In this video I am going to present Flight Control Replay for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
The tool is currently in closed beta and will be available in January 2021.
It is the perfect tool to record your flight and replay it from different camera perspectives. In addition, it has a lot of powerful features for video creators.
Disclosure: I am NOT sponsored or in any ways involved in Flight Control Replay. I just got the chance to test it during the beta phase and Fabio, the developer, gave me the permission to show it in my streams and videos. Thus and because I want to support him, I created this video to already give you a sneak preview into what you will get in January.

Wow! The Replay tool is great!! I really liked this video with all the beautiful camera angles and views. Simply beautiful!

The fact that fs developer could not figure this out is a disgrace 😡.
This is absolutely amazing what these guys have done.
I suspect this is a hack to the "saved game" and comes with its own limitations based on my understanding. Hopefully someone with $20 will clarify later
My understanding
* In the first go when pilot actually flies the plane, the software captures all the input parameters, etc. with precise timestamps during recording
* Once recording is completed, the software creates a “saved” session just like you ESC -> Save in MSFS
* On the second go, once your session is loaded, the input parameters will be injected maybe through SimConnect to control your airplane
* Essentially, it’s like a super Autopilot so user is free to look around. I suspect that user could fly the airplane differently in the “replay” session if he/she chooses so. This also explains why the weather/time could be changed on-demand, because it’s a “saved” game
* So if my understanding is correct, the weather parameters would be snapshotted in the saved file - meaning it’s going to be static from the moment you started recording. In other words, if you started in clear sky but landed in a storm, your recorded session would stay in the clear sky for the rest of the saved session. Hopefully someone can clear this up next year
* Similarly, other AI/player airplanes would not show up for the same reason
My belief is that Asobo understands these challenges and want to come up with an all-around solution. Moreover, I think they are defining a new file type specific for replay, one that should not be confused/interchanged with a saved session

@@ZzZz-ve5rc I have fs playground but when i want to replay a 44min. flight, its not working. I can only replay short things and this is not so nice. Hope thatflight control replay is better.

It's always amazing that the modding community can do faster, sometimes better, what the developer never seems able to get around to doing themselves. For shame, Asobo. For shame.
amazing! you guys should also add like a little cinematic mode which would have black bars like used in movies for a more cinematic theme, and maybe improve the ui a little bit. other than that, its amazing. :)
If you can't wait for the in game replay next year and have 20$ to burn sure I for one will patiently wait for the sim's version to come out!

Great video and great product. Sad that msfs2020 is so barebones that there isn't even a native replay system. Whenever they address the poor performance of the sim I will give it another go and will definitely be getting this software.
Why are people disliking? Do they not want to be able to replay their flights?

Brilliant, I've been waiting so eagerly for this. The tool also seems well implemented, with plenty of options. I'm just worried that it will disturb other users in online mode. So the replay should be best in offline mode only.

Very nice! But that UI looks obnoxious! I really hope that UI is just a placeholder until the fnal version comes out. It doesn't fit the clean and modern UI of MSFS. Feels like a UI for FSX. If the developer sees this I really hope you will make it look more elegant. But other than that, the addon looks promising!

Hey there nice video how to you make the drone camera follow the aircraft like a tower camera?
I had to control it myself with the drone axis. Unfortunately there is no automated tower-like view at the moment.
Useful tool FCR and really good video...please, which is the airport where you landed at 6:50 minutes?

It seems to be very powerful with a lot of features. Often such functions are implemented in a very minimalistic way. But the Movie shows a lot of functions / features and i dont think we will get such a big replay tool from Asobo.

Back in the day they had a flight recorder that recorded the plane but not just the replay.... for example you record a flight and the play it back and fly next to yourself... then record more flights until you had a full sky of recorded flight... so much fun to fly with myself

Yes you re right but i m a one man show :-D i preferred become compatible with MSFS in v4.5 and change UI in v5 ;-) (Policy is buy once and you ll have for free every updates and major version)

I clicked on the video, realized its not clickbate, searched for the download/shop link and now im asking... Why are you doing this to me... :'(
But anyway, very nice work and i think i will go for it. I know, Asobo will implement a replay function too, but they didnt said when and how good this will work at the beginning so for me i would say, its more worth to spent the money for this, than to a scenery or plane addon!

Does this only record the player's aircraft or will it record aircraft flown by other players as well (e.g. for multiplayer formation flying)?
I agree that this should be native in the sim. Instant replay existed in earlier versions of MSFS and if nothing else, was great for video creation and analysing that screwed up landing.

bought the tool, how do you record IN/OUT points and intermediate keyframes while using drone? I wanna record 3 airports while flying from one to another using keyframes. Thx

UI needs a big overhaul, buttons and layout look terrible. Otherwise the execution and end result though is beyond excellent.

Streamdeck is compatible, since you can setup key commands inside the tool

Why does it say "Disable plane crash detection in MSFS" on simmarket? i don't want to disable crash detection, that prevented me also from buying the aircraft carrier :-/ is there time limit for recording? can you record VR flights?
that's really cool, but I don't think it's that necessary to buy the replay function because on the development wishlist, the replay function will come out in 2021

I dont recommend buying this software. I'm very unhappy with this software for many reasons. First, prerequisite requires you to install tons of outdated software, and it can't save as ... when you press record. After messing up for two days, I gave up and shift to Fsplayground. Now I'm very happy with FSplayground because it is much easy to use.
Do you install this into the MSFS 2020 Community Folder? Or do you just install it to it's default installation path?

Does this tool actually replays all the controls correctly? On freeware tools, the replays are always fucked up (retracted flaps, fully deployed spoilers on final approach and such things, because it seems to always remember the last state of the aircraft instead of picking the state which was actually active when recording).
I am delighted with what I saw. Thank you!!! Great mod. I am ready to support the creator even $ 30 today. I know how hard it is to make a replay program worth every cash. I would like to join the beta testers today, even if I were to purchase the program today. If I wait for the assobo, it will probably be a good year, and then another one for corrections. How can I join the testers? I want to help.
There is already a replay mod on the market. Check FS playground. And an open source as well. Saltyreplay .
Yes you are right... In the meantime more people started working on replay mods. Personally, I am really looking forward to the open source one of salty. But so far they are not really usable. Really hope salty can deliver a good freeware solution until MSFS gets the built in one. FCR is probably rather targeted towards professional video creators with additional functionalities.

for some reason my flight control replay crashes the msfs2020 after the UK update , it worked perfect before the update...after i record a flight and then load it into the sim it loads then crashes the sim completely ... any one had this problem.. iv re installed the fcr but no change..

Nobody asked that so far.. It works for P3D, FSX, XPLANE, and soon for MSFS2020. I dont think DCS works with it... unfortunately.. because the DCS replay ia really not very good

Will this mean your aircraft shows on other user MP traffic?
Do you mean if other players on Multiplayer will see you when you play forward and backwards? I have not tested it yet, but I think so, because the tool essentially records your flight path and all of your inputs (lights, flight contrtols, flaps, gear, reverser, etc.) and then plays it back. So if you are still in multiplayer or on VATSIM or IVAO, I think other players will see you in the replay.
@@cptmayday this is what I thought, the way the MP traffic is currently set up in MSFS "All Traffic" shows every user regardless if they are flying on VATSIM/IVAO/OFFLINE
