Great step by step tutorial on a useful modification! I did this myself, but went with the shorter tweezers filed to a point. Another great mod you might like and also on Felix's channel is turning the can opener into a hook knife using a dremel. Doing all of these to a Huntsman or Ranger gives you an incredible amount of utility in a reasonably sized package.
Been using that twist tender for a few years..I put shrink tubing on mine which will keep it from fraying and can be used as tender as well..love the channel❤

Curious question, does the smaller Firefly fit into the original tweezers then you get a smaller tweezers (such as those found on Victorinox Traveller) to fit that extra slot.
I have a Swiss Champ and a Victorinox Jewelers' Kit. In the kit there are shorter Tweezers that fit perfectly inside the ''Secret'' slot. So the Firefly ferro stick goes to the Toothpick slot, the Toothpick goes to the Tweezer slot, and the old long Tweezers go back in the kit. I will have to sand down the head of the toothpick, but it is full-sized.

I took an old Ranger and made it a plus scale by doing exactly what you did but I had to carve out the entire length of the pen to make it fit. Not a professional job either but it worked just fine.

Instead of cutting the big toothpick and modifying it, couldn’t you have replaced it directly with a new small one replacement that is sold for the small Swiss Army knives?
I did this myself with my Huntsman. I could’ve gone for the Fireant, but wanted to keep my glasses driver. I tried to include my mod fix on Instagram, but UA-cam didn’t like my link! 🙄

Technically yes, but it's angled the same as the tweezers

Great modification to the scales, buy why not but replacement ‘small tweezers’. They are cheaply available, and keep the toothpick where it is.
