Here are my top 10 tips on ways you can go about promoting your art to the world.
They are pretty universal and are a great introduction into using the tools around you to get you seen.
If you found this video helpful, inspiring or entertaining, and you would like to buy us a coffee, you can donate using the Super Thanks button (the heart icon). It'll go towards paying for the next camera (as I seem to break them with alarming frequency!!!). Thanks for all your support - Ed an Ady

Quick question. You've spent a decade putting work online and still never sold a piece. Social media is the same few people seeing your posts . Has anyone got an idea how you make any income via art, as it appears to be a black hole and very expensive hobby .
It can be unless you put the work in. I have tried to explain this on several of my videos. A lot depends on what you are trying to achieve but it starts, in my opinion, with who it is you are trying to sell to (your market). Have you created an optimized website that provides a great user experience and is fully search engine friendly? Have you defined what your ideal customer looks like? Have you reached out to your local community? Participated in art fairs or events? Have you written to newspapers and journals asking to be featured? Have you actively been seeking your market through social media? (eg, interior specialists, business owners, architects in my case).
There are hundreds of things you can and should be doing. If you just put out images on Social Media and are hoping for the best your chances of success are very low. I checked your UA-cam channel and there are no links to you anywhere - see what I mean? I looked for you online and found an empty LinkedIn page - so where and how would a potential client find you? If you've spent a decade putting art online as you say then how do I find it all?
Make fan art, for different series which you love, it usually brings in traction faster than making oc’s
Sorry for the novel, but these are my tips: the best way to sell art is to tie in with something, films, the sci fi or horror genre etc... Otherwise no one gives a monkeys unless you set yourself up as a pet and baby portrait artist or paint insipid landscapes... You'll only get into the art and gallery system if you have a touch of the con artist... That's the most vital thing for that world, you can honestly do dull ugly art, and talk your way into being considered good by these people.
The right politics are more important now... if you have any beleif that veers even slightly from wokeism... hide it. Paint someone in a feotal position and call it waiting to be born, and go on about how the bed is a womb, when all you've done is... Painted someone sleeping, do that... And these people will start taking notice. But it would feel hollow.
To be honest as someone who went to art school, you don't go to learn how to paint, I did that all by myself, you learn how to conform to their system. So they can market you and make money off you if you're one of the very few who make it.
You forgot to add: "Number 11: Make a youtube video: Film yourself whilst walking around your studio, making sure you promote your own art in the background whilst talking about how should you promote your art." Love the irony! LOL!
memememineme ah yes, well spotted! Well, in my defence, it’s a nice space and where I work so it kinda makes sense to film there! But yes, I totally get the irony of it! Lol
It's a fantastic idea, I think!
@@SwarezArt Yes, but you have something to show, yourself, your art, the space you are in, the way you think, etc,... Number 1 should always be, be a better artist, and don't expect people to be interested in your crap.
Doppe1ganger well, lucky for me that people are! Thanks for your input! Much appreciated.

I’m 55 year old painter doing and selling my paintings for 34 years, need to step it up as far as promo, selling and reaching the right audience, your videos are very motivating, like that you cut to the chase without a lot of B S. Subscribed and will watch and act ... relentlessly and consistent 👍🎨
Thank you so much Daniel! I really appreciate that :)
Do whatever feels comfortable. Whatever time allows.
For me, I consign only, because it gives me more time to research, create and enrich my life. No website. No orders. No deadlines.
With several different stores, I sell at least 1000 items per year. I rotate merchandise every 6 months with 4 Spring collections and 4 Fall collections of purses and jewelry that are always in flux.
It's just my way of streamlining my craft as well as my life to make the most out of my time.
Tourist areas, wealthy communities and busy general stores tend to sell out requiring more frequent inventory.
thank you for the great tips as i am. a beginner artist
You are so welcome!

Helpful tips :) thank you!
Would be great to have a session on how you price your art? Do you calculate the costing of the canvas, number of paints used, tools and then add on your experience? Do you price it according to the client?
Try this, hope it helps: ua-cam.com/video/IhPL2owJeTk/v-deo.html

An excellent observation Jeremy - thank you for sharing it!!!
Oh my you really are on top of things!
I guess the homes there are not modern enough to suit your art? They look like huge pieces anyway. I’m sure they look fantastic in a commercial space.

Your intro must be an editing software template. Lachri Fine Art’s channel has the same one, music and fade in but with her logo. It was a trip seeing that. I thought I clicked on the wrong video for a second.
Thanks. I have changed it recently though to something a little more dynamic!
Swarez Art It was an older video, I thought that might be the case. Hey just want to let you know I enjoy your videos, you have a lot of good info and you’re very encouraging.
