argument also that there is nothing other than God. But the nature of the creations is then equally ineffable...x
