Paint a SIMPLE abstract - easy How To Guide

Let me show you a really simple technique for creating a beautiful piece of abstract art. I'm using lots of bright colours - anyone can have a go and have fun. And you really can paint this today with just a few simple tools and basic paint and canvas from any online retailer or your local art store.
In the first half of the video I take you through some basic preparation - what tools you will need and especially using things you may already have in the house - like sponges, cardboard and paint brushes. You can skip to around the 09:00 mark if you just want to see how the painting is created.
I also talk about canvas, painting the background and how to finish off the edges.
Look out for the second video here ( • Paint abstract the EAS... ) where we will get straight into creating using another simple and amazing technique to make a beautiful, colourful painting - completely different to this one!

I am a painter, I paint houses not just as a living but with the greatest passion as I love it. I always asked my self, can I be creative in any other way? I though that I’m order to be an artist in painting one’s have to be a Picasso, well I just discovered today that I can paint an abstract and let other people interpret what I just painted. Why am i soo strongly drawn to these colours. Not just this painting!! All of the others hanging in you studio attract me. I love the look of mixed colour, whether they work on the colour wheel or not. It just fascinates me so much how drawn i am to them.

Doing acrylic pouring and nothing else does not make you an artist. Any ape can spill a cup of paint on a canvas. Try actually MAKING something. But then you probably because you’re not technically skilled which is why you gravitate to the preschooler technique of dumping paint.

I have watched a ton of different artists on here, but you are the first one I've seen that makes me feel like I'm getting a one-on-one lesson and using tools and techniques that even someone who is on a very tight budget can accomplish. And the music in the background is awesome too. I just wish I could get me some of those big canvases, but anymore one like what was used for this painting, would cost well over $70 right now. I am going to subscribe to your channel now and watch all I can!!

Nice and fun to use window wiper blades and box technique s gives different thickness as well for variation s and shapes covers areas. As gaps occur giving more details as well . So other shapes appeared. I really enjoyed this as fun piece of Art work to try . Also of use of sponges for the sides good idea for finishing touches of edges.

Hello, Mimi here. I love this! Once in a while I get in a rut with my art. Sometimes if I change my view like going outside or in nature to paint or sketch ideas it helps a lot. Sometimes viewing other art helps.
You and this video really inspire me.

I love that you are straightforward with your clients and your followers...absolutely no BS. This is so refreshing in this day and age and in the art community. I really appreciate your honesty, your openness.
I've worked with, played around with many mediums.
You mentioned portraiture. I chuckled as I recently completed my first portraiture in oils. It took me weeks to complete, lol. After spending so much time tweeking and fine tuning the portrait, I felt the urge to go a different direction for now. I found you. I'm going to give this fun technique a go.
I like art the end how you pulled colors, like your white, red, over the edges of the canvas. I sometimes let my paint drip over the sides of my substrates.
One question. On your website you mentioned you stretch and staple your own canvases. I've never stretched my own. Do you have a video showing your process of this?

I am color challenged. I was doing acrylic pouring awhile, loved it. I no longer have the space for that type of painting but this style may be possible. I Maybe able to do it on 8” x 10” canvas? I only have a bedroom to do any crafting/art in. So I will order a few paints and a few supplies, a big heavy plastic and give this a try. Thank you for the inspiration ❣️❣️❣️
